• How to use libavformat for a separate encoder?

- by Brendon Tsai
I've build a encoder based on the sample of QUALCOMM, which captures the video and compresses it into h264 file. I am using Android 4.2.2. Now I want to add a mp4 muxer into this encoder(actually, just video will be fine, I don't need audio). I want to use FFMpeg. But after I read the example, I found out that the muxer was using the encoder of FFMpeg. I don't know how to use the muxer part for another encoder. I've read this post, but I don't understand how the code provide video stream to the muxer. I think that mainly because I don't understand these code: AVCodecContext * strmCodec = oFmtCtx->streams[0]->codec; // Fill the required properties for codec context. // *from the documentation: // *The user sets codec information, the muxer writes it to the output. // *Mandatory fields as specified in AVCodecContext // *documentation must be set even if this AVCodecContext is // *not actually used for encoding. my_tune_codec(strmCodec); Can anyone give me a hint? Thank you!

• Problem consuming a dataset via a .NET web service from Flex-ActionScript

- by DEH
Hi, I am returning a .NET dataset to Flex Actionscript via a web service. Actionscript snippet as follows: var websvc:WebService = new WebService(); websvc.useProxy=false; websvc.wsdl = "http://localhost:13229/test/mysvc.asmx?WSDL"; websvc.loadWSDL(); var operation:Operation = new Operation(null, "GetData"); operation.arguments.command="xx_gethierdata_"+mode+"_"+identifier; operation.addEventListener(ResultEvent.RESULT, onResultHandler, false, 0, true); operation.addEventListener(FaultEvent.FAULT, onFaultHandler, false, 0, true); operation.resultFormat="object"; websvc.operations = [operation]; operation.send(); Once in the onResultHandler function I have access to the datatable - I then want to grab the column names. The following code outputs my column names: for each (var tcolumn:Object in datatable.Columns){trace('Column:'+tcolumn);} This works ok, but the column names are encoded, so a column name that is actually "1-9" is output as "_x005B_1-9_x005D_" Anyone know the best way to decode the column name? I could replace all the encoding strings, but surely there is a better way? Thanks

• How can I dial GPRS/EDGE in Win CE

- by brontes
Hello all. I am developing application in python on Windows CE which needs connection to the internet (via GPRS/EDGE). When I turn on the device, the internet connection is not active. It becomes active if I open internet explorer. I would like to activate connection in my application. I'm trying to do this with RasDial function over ctypes library, but I can't get it to work. Is this the right way or I should do something else? Below is my current code. The ResDial function keeps returning error 87 – Invalid parameter. I don't know anymore what is wrong with it. I would really appreciate any kind of help. Thanks in advance. encoding: utf-8 import ppygui as gui from ctypes import * import os class MainFrame(gui.CeFrame): def init(self, parent = None): gui.CeFrame.init(self, title=u"Zgodovina dokumentov", menu="Menu") DWORD = c_ulong TCHAR = c_wchar ULONG_PTR = c_ulong class RASDIALPARAMS(Structure): _fields_ = [("dwSize", DWORD), ("szEntryName", TCHAR*21), ("szPhoneNumber", TCHAR*129), ("szCallbackNumber", TCHAR*49), ("szUserName", TCHAR*257), ("szPassword", TCHAR*257), ("szDomain", TCHAR*16), ] try: param = RASDIALPARAMS() param.dwSize = 1462 # also tried 1464 and sizeof(RASDIALPARAMS()). • ADO.NET Data Services Media type requires a ';' character before a parameter definition.

