• Routing audio from GSM module to a Bluetooth HandsFree device

  I have a system with the following setup: I use: Windows CE 6 R3 Microsoft's Bluetooth stack including all profiles Motorola H500 The Audio Gateway service is up and running (checked through services list in cmd) GSM Module is functional - I am able to set outgoing calls and to answer calls. Bluetooth is functional - the A2DP profile plays music to Motorola headphones (can't remember the model right now) I want to hold a conversation using a headset device. I have included all Bluetooth components in the catalog. I pair the device using the Control Panel applet. When I press the button on the Motorla device to answer a call I get a print by the Audio Gateway: BTAGSVC: ConnectionEvent. BTAGSVC: SCOListenThread_Int - Connection Event. BTAGSVC: ConnectionEvent. BTAGSVC: SCOListenThread_Int - Connection Event. BTAGSVC: ConnectionEvent. BTAGSVC: A Bluetooth peer device has connected to the Audio Gateway. BTAGSVC: Could not open registry key for BT Addr: 2. BTAGSVC: The peer device was not accepted since the user has never confirmed it as a device to be used. So my questions are as follows: What do I need to do to pair the device with the Audio Gateway? Once my device is paired, do I need to set anything else up? (except for the GSM module of course)

  I want to run Protovis javascript from Java and get the evaluated SVG code. (Incidentally, I know of examples that use Rhino to do this from the Google discussion group.)

• How can I enable PHP5 for a site? Having problems with every single method.

  I'm working on a client site that is hosted on someone's DIY Debian Linux server [Apache/1.3.33 (Debian GNU/Linux)], and I'm trying to install a script that requires PHP5. By default, the server parses .php files with PHP 4.3.10-22, which is configured at /etc/php4/apache/php.ini, according to phpinfo(). On the server I can see a config directory for PHP5 adjacent to the PHP4 directory: /etc/php5.0/apache2/php.ini. I have tried multiple methods to enable PHP5 for the document root where the site's files are hosted, including all available methods mentioned here. By far, the most common suggestion I've found is to add one or both of the following lines to the site's .htaccess file: AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php Trouble is, when either or both of those lines are present, the site forces my browser to download any .php files requested, without parsing the PHP at all. All of the other methods mentioned in the above article cause a 500 Internal Server Error. There is no hosting control panel I can access in a browser to enable PHP5 for the site, but I do have shell access. When I asked the server administrator about this issue, he encouraged me to search for the answer on Google. Where could I begin to troubleshoot this issue? Are there ways to test or verify the server's specific PHP5 installation and configuration, using the command line or some other method? Do you have other suggestions to enable PHP5?

• Having trouble adding jquery to charisma

  I am trying to add some jquery to this Charisma admin panel and have been having nothing but trouble. I am trying to add it to the charisma.js file. My class and div tags are correct for the code, as I have checked them several times for misspellings. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Is there a better "check" all code I can use here, or am I just putting this all in the wrong place? UPDATE: I think the actual code may be working, I cannot tell, after I click the select all box it seems that I have to click the other boxes 3 times to get the check mark back into the box, so it seems like it is having trouble actually showing that the box is marked. This may be a problem with styling, but I don't know how to correct it.

  I am looking to code a file storage application in perl similar to amazon s3. I already have a amazon s3 clone that I found online called parkplace but its in ruby and is old also isn't built for high loads. I am not really sure what modules and programs I should use so id like some help picking them out. My requirements are listed below (yes I know there are lots but I could start simple then add more once I get it going): Easy API implementation for client side apps. (maybe REST (?) Centralized database server for the USERDB (maybe PostgreSQL (?). Logging of all connections, bandwidth used, well pretty much everything to a centralized server (maybe PostgreSQL again (?). Easy server side configuration (config file(s) stored on the servers). Web based control panel for admin(s) and user(s) to show logs. (could work just running queries from the databases) Fast High Uptime Low memory usage Some sort of load distribution/load balancer (maybe a dns based or pound or perlbal or something else (?). Maybe a cache of some sort (memcached or parlbal or something else (?). Thanks in advance

• How to get image's coordinate on JPanel

  This question is related to my previous question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2376027/how-to-generate-cartesian-coordinate-x-y-from-gridbaglayout I have successfully get the coordinate of each pictures, however when I checked the coordinate through (System.out.println) and the placement of the images on the screen, it seems to be wrong. e.g. if on the screen it was obvious that the x point of the first picture is on cell 2 which is on coordinate of 20, but the program shows x=1. • jquery ui-tabs widget , changing the color of the background with css causes problem with display

