    My Rootviewcontroller uses NSURLConnection to get data from a server, and then, based on this data, loads a bunch (like 7) of smaller UIViewControllers that each also use their own NSURLConnection to get some more specific data from the server. But, the problem is, only the RooTViewController is recieving callbacks from: - (void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)theConnection the other UIViewControllers never get callbacks...

  • How do I organise my libraries in sub-directories in a web application project

    I am working on a huge web-application with hundreds of dependencies (jar files). I want to organise the jars in sensible way as each piece of software comes with its bunch of jar files and when I want to remove or upgrade version of that software it will be easier to do if kept in sub directories. Problem is that when using a web-server (I'm using tomcat), all libs need to be under WEB-INF/lib folder, you cannot create subdirectories otherwise it doesn't load the jars in subdirectories.     So I'm having problems when I try to publish the website. I'm in visual studio 2008 sp1. I've got a bunch of user controls and on a few pages I'm using them programatically. I've got a reference on the aspx page <%@ Reference Control="~/UserControls/Foo.ascx" % Then on the code behing I use ASP.usercontrols_foo newFoo control = (ASP.usercontrols_foo)Page.LoadControl("~/UserControls/Foo.ascx"); If I navigate to the page it works fine, but when I goto publish the website I get a compile time error.

Do I really need to go the full fledged way creating a class MemThread(threading.Thread) and overwriting __init__ and __run__?

    I am trying to get one of my developers set up to work on a fairly large .NETCF project. When we try to simply deploy the solution and all of its projects to a target device, deploying one of the projects triggers several assemblies from the desktop framework to be copied from the GAC to the device. What on earth could cause this? The assemblies from the "big" framework are ones like System.DirectoryServices, System.Design, and a bunch of others.

  • Create a user-defined aggregate without SQL CLR

    I am planning on deploying a database to SQL Azure, so I cannot use the SQL CLR. However, I have a need to create an aggregate function -- in my case, I need to STUnion a bunch of Geography objects together. (Azure is expected to support Spatial by June.) Is there another way to accomplish this, without making use of the CLR, in a query? Or do I have to create a UDF that will take a table as a parameter and return the aggregate?

For some reason though, longs compile but floats do not: class MY_CONSTS { public : static const long LONG_CONST = 1; // Compiles static const float FLOAT_CONST = 0.001f; // C2864 }; Gives the following error: 1>c:\projects\myproject\Constant_definitions.h(71) : error C2864: 'MY_CONSTS::FLOAT_CONST' : only static const integral data members can be initialized within a class Am I missing something?

  • Zend_Search_Lucene and range search

    I have a bunch of int key fields in my index and trying to do a simple range search like this: `gender:1 AND height:[120 TO 180]` This should give me male in the height range 120 to 180. But for some reason i get this exception: `At least one range query boundary term must be non-empty term` How would i debug this? Is it just Zend_Search_Lucene being buggy?

    I have a bunch of functions which are currently overloaded to operate on int and string: bool foo(int); bool foo(string); bool bar(int); bool bar(string); void baz(int p); void baz(string p); I then have a bunch of functions taking 1, 2, 3, or 4 arguments of either int or string, which call the aforementioned functions: void g(int p1) { if(foo(p1)) baz(p1); } void g(string p1) { if(foo(p1)) baz(p1); } void g(int p2, int p2) { if(foo(p1)) baz(p1); if(bar(p2)) baz(p2); } void g(int p2, string p2) { if(foo(p1)) baz(p1); if(bar(p2)) baz(p2); } void g(string p2, int p2) { if(foo(p1)) baz(p1); if(bar(p2)) baz(p2); } void g(string p2, string p2) { if(foo(p1)) baz(p1); if(bar(p2)) baz(p2); } // etc. (The implementation of the g() family is just a placeholder. actually they are more complicated.) More types than the current int or string might have to be introduced at any time. The same goes for functions with more arguments than 4. The current number of identical functions is barely manageable. Add one more variant in either dimension and the combinatoric explosion will be so huge, it might blow away the application. In C++, I'd templatize g() and be done. I understand that .NET generics are different. <sigh> But I have been fighting them for two hours trying to come up with a solution that doesn't involve too much copy&paste of code. To no avail. Surely, C#/.NET/generics/whatever won't require me to type out identical code for a family of functions taking five arguments of either of three types? So what am I missing here?