- by idahosaedokpayi
I am experimenting with ADO.NET and I am seeing this error on the second attempt to browse the service: <error xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/08/dataservices/metadata">
<message xml:lang="en-US">Media type requires a ';' character before a parameter definition.</message> </error> The first attempt is normal. I am working with an exactly identical service on an internal development network and it is fine. I am including my connection string: <add name="J4Entities" connectionString="metadata=res://*;provider=System.Data.SqlClient;provider connection string="Data Source=MNSTSQL01N;Initial Catalog=J4;Integrated Security=True;MultipleActiveResultSets=True"" providerName="System.Data.EntityClient"/> and my Data service class: using System; using System.Data.Services; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.ServiceModel.Web; public class Data : DataService< J4Model.J4Entities > { // This method is called only once to initialize service-wide policies. public static void InitializeService(IDataServiceConfiguration config) { // TODO: set rules to indicate which entity sets and service operations are visible, updatable, etc. // Examples: config.SetEntitySetAccessRule("*", EntitySetRights.AllRead); // config.SetServiceOperationAccessRule("MyServiceOperation", ServiceOperationRights. All); } } Is there something obvious I am not doing?

• How to make the TextView invisible when there are items in listView?

- by Raphael Thomas Liewl
I like to display textView when there are no items in the listView whereas the textView will not display when there are items in the listView. My problem is even there are items in the listView, the textView still will be displayed in a short time and then load the items into listView. So, how to make the TextView invisible when there are items in listView? Here is the codes: public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstancesState){ super.onCreate(savedInstancesState); setContentView(R.layout.list_screen); user = getIntent().getExtras().getString("user"); Log.d("dg",user); getList(); lv = (ListView) findViewById(android.R.id.list); emptyText = (TextView)findViewById(android.R.id.empty); lv.setEmptyView(emptyText); } list_screen.xml <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" > <ListView android:id="@+id/android:list" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"/> <TextView android:id="@+id/android:empty" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:text="@string/no_friend" android:gravity="center_vertical|center_horizontal"/> </LinearLayout>

• Rails 2.x provide meaningful error message with http basic authentication

- by randombits
I'm using basic http authentication in my rails app via the following code: class ApplicationController < ActionController::Base helper :all # include all helpers, all the time before_filter :authenticate private def authenticate authenticate_or_request_with_http_basic do |username, password| if username.nil? || password.nil? render :inline => %(xml.instruct! :xml, :version => "1.0", :encoding => "UTF-8" xml.errors do xml.error('Could not authenticate you.') end), :type => :builder, :status => 401 end end end end The problem is, if you do a curl http://127.0.0.1:3000/foo/1.xml without providing the -u username:password flag, you get a dead beat response like this: HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized Cache-Control: no-cache WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm="Foo" X-Runtime: 1 Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8 Content-Length: 27 Server: WEBrick/1.3.1 (Ruby/1.9.1/2010-01-10) Date: Thu, 03 Jun 2010 03:09:18 GMT Connection: Keep-Alive HTTP Basic: Access denied. Is it possible at all to render the inline XML I have above in the event a username and password is not provided by the user?

• Extending a form field to add new validations.

- by duallain
I've written an app that uses forms to collect information that is then sent in an email. Many of these forms have a filefield used to attach files to the email. I'd like to validate two things, the size of the file (to ensure the emails are accepted by our mail server. I'd also like to check the file extension, to discourage attaching file types not useable for our users. (This is the python class I'm trying to extend) class FileField(Field): widget = FileInput default_error_messages = { 'invalid': _(u"No file was submitted. Check the encoding type on the form."), 'missing': _(u"No file was submitted."), 'empty': _(u"The submitted file is empty."), 'max_length': _(u'Ensure this filename has at most %(max)d characters (it has %(length)d).'), } def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs): self.max_length = kwargs.pop('max_length', None) super(FileField, self).__init__(*args, **kwargs) def clean(self, data, initial=None): super(FileField, self).clean(initial or data) if not self.required and data in EMPTY_VALUES: return None elif not data and initial: return initial # UploadedFile objects should have name and size attributes. try: file_name = data.name file_size = data.size except AttributeError: raise ValidationError(self.error_messages['invalid']) if self.max_length is not None and len(file_name) > self.max_length: error_values = {'max': self.max_length, 'length': len(file_name)} raise ValidationError(self.error_messages['max_length'] % error_values) if not file_name: raise ValidationError(self.error_messages['invalid']) if not file_size: raise ValidationError(self.error_messages['empty']) return data

• Mis-spelling in the .NET configuration system, a design flaw?