  I'm using the jquery tabs plugin and want to have the background a light grey color. In the css section for tabs, I found this line of code where I manually added the background-color part: .ui-tabs .ui-tabs-panel { padding: 1em 1em; display: block; border-width: 0; background-color:#EEEEEE;} The problem comes as seen in the picture below, where the grey background is only extending down part of the way. I initially thought I could update the div container with the same background color, but it didn't work. It looks like that white portion below might be some kind of padding, so I looked for that in the css but everything I tried had the same effect. Anyone got some ideas? However, I sometimes want to set the values of the parent and target from a DB (I want to default them, based on a code entered by the user; the whole thing is wrapped in an update panel). So if the user keys in ABC, I look up ABC in the DB and default the Parent DropDown to ID 10 and Child DropDown to ID 101. However, this fails because the child has no items when the server side code runs (the web script method hasn't run, because the content of the parent dd wasn't changed on the client side) Does anybody know how to work around this? • Different location of assemblies stoped the type casting.

  I am writing a custom Control class in C# for my main project. There're 2 projects, one for my Control and one for my main project. These 2 projects are in the same solution. I add a reference from my main project to my Control project. I notice that the first time after I drag my Control from the Tool Panel onto my main winform, an assembly folder was generated at the C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0\ProjectAssemblies, and the folder name is something like "jlebh-py01". The first build is always OK, but after I rebuild my Control class or whole solution, a new assembly folder will be generated at C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0\ProjectAssemblies, and then problem arises, my Control fails to behave well because Visual Studio says that the two types "originates from different location". The error message is as below: [A]MyControl.TypeXXX cannot be cast to [B]MyControl.TypeXXX. Type A orginates from assemblyXXX at location 'C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0\ProjectAssemblies\jlebh-py01\MyControl.dll' Type B originats from assemblyXXX at location 'C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0\ProjectAssemblies\ue4i-z3j01\MyControl.dll' If I reference the Control DLL directly instead of through project reference, or never rebuild the Control project after use my Control in the main project, things seem to be OK. Does anyone knows why? Is it the proper way to develop a control and a main project within the same solution? Many thanks...

• NSOutlineview - strange behavior after reloading data

  I have a NSOutlineView which loads data from a data source. The table is displayed in a panel. The items shown in the table are items which belong to an object (the relation is one-to many between the object and the items). I have a list of objects in a combo box (in fact a NSPopupButton), and when I select another object in the combo box, I want it's items to be shown in the table (the NSOutlineView). I managed to do all this , however when I select another object from the combo box, not all of it's items are displayed. I have put some logging messages in the data source and it seems that there are some items that are being returned from the data source , but are not shown in the table (and are not queried for children). Now the strange part is that when I click the main window (as I said, all that I described here is in a NSPanel loaded on top of the window) , all the data is displayed correctly. It seems as if clicking the main window triggers something in the NSOutlineView that makes it display the missing items, but I can't tell what it is.

• GWT forced height HTMLPanel

  Hello, I'm developing a GWT project, and I encountered a problematic cross-browsering problem. When using firefox, there are problems with the display of all the pages. I found the reason why : In UIBinder, each of my pages are wrapped by a "g:HTMLPanel" : at start and at the end of the xml file, to wrap the content of all the pages When doing this, the generated code of the panel goes like this : div style="width: 100%; height: 100%; .... The problem is that "height : 100%". If I remove it with firebug, the display is perfect. So my goal is to programatically remove that generated 100% height.. But no way to do it ! I tried everything : setHeight, setSize, working on the Element itself with getElement().methods()... I tried to do things like style.clear(), everything that could have a chance to work.. But in the generated code that "height: 100%" will ALWAYS be there. If I set it's height to "50%" or "50px" it has no effect at all. I even tried to give it an ID, then with pure javascript to change it's style, but no solution either.. Note : I'm sure that I'm working on the right element : adding a styleName, for example, works well. Any idea ? Your help would be really appreciated, I have no clue of how to remove this bit of generated code, and I've been looking for hours already :(:(:(:( Best regards, Nils

