  • F# Powerpack's Metadata doesn't recognize FSharp.Core as an F# library

    Here's my test code to isolate the problem: open Microsoft.FSharp.Metadata [<EntryPoint>] let main args = let core = FSharpAssembly.FromFile @"C:\Program Files\FSharp-2.0.0.0\\bin\FSharp.Core.dll" let core2 = FSharpAssembly.FSharpLibrary let core3 = System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.GetAssemblies() |> Seq.find (fun a -> a.FullName.Contains "Core") |> FSharpAssembly.FromAssembly core.Entities |> Seq.iter (printfn "%A") 0 All three lets should give me the same FSharpAssembly. Instead, all 3 throw an exception that FSharp.Core is not an F# assembly (details below, re-formatted for readability). Two more clues: Using the core3 method, I get the same error for the test F# assembly itself I don't get the error at FSI after doing #r "@C:\Program Files...\FSharp.Powerpack.Metadata.dll". Any ideas? I'm using Visual Studio 2008, F# 2.0 and F# Powerpack 2.0.0.0 (May 20, 2010) release on an oldish XP VM, I think it's updated to SP3 though. (I got the error this morning with Powerpack 1.9.9.9, so I upgraded to 2.0.0.0. I thought that if 1.9.9.9 doesn't recognise F#'s 2.0.0.0's assemblies, then maybe bugfixes in Powerpack 2.0.0.0 would help.) At first, I thought it might have been how I was declaring my P/Invoke signature, so I tested it from a C program instead, but it still failed in the same way. EDIT If there's a chance it has to do with how I'm compiling the code, here's the command I'm using: cl gvutil.c /I "C:\Program Files (x86)\Graphviz2.26\include\graphviz" /LD /link /LIBPATH:"C:\Program Files (x86)\Graphviz2.26\lib\release" gvc.lib graph.lib cdt.lib pathplan.lib I've been following this tutorial that explains how to use Graphviz as a library, so I linked to the .lib files that it listed.

    Before I describe my problem, here is a description of the program I'm writting: This is a C++ application. The purpose of my program is to create file on RAM memory. I read that if specify FILE_ATTRIBUTE_TEMPORARY | FILE_FLAG_DELETE_ON_CLOSE when creating file it will be loaded direct to the RAM memory. One of blogs that talk about is this one: http://blogs.msdn.com/larryosterman/archive/2004/04/19/116084.aspx I have built a mini-program, but it not achieves the goal. Instead, it creates a file on hard-drive on directory I specify.   • Silverlight Navigation using Mvvm-light(oobe)+MEF?

    What is the best approach for navigating between UserControls/Pages(out of browser experience)? I'm fairly new to Silverlight and even newer to the mvvm pattern. How well does the Navigation Framework Integrate with the MVVM Light Toolkit? A snippet for general application flow control with the two would be great. The plan was to use the Navigation Framework for general flow or using Jeremy Likeness's approach to region management(http://csharperimage.jeremylikness.com/search/label/regions) and swapping out regions as needed. I've seen a few places mention replacing the Visual Root, but that sounded like a hack to me. Any advice, snippets, or a nudge in the general direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • VB.Net plugin using Matlab COM Automation Server...Error: 'Could not load Interop.MLApp'

    My Problem: I am using Matlab COM Automation Server to call and execute matlab .m files from a VB.Net plugin for a CAD program called Rhino 3D. The code works flawlessly when set up as a simple Windows Application in Visual Studio, but when I insert it (and make the requisite reference) into my .Net plugin and test it in the CAD program I get the following error: "Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.MLApp, Version 1.0.0.0, culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. the system cannot find the file specified." What I've Tried: I am baffled as to why this occurs, but I was able to contact the CAD program's technical support staff and they suggested that it has something to do with their DotNet SDK having trouble with references that are located far outside the CAD program directory. They didn't have any solutions so I tried playing around with copylocal and this made no difference. I tried using other COM libraries and the Open Office automation server works fine, although uses url's instead of requiring a reference. I also tested Excel, which does require a reference, and it returned the error: "retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {...} failed due to the following error: 80040154." This may or may not be related to the issue with the Matlab COM reference, but I thought was worthwhile to share. Perhaps is there another way to reference Interop.MLApp? I would appreciate any suggestions or thoughts on how I might make the Matlab Interop.MLApp reference work. Best regards, Ben

