  • Adding Items to an Inner (Nested) ListView

    - by Corey O.
I have 2 asp:ListView controls, one embedded in the other (OuterListView and InnerListView respectively). I am trying to add an asp:linkbutton in the InnerListView layout that will allow the user to add an item to the InnerListView. Unfortunately, when I handle the OnClick event in the linkbutton control, I can't figure out how to get a handle on the asp:linkbutton's parent ListView from within the codebehind handler. Obviously, there is no global handle since there are multiple inner listviews. I can link code if necessary.

  • Android - exception from an AsynchTask call

    - by GeekedOut
    I have an Activity that makes a remote server call and tries to populate a list. The call to the server works fine, and the call returns some JSON which is good. But then the system throws this exception: 04-06 18:43:19.626: D/AndroidRuntime(2564): Shutting down VM 04-06 18:43:19.626: W/dalvikvm(2564): threadid=1: thread exiting with uncaught exception (group=0x409c01f8) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): FATAL EXCEPTION: main 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): java.lang.NullPointerException 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.widget.ArrayAdapter.createViewFromResource(ArrayAdapter.java:394) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.widget.ArrayAdapter.getView(ArrayAdapter.java:362) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.widget.AbsListView.obtainView(AbsListView.java:2033) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.widget.ListView.measureHeightOfChildren(ListView.java:1244) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.widget.ListView.onMeasure(ListView.java:1155) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.view.View.measure(View.java:12723) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.view.ViewGroup.measureChildWithMargins(ViewGroup.java:4698) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.widget.LinearLayout.measureChildBeforeLayout(LinearLayout.java:1369) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.widget.LinearLayout.measureVertical(LinearLayout.java:660) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.widget.LinearLayout.onMeasure(LinearLayout.java:553) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.view.View.measure(View.java:12723) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.view.ViewGroup.measureChildWithMargins(ViewGroup.java:4698) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.widget.FrameLayout.onMeasure(FrameLayout.java:293) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.view.View.measure(View.java:12723) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.widget.LinearLayout.measureVertical(LinearLayout.java:812) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.widget.LinearLayout.onMeasure(LinearLayout.java:553) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.view.View.measure(View.java:12723) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.view.ViewGroup.measureChildWithMargins(ViewGroup.java:4698) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.widget.FrameLayout.onMeasure(FrameLayout.java:293) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow$DecorView.onMeasure(PhoneWindow.java:2092) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.view.View.measure(View.java:12723) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.view.ViewRootImpl.performTraversals(ViewRootImpl.java:1064) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.view.ViewRootImpl.handleMessage(ViewRootImpl.java:2442) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:137) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4424) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:511) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:784) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:551) 04-06 18:43:19.686: E/AndroidRuntime(2564): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) Why would this happen? • Few iPhone noob questions

    - by mshsayem
Why should I declare local variables as 'static' inside a method? Like: static NSString *cellIdentifier = @"Cell"; Is it a performance advantage? (I know what 'static' does; in C context) What does this syntax mean?[someObj release], someObj = nil; Two statements? Why should I assign nil again? Is not 'release' enough? Should I do it for all objects I allocate/own? Or for just view objects? Why does everyone copy NSString, but retains other objects (in property declaration)? Yes, NSStrings can be changed, but other objects can be changed also, right? Then why 'copy' for just NSString, not for all? Is it just a defensive convention? Shouldn't I release constant NSString? Like here:NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; Why not? Does the compiler allocate/deallocate it for me? In some tutorial application I observed these (Built with IB): Properties(IBOutlet, with same ivar name): window, someLabel, someTextField, etc etc... In the dealloc method, although the window ivar was released, others were not. My question is: WHY? Shouldn't I release other ivars(labels, textField) as well? Why not? Say, I have 3 cascaded drop-down lists. I mean, based on what is selected on the first list, 2nd list is populated and based on what is selected on the second list, 3rd list is populated. What UI components can reflect this best? How is drop-down list presented in iPhone UI? Tableview with UIPicker? When should I update the 2nd, 3rd list? Or just three labels which have touch events? Can you give me some good example tutorials about Core-Data? (Not just simple data fetching and storing on 2/3 tables with 1/2 relationship) How can I know whether my app is leaking memory? Any tools?

  • Can I avoid a threaded UDP socket in Python dropping data?

