• JVM throws OutOfMemory during gc though there are plenty memory left...

  I have my java application configured to use 5G memory. I got an OutOfMemory out of blue. I inspected the gc log and found plenty of memory left: young generation occupies 4% allocated space, tenure generation occupancy is 5% and perm generation is 43%. I am puzzled why JVM throws an OutOfMemory at the gc time. Does anyone know why this is happening? Your help is greatly appreciated. • how to change strip.text labels in ggplot with facet and margin=TRUE

  I have looked here but still can't figure it out. How do I change the strip.text.x labels in a ggplot with faceting? Specifically I am using facet_grid with margins. The strip.text label for the margin is "(all)" - but since I am in a non-english speaking country I would rather write "Total" or something similar in my native tongue. opts(stip.text.x=c(levels(facetvariabel,"Total")) does not work. Any ideas? Example (not really the best dataset for this - but I guess it will work) ggplot(cars, aes(x=dist))+geom_bar()+facet_grid(.~speed, margin=T)

  I have a strange scenario... while doing a EMMA coverage for UT, I get the total block coverage size more than line coverage size. For block coverage, the total size is some 50,000 while the line coverage is out of 18,000. I get (block-coverage-value) / 50,000 and (line-coverage-value) / 18,000 in the report. Is it possible?   Hi I am doing Silverlight 4 In my database, I have a store procedure(having two parameters) which returns rows (with extra fields). So i have to make a complex type for those rows on my Models. And Making a service to call that function import store procedure. The RIA will automatically create a matching Entity(to the complex type) and an operation for me. However, I don't know how to validation the parameters of the operation on both client and server side. For example, the parameter must be an integer only (and greater than 10) or datetime only. below is my xaml code. • Are there any widespread, modern Java coding conventions?

  Sun's "Code Conventions for the Java Programming Language" was last updated April 1999. Ten years later a lot has changed in the language, as well as general usage patterns. Are there more up to date, widely adopted standards? Most guidelines omit specifying file encoding and line endings. Sun recommends mixed tabs and spaces. The Eclipse IDE defaults to Eclipse's standard, which is tabs only. The Maven style guide is spaces only. Many style guides, such as JBoss, follow Sun's guidelines, but prefer K&R braces instead of OTBS. Each Apache project has it's own style guide, with slight differences between each one.

I have a basic maven 2 structure for my project, and I'm unsure how to read in the file such that it's found and used when run from the JAR or from within eclipse. Thought? Therefore, we did a sync and then this to flush the cache and buffers: echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches and directly afterwards the I/O wait and service times virtually went through the roof, and everything on the machine felt like slow motion. During the next few hours the latency recovered and everything was as before - small to medium lags in short, unpredictable intervals. Now my question is: does anybody have any idea what might cause this annoying behaviour? Is it the first indication of the disk array or the raid controller dying, or something that can be easily mended by rebooting? (At the moment we're very reluctant to do this, however, because we're afraid that the disks might not come back up again.) Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Chris. Edited to add: we do see one or two processes go to 'D' state in top, one of which seems to be kjournald rather frequently. If I'm not mistaken, however, this does not indicate the processes causing the latency, but rather those affected by it - correct me if I'm wrong.   I'm using mysql to create an hotel booking system, but i am struggling a little bit to calculate the final bill. I need a SELECT command to get data from several tables and make some calculations. Basically I just need to get the 'night cost' from a table called 'room_types'. Then, use DATEDIFF function to get the difference of days between the 'checkin' and 'checkout' columns in the table 'room_booking' and multiply the difference with the night cost and display the total. These are the tables I would be using: are room_booking, room_types, booking, and room.   Hello, I'm using Eclipse IDE + remote Xdebug. EclipseIDE is listening 9000 port for some kind of Xdebug information. There are some php scripts running by cron on server. So, every cron execution xdebug is sending information to my workstation and EclipseIDE is trying to find this file in my project. But file couldn't be find because cron running scrits do not relate to the project I'm working with. So, every cron run Eclipse IDE is alerting this message http://img2.pict.com/22/fc/86/3299517/0/screenshot2b142.png I've tried to add to cron executed php scripts some strings... if (function_exists('xdebug_disable')) { xdebug_disable(); } ... but it didn't helped.   I'm developing a Java plugin for an existing Java program. The existing program uses a specific version of eclipse.uml2.* and my plugin does too. Unfortunately I need a newer version for my plugin. In order to run the plugin, I need to export it into a Jar file (with all jars packed). Then the program executes it. But somehow the new eclipse.uml2.* seem to interfere with the program - it crashes. Is there a way to "separate" both versions of the jar files?

