    I have to simplify this Boolean expression but i quite found it difficult since don't know in which order had to start with. the expression is: (x iff y) or (y iff z) if x found it little complicated to simplify since i don't know the order do I have to write it like: ((x iff y) or (y iff z)) if x or: (x iff y) or ((y iff z) if x) if you can give me a spot on this section of Boolean algebra. and I really will appreciate it if you gave me steps on how to simplify it. and had to say that I already tried a lot, solved a lot, tried wolfram alpha and others too even compared the results using truth tables but get different results and didn't know the right one from them. thanks in advance for your helping

  • Looking for an elegant way to store one-to-many relationship in coredata when order is important

    I've been trying to come up with a way to solve my problem, but every solution I can think of is messy and makes me want to retch. I have a one-to-many relationship, consisting of a Team object that can have many Member objects. When I built my data model using Xcode, I was given the default NSSet in which to store the member objects, Unfortunately Sets are not ordered and I need to preserve the order of the Member objects and I need to know if there are empty spaces between Members. I thought of Using an NSArray in place of the NSSet and creating a dummy Member object in my data store that I could use to mark vacant a spot between to Member objects, but that solution really feels like too much of a hack to me. Since I'll always have to filter out this dummy Member from any queries. An NSDictionary would be perfect as I could store the Member object references and their positions as Object-Key pairs, (taking care of both order and vacancies) but apparently CoreData does not support NSDictionary. Has anyone had a similar need, and devised a simple solution?

    I've run into the same problem as found in this question. However, I have a follow-up question. I seem to be in the same situation as the original asker: I have a plist with a hierarchy of dictionaries that define a configuration screen. These are not mutable and will stay the same throughout the application. Since the original discussion seems to focus on problems arising from mutating the dictionary, I must ask for comfirmation: is the order of a dictionary guaranteed the same as they are in the plist, i.e. as it is read (with initWithContentsOfFile)? Can I use allKeys on it in this case to get a correct-order array of keys if the dictionary never changes?

    Hi, I wrote a quicksort algorithm however, I would like to make a change somewhere so that this quicksort would output elements in descending order. I searched and found that I can change the comparison operator (<) in partition() to other way around (like below). //This is snippet from partition() function while($array[$l] < $pivot) { $l++; } while($array[$r] > $pivot) { $r--; } But it is not working..     I'm having a problem comparing strings in a Unit Test in C# 4.0 using Visual Studio 2010. This same test case works properly in Visual Studio 2008 (with C# 3.5). Here's the relevant code snippet: byte[] rawData = GetData(); string data = Encoding.UTF8.GetString(rawData); Assert.AreEqual("Constant", data, false, CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); While debugging this test, the data string appears to the naked eye to contain exactly the same string as the literal. When I called data.ToCharArray(), I noticed that the first byte of the string data is the value 65279 which is the UTF-8 Byte Order Marker. What I don't understand is why Encoding.UTF8.GetString() keeps this byte around. How do I get Encoding.UTF8.GetString() to not put the Byte Order Marker in the resulting string?

This is easy to do with: SELECT * FROM mytable ORDER BY record_date ASC LIMIT 5 OFFSET 4 Which would give me: record_id | record_date | record_value -----------+-------------+-------------- 6 | 2010-07-01 | 180.00 7 | 2010-08-01 | 175.00 3 | 2010-09-01 | 175.00 8 | 2010-09-01 | 170.00 9 | 2010-10-01 | 165.00 But how do I do this when I don't know how many records there are and can't compute the magic number of 4? I've tried this query, but if there are less than 5 records, it results in a negative OFFSET, which is invalid: SELECT * FROM mytable ORDER BY record_date ASC LIMIT 5 OFFSET (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM mytable) - 5; So how do I accomplish this?

    To those of you who are familiar with zfdatagrid for the Zend framework: I got a recordset by a JOIN query, say from tables s and t, now I want to set the order in which the columns appear in the deployed table. For example, 5th column of table t to appear at the leftmost side, then 3rd column of table s, then 2nd column of table t, then 4th column of table s. How do I do this? Whatever I tried, it always shows first the columns of the left table of the JOIN, then the columns of the right table of the JOIN. I only know how to tell it which columns to show, but not their order. Thanks!

    I am trying to output results of 2 sql queries to one JSON file. The problem is that I would like to order them ascending by distance which is the result of equation that takes homelat and homelon from the users table and lat, lng from locations table.(basically it takes lattitude and longitude of one point and another and computes the distance between these points).   • Proper Install Order For Visual Studio 2010 with SQL Server 2008 and Office 2007?

    I want to create a Windows 7 64-bit (Ultimate) virtual machine with: Visual Studio 2010 (Ultimate) Office 2007 Enterprise (with Visio 2007) SQL Server 2008 (with SSIS and SSRS) but I am not sure if there is a correct order to install those items such that there will not be a loss of "awareness" of one application from another on that list? For example, I want to make sure Visual Studio knows that Office exists but also that Visual Studio knows that SQL Server exists but if I install SQL Server before Office will that wipe out any data access drivers that are needed by VS 2010 if Office is installed after SQL Server? There are a lot of components and I never gave it a thought that install order would matter but I have a feeling it does. Ultimately I want to create a VM that I can save and use a base development VM from which to create additional VMs from.