• GWT Html Layout Conventions

  I've just started working with GWT and I'm already recognizing the extraordinary power that it possesses. I'm coming from a frontend world so the Java is a big learning curve, but I think that will actually help me build a properly laid out app (html-wise) instead of just relying on the default GWT panels that often end up using tables for layout, or superfluous, absolutely positioned divs. The biggest thing slowing me down right now however is deciding how to properly lay out the design of my site. I've got a pretty standard 2-col header/foot site (fixed width) that I want to design, but I'm not a fan of all the extra divs/styling etc that come with the DockLayoutPanel for instance. I'm thinking that I should just write my own Layout widget extending Composite that has HTMLPanels for the general site layout (I think... still haven't fully figured that out yet, ie. how do I add ID's to these panel divs "#header", "#nav" etc...) then I can add other widgets into this layout But the other thing I'm seeing is that I could write a Layout class extending UiBuilder and have straight up divs in the ui.xml file. I'm just wondering, what is the preferred method for site layout with GWT? This isn't going to be re-used in the sense of other widgets, it will be used once and my controls etc will be placed inside. Any tips or tricks are greatly appreciated! And if I've completely missed the boat on how to do this, let me know

  How can I place an image within the cell boundary? I mean without taking the space of other cell? In the code below, random cells were selected to display images. One image in one cell. • C# trying to capture the KeyDown event on a form

  Hello! I am creating a small game, the game is printed onto a panel on a windows form. Now i want to capture the keydown event to see if its the arrow keys that has been pressed, the problem however is that i can't seem to capture it. Let me explain, on the form i have 4 buttons and various other controls and if the user for instance press one of the buttons (to trigger a game event) then the button has focus and i can't capture the movements with the arrow keys. I have setup a breakpoint inside the function to see if it's being called, but that breakpoint never triggers? Any ideas? The most optimal was to have a general KeyDown event that triggers (regardless of what control that currently has focus) and then calls the KeyDown method.

• My OpenCL kernel is slower on faster hardware.. But why?

  Hi folks, As I was finishing coding my project for a multicore programming class I came up upon something really weird I wanted to discuss with you. We were asked to create any program that would show significant improvement in being programmed for a multi-core platform. I’ve decided to try and code something on the GPU to try out OpenCL. I’ve chosen the matrix convolution problem since I’m quite familiar with it (I’ve parallelized it before with open_mpi with great speedup for large images). So here it is, I select a large GIF file (2.5 MB) [2816X2112] and I run the sequential version (original code) and I get an average of 15.3 seconds. I then run the new OpenCL version I just wrote on my MBP integrated GeForce 9400M and I get timings of 1.26s in average.. So far so good, it’s a speedup of 12X!! But now I go in my energy saver panel to turn on the “Graphic Performance Mode” That mode turns off the GeForce 9400M and turns on the Geforce 9600M GT my system has. Apple says this card is twice as fast as the integrated one. Guess what, my timing using the kick-ass graphic card are 3.2 seconds in average… My 9600M GT seems to be more than two times slower than the 9400M.. For those of you that are OpenCL inclined, I copy all data to remote buffers before starting, so the actual computation doesn’t require roundtrip to main ram. Also, I let OpenCL determine the optimal local-worksize as I’ve read they’ve done a pretty good implementation at figuring that parameter out.. • ASP.NET dynamically reassign controls in the control tree

  Let's say I have a custom control that looks like this <cc:MyControl runat="server" ID="myc" LinkControlID="NewParent" /> and, on the same page: <asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="NewParent" /> What I would like to do is, from MyControl, change NewParent's parent so that it would be part of MyControl's Controls collection. When I try to do this, from OnInit, I get: The control collection cannot be modified during DataBind, Init, Load, PreRender or Unload phases. Which makes sense, but is there a way around this? I'm OK if NewParent remains the child of the Page as long as from MyControl I can somehow redirect the rendering to MyControl's control. Can this be done? Thanks.   I am not familiar with WPF, and I just feel quite confusing. I am trying to create a little computer game, and there are elements I want to display dynamically. I use Image class and add the images to a canvas. But I'm not sure whether it's a good practice. I feel that adding controls to canvas seem to be a little wired. And I'm a little concerned about the performance, because I may need many images. The real problem is, I can't load the images from the image files. I see an example in a text book like this (XMAL): <Image Panel.ZIndex="0" Margin="0,0,0,0" Name ="image1"> <Image.Source> <BitmapImage UriSource="Bell.gif" /> </Image.Source> </Image> Where Bell.gif is added into the project. And I tried to copy this in code to create an image. new Image { Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri("Blockade.bmp"))} But I got invalid Uri exception. After some search in the Internet, I found that loading resources dynamically seems to be difficult. Can I load the files added to the project dynamically? If I use absolute path then it's OK. But I can't expect every computer will put the files in the same location. Can I use relative path? I tried new Image { Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri(@"Pictures\Blank Land.bmp", UriKind.Relative)) } But it doesn't work. (The image is blank) Thanks.