I have a test class that extends a Spring helper class for testNG so that test context can be loaded from an xml file (that contains some bean definitions). • Jquery Ajax Call In For Loop Only Runs Once - Possible Issue with Timing & Exit Condition?

  Background I'm building a form that uses autocomplete against the EchoNest API. First the users picks an artist, using the Artist Suggest call. Next they select a song but the Song and/Or Artist song search doesn't provide a "wild card" search. It only returns exact matches. So based on the forums they suggest building an array of the songs and using auto complete on the array. I can only get a maximum of 100 responses at a time. I do know based on the initial response the number of songs. My Plan: Wrap the ajax call in a for loop ('runonceloop'). Amend the loop exit condition after the first response with the total number of songs. Challenge I'm having: The 'runonceloop' only completes a singe loop because or at least that's what I believe: The exit condition is satisfied before the first response [1] is received. I've tried to adjust the 'exit condition' and 'counter' such that they are set and and increased at the end of the success block. This seems to lock up my browser. Can someone provide some guidance on this situation?[2] I'd really appreciate it. I also don't think turning async off is a good idea because it locks the browser.   I've a table which has customers names along with the products they purchased with their prices. So there are multiple records for each customer. This table is simple 3 column table : name, product and price. What I wanna do is: Put all records belonging to one customer together (I've done it) and just after these rows add one new extra row which would just show total price of all the products each customer has purchased. This row would have empty cell in name and product column. And would have total in price column.

• DDMS Not Showing Threads From Device

  I'd like to check for memory leaks in my Android app using the DDMS feature in Eclipse. When I launch an emulated device, the threads display properly for the emulated device, starting with 8600 and up. However, when I connect my Droid to the PC, the device shows up just fine in DDMS. The logcat is generated correctly, and I can view the file structure. However, threads do not display. I get "no client selected" in the Threads pane, and there is no drop-down icon next to the device listing. Do I need to change some particular setting in Eclipse? Is this maybe a driver issue?

  I'm having an interesting problem signing my Android application, whether or not I'm using a debug key. Regardless of the JDK I have installed to /usr/bin/{java,keytool,jarsigner} (OpenJDK or Sun's JDK) it will always give the following output after compiling successfully: -package-debug-sign: [apkbuilder] Creating RemoteNotify-debug-unaligned.apk and signing it with a debug key... BUILD FAILED /home/ianweller/AndroidSDK/platforms/android-7/templates/android_rules.xml:281: The following error occurred while executing this line: /home/ianweller/AndroidSDK/platforms/android-7/templates/android_rules.xml:152: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.android.jarutils.DebugKeyProvider The application was built and signed just fine by Eclipse with the ADT plugin (even without Sun's JDK installed). I'm on Fedora 12. I'm wanting to get my code out of Eclipse and move it into a git repository, but being unable to build it from ant will not allow this to happen.

  Hello stackoverflowers, Forgive me if this question has been asked and answered, I've searched and found a few that look similar but I'm too much of a novice with SQL to adapt them to my needs. Also forgive me if I don't use the correct terminology, I know it can be annoying when someone asks a question and they don't even know enough to be able to ask for what they need. I'm helping a friend gather some data, and need to perform a query that results in a single row per record, but instead I get multiple rows. Using the minSdkVersion and targetSdkVersion this should run also on Android 1.5: <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="3" android:targetSdkVersion="4"/> However, when I try to launch my app from Eclipse to run in a emulated 1.5, I get the following error: Failed to find an AVD compatible with target 'Android 1.6'. Is this an error of the eclipse tools/emulator? Or how do I get it to also target 1.5 correctly while giving me the option to specify the supported screens?

• MySql: Select all entries with count...

  Hey guys quick question, I have a query that I want to count all entries it finds, and select all so when I use while($row=mysql_fetch_assoc($query)){ it will list all entries. The problem I am encountering is that while, all the entries are successfully counted and the right number is listed, only the latest entry is select and listed when I echo $row['title']. If I delete , COUNT(*) as total then it selects all but I was wondering if it was possible to use count and select *. I was wondering if anyone knew what I am doing wrong?