    I'm trying to get my UiBinder-defined widget to display inline, but I can't. The HTMLPanel is a div, but I can't get the display attribute to assign. I can't force the style name, since the following throws an error: <g:HTMLPanel styleNames="{style.section}"> And I can assign an additional style, but it doesn't apply the display setting. <g:HTMLPanel addStyleNames="{style.section}"> This displays the border and sets the size, as expected, but it doesn't flow. Firebug shows the styles on the div are border, width, and padding, but no display. Is there a way to make a widget in UiBinder so that it'll display inline instead of block? And if so, can I make it compatible with having a VerticalPanel inside (can I do it without making the entire widget pure HTML without any GWT widgets)? PS: I saw question 2257924 but it hasn't had any answers lately, and he seems to be focused on getting a tag, not specifically getting inline layout. I don't care directly about , if I can just get the top-level tag for my widget to flow inline, I'm happy.

  • PyQt WebKit CSS background image not showing

    I'm making a Twitter client with PyQt, which uses WebKit to draw the tweet list. Now I'm trying to use CSS to set a background image in the WebKit widget - but the image won't show up. This is the relevant part of the CSS: body { background-image: url("gradient2.jpg"); } The file name is correctly spelled, and it is located in the same directory as the Python program, which is also where I start the program from (so the image file should be in PWD). To check if WebKit somehow looks for the image in the wrong directory anyway, I ran my program through strace, which creates a log of all system calls made by the program. And surprisingly, the name of the image does not appear in the log - so it seems as if WebKit doesn't even try to find it. To verify that my CSS is used at all by WebKit, I tried changing it to a solid background color instead of an image: body { background: #CCFFCC; } And that works. So I know that the CSS is used, that's not the problem. Could it be that WebKit refuses to use "ordinary" files in the filesystem, and that I somehow have to create some sort of "resource" file containing my image in Qt Designer?

  • How to create a folder under %allusersprofile% during Setup with VS 2003 Setup Project?

    I need to create a folder under "%allusersprofile%/Program Data" during the install process. The Setup file is created with VS 2003 setup project, and in it you can use several Known Folders... but as I see none maps to %allusersprofile% or "%allusersprofile%/Program Data". I thought that creating a "Custom Folder" (within VS Setup Project) and setting the TargetLocation as %allusersprofile% it would work, but during install it says that I don't have permission to that folder (and I do have). Do you know how to target that folder in VS Setup Project? Also... I'm working in Windows XP, so %allusersprofile% maps to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users", but there I suppose I should create my folder inside the "Program Data" folder. In Vista, %allusersprofile% maps to "C:\ProgramData" and it look correct if I create my folder directly there. Any idea how to target both OSs? Additional info: I'm trying this to avoid the new security features in Vista, where the app can't write files under the Program Files folder when running as a common user at least. So I need to place the writable files on "common" folder that is not in a "per user" basis.

  • In Javascript event handling, why "return false" or "event.preventDefault()" and "stopping the event

    It is said that when we handle a "click event", returning false or calling event.preventDefault() makes a difference, in which the difference is that preventDefault will only prevent the default event action to occur, i.e. a page redirect on a link click, a form submission, etc. and return false will also stop the event flow. Does that mean, if the click event is registered several times for several actions, using $('#clickme').click(function() { … }) returning false will stop the other handlers from running? Being a Django n00b, I'm trying to figure out how to implement a flow like this: User signs up using django-registation with 'active' flag set to 0 After registering, send user to PayPal for a subscription When they come back from PayPal successfully, I want to set 'active' to 1 I've been looking at the django-registration documentation and don't quite understand how to use different backends or implement a flow the way I want. Any tips on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. django-paypal won't be a problem for me as I've done PayPal integration before (in PHP for a self-published book about CakePHP).