    - by 666craig
First off, I'm new to Python and learning on the job, so be gentle! I'm trying to write a threaded Python app for Windows that reads data from a UDP socket (thread-1), writes it to file (thread-2), and displays the live data (thread-3) to a widget (gtk.Image using a gtk.gdk.pixbuf). I'm using queues for communicating data between threads. My problem is that if I start only threads 1 and 3 (so skip the file writing for now), it seems that I lose some data after the first few samples. After this drop it looks fine. Even by letting thread 1 complete before running thread 3, this apparent drop is still there. Apologies for the length of code snippet (I've removed the thread that writes to file), but I felt removing code would just prompt questions. Hope someone can shed some light :-) import socket import threading import Queue import numpy import gtk gtk.gdk.threads_init() import gtk.glade import pygtk class readFromUDPSocket(threading.Thread): def __init__(self, socketUDP, readDataQueue, packetSize, numScans): threading.Thread.__init__(self) self.socketUDP = socketUDP self.readDataQueue = readDataQueue self.packetSize = packetSize self.numScans = numScans def run(self): for scan in range(1, self.numScans + 1): buffer = self.socketUDP.recv(self.packetSize) self.readDataQueue.put(buffer) self.socketUDP.close() print 'myServer finished!' class displayWithGTK(threading.Thread): def __init__(self, displayDataQueue, image, viewArea): threading.Thread.__init__(self) self.displayDataQueue = displayDataQueue self.image = image self.viewWidth = viewArea[0] self.viewHeight = viewArea[1] self.displayData = numpy.zeros((self.viewHeight, self.viewWidth, 3), dtype=numpy.uint16) def run(self): scan = 0 try: while True: if not scan % self.viewWidth: scan = 0 buffer = self.displayDataQueue.get(timeout=0.1) self.displayData[:, scan, 0] = numpy.fromstring(buffer, dtype=numpy.uint16) self.displayData[:, scan, 1] = numpy.fromstring(buffer, dtype=numpy.uint16) self.displayData[:, scan, 2] = numpy.fromstring(buffer, dtype=numpy.uint16) gtk.gdk.threads_enter() self.myPixbuf = gtk.gdk.pixbuf_new_from_data(self.displayData.tostring(), gtk.gdk.COLORSPACE_RGB, False, 8, self.viewWidth, self.viewHeight, self.viewWidth * 3) self.image.set_from_pixbuf(self.myPixbuf) self.image.show() gtk.gdk.threads_leave() scan += 1 except Queue.Empty: print 'myDisplay finished!' pass def quitGUI(obj): print 'Currently active threads: %s' % threading.enumerate() gtk.main_quit() if __name__ == '__main__': # Create socket (IPv4 protocol, datagram (UDP)) and bind to address socketUDP = socket.socket(socket.AF_INET, socket.SOCK_DGRAM) host = '192.168.1.5' port = 1024 socketUDP.bind((host, port)) # Data parameters samplesPerScan = 256 packetsPerSecond = 1200 packetSize = 512 duration = 1 # For now, set a fixed duration to log data numScans = int(packetsPerSecond * duration) # Create array to store data data = numpy.zeros((samplesPerScan, numScans), dtype=numpy.uint16) # Create queue for displaying from readDataQueue = Queue.Queue(numScans) # Build GUI from Glade XML file builder = gtk.Builder() builder.add_from_file('GroundVue.glade') window = builder.get_object('mainwindow') window.connect('destroy', quitGUI) view = builder.get_object('viewport') image = gtk.Image() view.add(image) viewArea = (1200, samplesPerScan) # Instantiate & start threads myServer = readFromUDPSocket(socketUDP, readDataQueue, packetSize, numScans) myDisplay = displayWithGTK(readDataQueue, image, viewArea) myServer.start() myDisplay.start() gtk.gdk.threads_enter() gtk.main() gtk.gdk.threads_leave() print 'gtk.main finished!'

  • How to give focus to default program of shell-opened file, from Java ?

    - by Rabarberski
From within Java, I am opening an Excel file with the default file handler (MS Excel, in this case :-) ) using the method described in this stackoverflow question: Desktop dt = Desktop.getDesktop(); dt.open(new File(filename)); However, the Excel program doesn't get the focus. Is there any easy way to do so? Edit: There is a related stackoverflow question for C#, but I didn't find any similar Java method.

  • Java Swing: how to listen to JComboBox's width changes?

    - by agnieszka
I tried PropertyChangeListener with property set to "width", "Width", "size" and "Size". PropertyChangeListener widthChangeListener = new PropertyChangeListener() { @Override public void propertyChange(PropertyChangeEvent evt) { //code } }; streamsComboBox.addPropertyChangeListener("width", widthChangeListener); projectsComboBox.addPropertyChangeListener("width", widthChangeListener); vobsComboBox.addPropertyChangeListener("width", widthChangeListener); Nothing works - the handler method is never fired. What should I do to handle JComboBox's size change? Where does the property name come from anyway?