- by smwikipedia
I just wrote some .NET code to get connection string from the config file. The config file is as below: <configuration> <appSettings> <add key="key1" value="hello,world!"/> </appSettings> <connectionStrings> <add name="conn1" connectionString="abcd"/> </connectionStrings> </configuration> .NET Framework provide the following types to get the connection string: 1- ConnectionStringsSection : stands for the config section containing several connection strings 2- ConnectionStringSettingsCollection : stands for the connection string collection 3- ConnectionStringSettings : stands for a certain connection string. .NET Framework also provide the following types to get the App Settings: 4- AppSettingsSection 5- KeyValueConfigurationCollection 6- KeyValueConfigurationElement Compare 2 to 5, 3 to 6, why are there extra "s" in ConnectionStringSetting[s]Collection and ConnectionStringSetting[s]? This mis-spelling is really mis-leading. I think it's a design flaw. Has anyone noticed that?

• Using TXMLDocument to serialize form settings to XML and database.

- by LukLed
I have an interface: type IXMLSerializable = interface function SaveToXML : DOMString; function SaveToXMLDocument : IXMLDocument; procedure LoadFromXML(AXML : DOMString); end; It is used to serialize some settings of forms or frames to xml. Simple implementation: SaveToXMLDocument: function TSomething.SaveToXMLDocument: IXMLDocument; begin Result := TXMLDocument.Create(nil); with Result do begin Active := True; with AddChild(Self.Name) do begin AddChild(edSomeTextBox.Name).Attributes['Text'] := edSomeTextBox.Text; end; end; Result := XMLDoc; end; LoadFromXML: procedure TSomething.LoadFromXML(AXML: DOMString); var XMLDoc : IXMLDocument; I : Integer; begin XMLDoc := TXMLDocument.Create(nil); with XMLDoc do begin LoadFromXML(AXML); Active := True; with ChildNodes[0] do begin for I := 0 to ChildNodes.Count-1 do begin If ChildNodes[I].NodeName = 'edSomeTextBox' then edSomeTextBox.Text := ChildNodes[I].Attributes['Text']; end; end; end; end; SaveToXML: function TSomething.SaveToXML: DOMString; begin SaveToXMLDocument.SaveToXML(Result); end; DOMString result of SaveToXML is saved to database to blob field. I had some encoding issues with other implementations and this one works fine (right now). Do you see any dangers in this code? Can I have issues with different settings on various machines and systems?

• initWithContentsOfURL seems to have issues with "long" URLs

- by samsam
Hi there I'm facing a rather strange Issue when trying to load data from an XML-Webservice. The webservice allows me to pass separated identifiers within the URL-Request. It is therefore possible for the URL to become rather long (240 characters). If I open said URL in firefox the response arrives as planned, if I execute the following code xmlData remains empty. NSString *baseUrl = [[NSString alloc] initWithString:[[[[kSearchDateTimeRequestTV stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"{LANG}" withString:appLanguageCode] stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"{IDENTIFIERS}" withString:myIdentifiers] stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"{STARTTICKS}" withString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@", [[startTime getTicks] descriptionWithLocale:nil]]] stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"{ENDTICKS}" withString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@", [[endTime getTicks] descriptionWithLocale:nil]]]]; NSLog(baseUrl); //looks good, if openend in browser, returnvalue is ok urlRequest = [NSURL URLWithString:baseUrl]; NSString *xmlData = [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL:urlRequest encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error:&err]; //err is nil, therefore i guess everything must be ok... :( NSLog(xmlData); //nothing... is there any sort of URL-Length restriction, does the same problem happened to anyone of you as well? whats a good workaround? thanks for your help sam

• XML to JSON - losing root node

- by Mike
I'm using net.sf.json with a Java project and it works great. The conversion of this XML: <important-data certified="true" processed="true"> <timestamp>232423423423</timestamp> <authors>
<firstName>Tim</firstName> <lastName>Leary</lastName>
</authors>
Flashbacks
<shippingWeight>1.4 pounds</shippingWeight> <isbn>978-0874778700</isbn> </important-data> converts to this in JSON: { "@certified": "true", "@processed": "true", "timestamp": "232423423423", "authors": [ { "firstName": "Tim", "lastName": "Leary" }], "title": "Flashbacks", "shippingWeight": "1.4 pounds", "isbn": "978-0874778700" } However, the root tag <important-data> is lost in the conversion. Being new to XML and JSON, I am not sure if this is suppose to be the correct behaviour. If not, is there any way to tell net.sf.json to convert it while keeping the root node property? Thanks.