• Programming tips for writing document editors?

  I'm asking this because I'm in the process of writing two such editors for my Mega Man engine, one a tileset editor, and another a level editor. When I say document editor, I mean the superset application type for things like image editors and text editors. All of these share things like toolbars, menu options, and in the case of image editors, and my apps, tool panes. We all know there's tons of advice out there for interface design in these apps, but I'm wondering about programming advice. Specifically, I'm doubting my code designs with the following things: Many menu options toggle various behaviors. What's the proper way to reliably tie the checked state of the option with the status of the behavior? Sometimes it's more complicated, like options being disabled when there's no document loaded. More and more consensus seems to be against using MDI, but how should I control tool panes? For example, I can't figure out how to get the panels to minimize and maximize along with the main window, like Photoshop does. When tool panels are responsible for a particular part of the document, who actually owns that thing? The main window, or the panel class? How do you do communication between the tool panels and the main window? Currently mine is all event based but it seems like there could be a better way. This seems to be a common class of gui application, but I've never seen specific pointers on code design for them. Could you please offer whatever advice or experience you have for writing them?

  I'm using a custom JLayeredPane. I have several Shapes which needed to be drawn on different layers in the JLayeredPane. To test this I create a JPanel and ask its graphics. Then I draw a test rectangle on that JPanel (preparing the graphics) and in my paintComponent method from the JLayeredPane I finally draw everything.   Hi All, I am learning indesign, I have a doubt in story splitting... I want to split the story if the same story is used in two different text frames, I am extracting idml file and getting the needed data. My question is, I have a single story which is used by two text frames (Threaded text), and these two textframes are available in two different spreads. Story.xml contains full story, half of the story is displayed in 1st textframe, next half is displayed in 2nd textframe and the same story ID is referred in both the textframes. Now I want to split this story into two, so I want to know that how much content of the story is added in 1st and 2nd textframe, I think if I find that how many characters or words or lines present in each textframe then it will easy to split the story. We can determine the word and character count using the following steps in indesign CS4 Place the insertion point in a text frame to view counts for the entire thread of frames (the story), or select text to view counts only for the selected text. Choose Window Info to display the Info panel. Is there any property or attribute in idml (xml files like prefrence.xml or story.xml or spread.xml) to find out the number of characters/words/lines of single textframe. Can anyone help me to solve this issue. Thanks in advance.

  I am learning how to use Flex with Adobe Flash Builder 4 standalone. I am working my through the Adobe Flash Build 4 Bible by David Gassner. This has led me to create my own micro problems to try and solve. I am trying to connect to a dynamix XML feed created by the following aspx page: generate_xml.aspx When I create the data connection through the Data/Service panel, I can pick between XML and HTTP. I figured because the generate_xml.aspx has to generate the XML file first, I should use the HTTP service as opposed to the XML. The HTTP service offers GET, which seems to be the kinda thing I want. However, I am really struggling to do this. I keep getting: "The response is not a valid XML or a JSON string" The actual STATIC generated XML file that is created by this page works perfectly when I save it and manually connect with the XML service. Therefore I know my XML code is properly formatted and contains no other HTML of JavaScript. I figure my problem occurs because the page itself is .aspx, but I cannot work out how to successfully ask Flex to request the output of this page, rather than the page itself.

• Adding editFTPnetPRO to SSIS package causes error message

  I'm trying to add some secure FTP code to an SSIS package. I've used the EnterpriseDT product successfully on other .NET projects, so I wanted to incorporate it into an SSIS 2008 package I'm working on. If I create a Script Task (VB), edit the script, choose Project | Add Reference, and select the editFTPnetPRO.dll file, it comes back with this error: No template information found. See the application log in Event Viewer for more details. To open Event Viewer, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer. The application log doesn't contain any pertinent details. I have no idea what this is trying to tell me. I've gone down a couple dead ends searching for this error message and following the prescribed fixes, but nothing has fixed it yet. Any idea what might be going wrong? P.S. - I tried the devenv.exe /installvstemplates fix, which didn't change anything. Update: Here is the error captured in the SSIS package when you try to run it: Error: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --- System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'edtFTPnetPRO, Version=6.3.1.20, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0dce1ad63760d80b' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Where is it looking for this file? I tried copying it to the project direcory, the bin folder, and the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.nnnn folder, but it still can't find it, and it won't tell me where it's looking.