  • How to sketch out an event-driven system?

    I'm trying to design a system in Node.js (an attempt at solving one of my earlier problems, using Node's concurrency) but I'm running into trouble figuring out how to draw a plan of how the thing should operate. I'm getting very tripped up thinking in terms of callbacks instead of returned values. The flow isn't linear, and it's really boggling my ability to draft it. How does one draw out an operational flow for an event-driven system? I need something I can look at and say "Ok, yes, that's how it will work. I'll start it over here, and it will give me back these results over here." Pictures would be very helpful for this one. Thanks. Edit: I'm looking for something more granular than UML, specifically, something that will help me transition from a blocking and object-oriented programming structure, where I'm comfortable, to a non-blocking and event driven structure, where I'm unfamiliar.

    I have a bipartite graph. I am looking for a maximum (1,n) "matching", which means that each vertex from partitation A has n associated vertices from partition B. The following figure shows a maximum (1,3) matching in a graph. Edges selected for the matching are red and unselected edges are black. This differs from the standard bipartite matching problem where each vertex is associate with only one other vertex, which could be called (1,1) matching with this notation. If the matching cardinality (n) is not enforced but is an upper bound (vertices from A can have 0 < x <= n associated vertices from B), then the maximum matching can be found easily by transforming the graph to a flow network and finding the max flow. However, this does not guarantee that the maximum number of vertices from A will have n associated pairs from B.

Then I'm trying to write a program that adds only the odd numbers up to the number the user enters and displays the total. So for example if the user enters 4 my program should add four odd numbers. 1 + 3 + 5 + 7 = 16. The only tools I have available are for statement, if, if/else if,while loop and println. I can only figure out how to print out the odd numbers.     I have the need to create a Desktop Shortcut to an existing FOLDER (NOT to a file) using Wix. To elaborate more, my installer program has a CustomAction program written using C# associated with it. This CustomAction program creates a folder named "BSS" of which the path is selected by user. C:\ProgramData\MT\BSS Now I need to place a Desktop Shortcut to this folder using WiX. However, I encounter a problem since this folder does not have a folder structure within WiX.   • Possible Data Execution Prevention problem in Windows 7

    I have a serious problem with my .Net program. It calls a native dll, and then crashes instantly because it can't find a native method. This is behaviour we have seen before, whereby the C# compiler, in its infinite wisdom, sets the flag that the program is DEP compatible, even if it calls a native dll which patently is not. We have the standard workaround for this, where the flag is set to Not DEP Compatible in a post-build step, and this works fine. Everywhere except on my machine. I have Windows 7 32bit, and the program works fine on the Win 7 64bit machines that we have, as well as on Vista and XP; we have not yet been able to check on another Win7 32bit. However, on my machine the DataExecutionPolicy_SupportPolicy is 0, i.e. we have successfully switched DEP off. The dll in question also works fine when called from a native program. We are running out of ideas... any help would be much appreciated!

  • How to preprocess text to do OCR error correction

    Here is what I'm trying to accomplish: I need to get a several large text files from a computer that is not networked and has no other output except a printer. I tried printing the text, then scanning the printout with OCR to recover the text on another computer but the OCR gets lots of errors (1 vs l, o vs 0, O vs D, etc). To solve this I am thinking of writing a program to process (annotate?) the text file, before printing it, so that the errors can be corrected from the text output of the OCR program. For example, for 1 (number one) vs l (letter L), I could change the text like this: sample inserting \nnn after characters that are frequently wrong in the OCR results: sampl\108e Then I can write another program to examine the file, looking for \nnn and check the character before the \nnn (where nnn is the ascii code in decimal) and fix it if necessary. Of course the program will have to recognize that the \nnn may have errors too but at least it knows that the nnn are digits and can easily correct them. I think I would add a CRC on each line so that any line that isn't corrected perfectly can be flagged as having a problem. Has anyone done anything like this? If there is an existing way of doing this I'd rather not reinvent the wheel. Or any suggestions for annotation format that would help solve this problem would be helpful too.