• Netbeans, JPA Entity Beans in seperate projects. Unknown entity bean class

- by Stu
I am working in Netbeans and have my entity beans and web services in separate projects. I include the entity beans in the web services project however the ApplicaitonConfig.java file keeps getting over written and removing the entries I make for the entity beans in the associated jar file. My question is: is it required to have both the EntityBeans and the WebServices share the same project/jar file? If not what is the appropriate way to include the entity beans which are in the jar file? <persistence version="2.1" xmlns="http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/persistence" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/persistence http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_2_1.xsd"> <persistence-unit name="jdbc/emrPool" transaction-type="JTA"> <provider>org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider</provider> <jta-data-source>jdbc/emrPool</jta-data-source> <exclude-unlisted-classes>false</exclude-unlisted-classes> <properties> <property name="eclipselink.ddl-generation" value="none"/> <property name="eclipselink.cache.shared.default" value="false"/> </properties> </persistence-unit> </persistence> Based on Melc's input i verified that that the transaction type is set to JTA and the jta-data-source is set to the value for the Glassfish JDBC Resource. Unfortunately the problem still persists. I have opened the WAR file and validated that the EntityBean.jar file is the latest version and is located in the WEB-INF/lib directory of the War file. I think it is tied to the fact that the entities are not being "registered" with the entity manager. However i do not know why they are not being registered.

• Querying XML using node numbers

- by CP
Okay, so I'm writing a utility that compares 2 XML documents using Microsoft's XML diff patch tool. The result looks something like this: <xd:xmldiff version="1.0" srcDocHash="10728157883908851288" options="IgnoreChildOrder IgnoreComments IgnoreWhitespace " fragments="yes" xmlns:xd="http://schemas.microsoft.com/xmltools/2002/xmldiff"><xd:node match="1"><xd:node match="1"><xd:node match="1"><xd:node match="2"><xd:node match="1"><xd:node match="1"><xd:node match="2"><xd:change match="1">testi22n2123</xd:change></xd:node></xd:node><xd:add match="/1/1/1/2/1/8" opid="1" /><xd:node match="7"><xd:node match="1"><xd:change match="1">31</xd:change></xd:node><xd:node match="2"><xd:change match="1">test2ing</xd:change></xd:node></xd:node><xd:remove match="8" opid="1" /></xd:node></xd:node></xd:node></xd:node></xd:node><xd:descriptor opid="1" type="move" /></xd:xmldiff> What I'm trying to do is go back into the source document and get the source data that represents the difference. I initially tried creating an Xpath query, but as I understand it now this XmlDiff thing works off the DOM... which seems like the dinosaur of XML objects these days. What's the best way to get at the node in the source XML by using the numbers provided in the diff result?

• AndEngine: Black screen when using LayoutGameActivity

- by Lemuel Hogben
I used to use SimpleBaseGameActivity for my app and everything was ok, but now I want to add some ads into the app, so I tried to use LayoutGameActivity. But I get the screen completely black and I don't know why. That's my code: public class AcGame extends LayoutGameActivity { [...] @Override protected int getLayoutID() { return R.layout.ad; } @Override protected int getRenderSurfaceViewID() { return R.id.layout_render; } @Override public EngineOptions onCreateEngineOptions() { [...] return new EngineOptions(true, ScreenOrientation.PORTRAIT_FIXED, resolution, camera); } @Override public void onCreateResources(OnCreateResourcesCallback pOnCreateResourcesCallback) throws Exception { createResources(); pOnCreateResourcesCallback.onCreateResourcesFinished(); } @Override public void onCreateScene(OnCreateSceneCallback pOnCreateSceneCallback) throws Exception { pOnCreateSceneCallback.onCreateSceneFinished(createScene()); } @Override public void onPopulateScene(Scene pScene, OnPopulateSceneCallback pOnPopulateSceneCallback) throws Exception { pOnPopulateSceneCallback.onPopulateSceneFinished(); } And that's my layout: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <LinearLayout android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="top" android:id="@+id/layout_ad" > </LinearLayout> <org.andengine.opengl.view.RenderSurfaceView android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:gravity="center" android:id="@+id/layout_render" /> </LinearLayout> When I'm trying to debug, I can see that EngineOptions are creating, but no one of the LayoutGameActivity's methods was called (onCreateResources, onCreateScene or onPopulateScene). Can someone tell me what I've missed?