  • CSS image float div problem in IE6

    - by Ben Dauphinee
In the bottom cap of this page (bottom with corners) I seem to be having a weird IE6 issue. I've tried Google with no luck, as really, how do you ask this question. In IE6, the corner images that are floated left and right seem to cause the whitespace to drop. http://www.duncanhadleytriathlon.ca/ Any suggestions for why this may be?

This one has me stumped, I need to re-write all requests to the javascript folder (js) to a special library handler system. e.g. rewrite http://localhost/admin/js/bar.js --> http://localhost/_lib/=admin/js/bar.js Any ideas? I have tried the following which creates an error RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^(.*)$ RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /%1/_lib/$1 [NC] (36)File name to long: cannot map GET /admin/js/bar.js to file

  • How do you set the default source for the Output window in Visual Studio?

    - by Grank
We added a SharePoint BDC model project to a solution in Visual Studio 2010. Ever since, whenever the solution is built, instead of showing the Build output in the Output window, it insists on having "SharePoint Tools" selected in the "Show Output from:" drop-down, just to say "Model validation started ... Model validation completed with no errors." Short of shutting off any SharePoint projects in the build configuration, can this behavior be overridden?

  • Releasing the keyboard stops shake events. Why?

    - by Moshe
    1) How do I make a UITextField resign the keyboard and hide it? The keyboard is in a dynamically created subview whose superview looks for shake events. Resigning first responder seems to break the shake event handler. 2) how do you make the view holding the keyboard transparent, like see through glass? I have seen this done before. This part has been taken care of thanks guys. As always, code samples are appreciated. I've added my own to help explain the problem. EDIT: Basically, - (void)motionBegan:(UIEventSubtype)motion withEvent:(UIEvent *)event; gets called in my main view controller to handle shaking. When a user taps on the "edit" icon (a pen, in the bottom of the screen - not the traditional UINavigationBar edit button), the main view adds a subview to itself and animates it on to the screen using a custom animation. This subview contains a UINavigationController which holds a UITableView. The UITableView, when a cell is tapped on, loads a subview into itself. This second subview is the culprit. For some reason, a UITextField in this second subview is causing problems. When a user taps on the view, the main view will not respond to shakes unless the UITextField is active (in editing mode?). Additional info: My Motion Event Handler: - (void)motionBegan:(UIEventSubtype)motion withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { NSLog(@"%@", [event description]); SystemSoundID SoundID; NSString *soundFile = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"shake" ofType:@"aif"]; AudioServicesCreateSystemSoundID((CFURLRef)[NSURL fileURLWithPath:soundFile], &SoundID); AudioServicesPlayAlertSound(SoundID); [self genRandom:TRUE]; } The genRandom: Method: /* Generate random label and apply it */ -(void)genRandom:(BOOL)deviceWasShaken{ if(deviceWasShaken == TRUE){ decisionText.text = [NSString stringWithFormat: (@"%@", [shakeReplies objectAtIndex:(arc4random() % [shakeReplies count])])]; }else{ SystemSoundID SoundID; NSString *soundFile = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"string" ofType:@"aif"]; AudioServicesCreateSystemSoundID((CFURLRef)[NSURL fileURLWithPath:soundFile], &SoundID); AudioServicesPlayAlertSound(SoundID); decisionText.text = [NSString stringWithFormat: (@"%@", [pokeReplies objectAtIndex:(arc4random() % [pokeReplies count])])]; } } shakeReplies and pokeReplies are both NSArrays of strings. One is used for when a certain part of the screen is poked and one is for when the device is shaken. The app will randomly choose a string from the NSArray and display onscreen. For those of you who work graphically, here is a diagram of the view hierarchy: Root View -> UINavigationController -> UITableView -> Edit View -> Problem UITextfield

  • Server.Execute - render .ASP from MVC controller action

    - by David Lively
I need to render an ASP page to a string from an MVC controller action. I can use Server.Execute() to render a .aspx page, but not a .asp page. Here's what I'm using: public ActionResult Index() { Server.Execute("/default.asp"); return new EmptyResult(); } which returns `No http handler was found for request type 'GET'` Any suggestions? I can do something similar with with a web request, but I'd rather avoid the overhead of a loopback request.

  • Can't get jQuery AutoComplete to work with External JSON

I'm working on an ASP.NET app where I'm in need of jQuery AutoComplete. Currently there is nothing happening when I type data into the txt63 input box (and before you flame me for using a name like txt63, I know, I know... but it's not my call :D ). I'm trying to get it working with the new one because I heard that the "dev" CDN was going to be obsolete. Any help or direction will be greatly appreciated.
