    Hello; I am new to Objective C, and am trying to write a class that defines a complex number. The code seems fine but when I print to the console, my values for instance variables are 0.     I'm developing a huge console application for Unix using C# via Mono. If I develop that app using M Visual Studio and .NET 3.5 and I carefully neglect to use win32 specific API calls, should I expect that application to automatically work in my Unix box? Or should I just get MonoDevelop and go the Mono way?

  • problem with reload data from table view after come back from another view

    I have a problem in my application. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Basically it is from view A to view B, and then come back from view B. In the view A, it has dynamic data loaded in from the database, and display on the table view. In this page, it also has the edit button, not on the navigation bar. When user tabs the edit button, it goes to the view B, which shows the pick view. And user can make any changes in here. Once that is done, user tabs the back button on the navigation bar, it saves the changes into the NSUserDefaults, goes back to the view A by pop the view B. When coming back to the view A, it should get the new data from the UIUserDefaults, and it did. I user NSLog to print out to the console and it shows the correct data. Also it should invoke the viewWillAppear: method to get the new data for the table view, but it didn't. It even did not call the tableView:numberOfRowsInSection: method. I place a NSLog statement inside this method but didn't print out in the console. as the result, the view A still has the old data. the only way to get the new data in the view A is to stop and start the application. both view A and view B are the subclass of UIViewController, with UITableViewDelegate and UITableViewDataSource. here is my code in the view A : - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { NSLog(@"enter in Schedule2ViewController ..."); // load in data from database, and store into NSArray object //[self.theTableView reloadData]; [self.theTableView setNeedsDisplay]; //[self.theTableView setNeedsLayout]; } in here, the "theTableView" is a UITableView variable.     I have a large website in development with a large amount of JS in different files. I have come across an issue where something is removing a class from the DOM. I can see it when I view source but not in Firebug. Normally I would place some alerts/console.log calls with the hasClass value but because I have no idea where to start I wanted to know if I can trace the change back when it occurs somehow? Denis

    can you update your 2.3.5 app with just "gem update rails" and change the version # in environment.rb? I did that and lots of errors came out like in console just typing Post.all would show "undefined method `retrieve_connection' for nil:NilClass". Any ideas?     How convert a string into a ActiveSupport::TimeWithZone? My dilemma is this. I need to update a field (called updated_at). The field in mysql is datetime, and the class is ActiveSupport::TimeWithZone. But the dates are strings like "10/17/2008". I used "10/17/2008".to_date (And I intend .to_time and to_datetime), and even if in console the ActiveRecord class save succesfully, the field in the database still is the current date...   • Trouble setting IE8 browser mode to IE7

    Inspite of putting the following meta tag I am not getting the expected result: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" > I open the developer tool window. In the same bar where the menu appears there is an item called Browser Mode: it still shows IE 8 by default. Even doing document.documentMode in the console window shows "8". Am I doing anything wrong?

    I'm calling Powershell like so: C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe -noprofile -noninteractive -nologo -file "C:\Users\dummy\Documents\dev\powershell\samples\test.ps1" I'm calling it from a python script, but the same problem can be observed if called via a shortcut. I thought the -NonInteractive flag would cause Poweshell to execute in a hidden window, but it doesn't. Is there a way of supressing the console window when calling Powershell from an external application?   • app icon not showing in iphone simulator

    I have a 57x57 PNG file in the root of my bundle, and the "Icon file" setting in my .plist file has the correct filename, but when the app is installed to the simulator, the icon is the default grey/white one. I've tried deleting my app from the simulator (both through the simulator and through rm -rf on the app directory from the console), I've tried cleaning my target, and I've tried renaming my app icon, all to no avail. What do I have to do to get the icon showing?

  • Problem with Xcode organizer screen capture

    I'm currently running Xcode 3.2.2 on Snow Leopard. When opening Organizer Screenshots I see a list of screenshots I did before. But when I click the Capture button, nothing's happening. I don't see any messages popping up or any errors from the Console tab. I also tried restoring the iPod Touch (2nd gen) but that didn't help. Any thoughts? Thanks!