• Not Understanding Basics Of Dynamic DataBinding (bindPropety) In Flex

- by Joshua
I need to dynamically bind properties of components created at runtime. In this particular case please assume I need to use bindProperty. I don't quite understand why the following simplistic test is failing (see code). When I click the button, the label text does not change. I realize that there are simpler ways to go about this particular example using traditional non-dynamic binding, but I need to understand it in terms of using bindProperty. Can someone please help me understand what I'm missing? <mx:WindowedApplication xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" xmlns:ns1="Tools.*" minWidth="684" minHeight="484" xmlns:ns2="*" creationComplete="Init();"> <mx:Script> import mx.collections.ArrayCollection; import mx.binding.utils.*; public var Available:ArrayCollection=new ArrayCollection(); public function get Value():String { return (Available.getItemAt(0).toString()); } public function Init():void { Available.addItemAt('Before', 0); BindingUtils.bindProperty(Lab, 'text', this, 'Value'); } public function Test():void { Available.setItemAt('After', 0); } </mx:Script> <mx:Label x="142" y="51" id="Lab"/> <mx:Button x="142" y="157" label="Button" click="Test();"/> </mx:WindowedApplication> Thanks in advance.

• Obtain reference to View in ActionScript class within ViewNavigatorApplication

- by chb
I've got a very simple project in FlashBuilder 4.5. It's a mobile application of type ViewNavigatorApplication with a single view, MapView. In the MapView.mxml file, I've got a Flex component of type Map declared in xml. <s:View xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" name="CatBusMapView"> <fx:Script> import com.esri.ags.Map; .... </fx:Script> <fx:Declarations> .... </fx:Declarations> <esri:Map id="cbm"> ... </esri:Map> </s:View> In this same project, I've an actionscript class called UserGeolocation. In this class, I'm attempting to get a reference to this map component. So far, I can get a reference to the top-level application, its ViewNavigator and the NavigationStack of said ViewNavigator. However, I cannot find a way to access the MapView, much less the map I've declared within it. I'm aware of methods like firstView() and activeView(), but I want an absolute solution, one that retrieves the view regardless of whether or not it's first or active. I've tried navigator.getChildByName("MapView") with no luck.

• rails 3 actionmailer cannot send email

- by lkahtz
I am following Ryan Bates's tutorial on Rails 3 ActionMailer. I generate the mailer in terminal and then establish a setup_mail.rb under config/initializers. I keyed in the following code: ActionMailer::Base.smtp_settings={ :address => "smtp.gmail.com", :port => 587, :domail => "gmail.com", :user_name => "my_account_at_gmail", :password => "my_password", :authentication => "plain" , :enable_starttls_auto => true } My user_mailer.rb file goes like: class UserMailer < ActionMailer::Base default :from => "[email protected]" def registration_confirmation(user) mail(:to => user.email,:subject => "registered") end end I tested in rails console: u=User.first UserMailer.registration_confirmation(u).deliver it displays: #<Mail::Message:2194479560, Multipart: false, Headers: <Date: Sat, 26 Feb 2011 14:42:06 +0800>, <From: [email protected]>, <To: [email protected]>, <Message-ID: <[email protected]>>, <Subject: registered>, <Mime-Version: 1.0>, <Content-Type: text/plain>, <Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit>> BUT I never received the email here... Why? How can I solve this? I guess it is some problem on send_mail.rb file..
