Virtual Channels seems to be exactly what I need but Microsoft's documentation leaves very much to be desired. Does anyone know of good tutorials or just some examples I could use to help me.     Given an area of specific size I need to find out how many pavement stones to use to completely pave the area. Suppose that I have an empty floor of 100 metre squares and stones with 20x10 cm and 30x10 cm sizes. I must pave the area with minimum usage of stones of both sizes. Anyone knows of an algorithm that calculates this? (Sorry if my English is bad) C# is preferred.

  • Free-as-in-beer binary file format inspector

    I am looking for a utility that gives me the ability to specify a binary file format and then interpret a file of bytes according to that format. (Something along the lines of the 010 Editor, but infinitely more cost-effective). Something that runs on Mac OS X would be preferred, but I'm interested to see what all is out there in general (while more of a hassle I'd be willing to run a tool on Windows if it were superior.) What's your preference?

  • ArcObjects: Is buffering a point faster than buffering a line / polyline?

    I can write my code logic to either buffer a polyline or to buffer the to and from point of the polyline. Working with the points will be easier, so it is the preferred way. Logically my reasoning tells me that buffering a point will be faster as it will always be a perfect circle. But will buffering 2 points still be faster than buffering 1 polyline? My gut says yes. Any comments?