    I've been reading a lot about the disadvantages of using "order by rand" so I don't need update on that. I was thinking, since I only need a limited amount of rows retrieved from the db to be randomized, maybe I should do: $r = $db->query("select * from table limit 500"); for($i;$i<500;$i++) $arr[$i]=mysqli_fetch_assoc($r); shuffle($arr); (i know this only randomizes the 500 first rows, be it). would that be faster than $r = $db->("select * from table order by rand() limit 500"); let me just mention, say the db tables were packed with more than...10,000 rows. why don't you do it yourself?!? - well, i have, but i'm looking for your experienced opinion. thanks!

    What is the most concise, yet readable way to split a string and put join it back together in a different order. For example, I want to split the following string: 10-20-30-4000-50000 and I would do this via: string[] tokens = original.Split('-'); and now I want to put it back together in this order: 30-20-10-4000-50000 I know I can use Join to put it back together in it's original form, but I don't want that. The only thing I can think of right now is: string modified = string.Format("{0}{1}{2}{3}{4}",tokens[2],tokens[1],tokens[0],tokens[3], tokens[4]); I realized that if I do: string modified = string.Format("{2}{1}{0}{3}{4}", tokens); it does not keep the dashes which is what I want so is to do that, should I just do: string modified = string.Format("{2}-{1}-{0}-{3}-{4}", tokens);

  • Creating a JSONRepresentation of my NSDictionary messes up the order?

    Hi all, To pass data to my webservice, I create an NSDictionary with the objects and keys I need, and use JSONRepresentation to format it nicely so I can post it to my service. It all worked fine with the previous version where only 2 parameters were required. An array with listitems, and a UDID. No I also need to pass a version number because we need to provide more data for people with the application at this new version. Only problem is when I create my JSONRepresentation now, the order of things are all messed up. NSMutableDictionary *rowDict = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] initWithObjectsAndKeys:arrayDict,@"basketListV2",sharedData.udid,@"UDID",@"1.4",@"version",nil]; It prints out version first, then UDID and then basketListV2. Anyone know what I can do to maintain the order of my NSDict? I tried both NSDictionary and NSMutableDictionary (Probably doesn't have to do anything with it but for testing purposes I had to try it.) Thanks in advance. Lewion

  • How to use Xvfb in Ubuntu 14.04 with/without RandR?

    I try to run Unit-Tests with Selenium running Firefox on my Ubuntu 14.04 Server. And I'm using Xvfb as described in this blog to simulate a virtual display to show Firefox in. But Xvfg somehow doesn't load/work with RandR. Because whenever I try this: sudo Xvfb :10 -ac & export DISPLAY=:10 firefox I get an Xlib: extension "RandR" missing on display ":10"-Error. I've also tried sudo Xvfb :10 -ac +extension RANDR, sudo Xvfb :10 -ac -extension RANDR and beacuse it supplies with "xrandr" also apt-get install x11-xserver-utils. And my setup is a plain empty Ubuntu 14.04 Server with apt-get install xvfb firefox. Can anyone please help me run Xvfb with or without RandR?

    I have an old desktop that I'm trying to set up as a home backup/print server. Backup was trivial, but am having issues getting the printing to work. The printer is connected to the server running Ubuntu Server 9.10 (no gui). If I access the printer via http://hostname:631/printers/, I am able to print a test page, so I know the printer is working; however, I am having no luck from Windows. Windows can see the printer when browsed via \hostname\, but I am unable to connect. Windows says "Windows cannot connect to the printer" without indicating why. Any suggestions?     I know about the show desktop keybind (default Ctrl+Alt+D), which I use often enough. However, I'm looking for a way to minimize all windows without activating "show desktop". I'm on a default install (i.e Gnome, Metacity & Compiz). I've looked through all the locations to configure keybinds, that I know. I've also looked at the default keybind list in the Ubuntu wiki and in the Compiz wiki. (Not to mention, searching here.) I'm interested in knowing where it is available, if not in Gnome/Metacity/Compiz, or some other way to accomplish this with a keybind.

  • Is there a way to bridge two outgoing TCP connections in order to bypass firewalls and NAT?

    We're all familiar with the problem of port-forwarding and NAT: if you want to expose something to accepting an incoming connection, you need to configure port-forwarding on the router or conjure up some other black magickery to "punch holes" in the firewall using UDP or something. I'm fairly new to the whole "hole-punching" concept so could someone explain how it works? Essentially, I'd like to understand how hole-punching would work and the theory behind it, as well as if two TCP connections could be bridged via a third party. Since there's no issue with outgoing TCP connections since it's handled with NAT, could a third party bridge the connections so that the two parties are still connected but without the bandwidth cost of traffic going through the third party?
