  • Determining which database instance makes biggest IO

    Assuming that I have a dedicated server on which I am running multiple instances of mysql and postresql servers. How without iotop determine which instance in particular time (proc/pid/io shows data collected in some peroid of time) makes the biggest IO (so it increases IOWAIT)? When lots of ppl do something on DB then I clearly see which instance is making the load because of high cpu usage, but I had a situation when the cpu usage was just normal, but very high iowait made a huge load on server and i had problem finding process that was making some outstanding IO

    Hi, I need to rewrite https://mydomain1.com/chanagepassword to https://mydomain2.com/ssp then hide the url mydomain2.com/cp in browser and show https://mydomain1.com/chanagepassword. I got the first part working with the rule: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule /changepassword https://mydomain2.com/ssp/ [R=301,L] However it shows https://mydomain2.com/ssp url on browser. How can I mask this and show https://mydomain1.com/chanagepassword Please support. Thanks.

  • isa 2006 blocks outgoing traffic with no rule specified

    I've created a rule near the top, allowing all outgoing traffic from "All Users" from specified IP range to external network. However, connections are blocked sometimes for no apparent reason. For example, one attempt to ssh to an external server would fail, and another immediatelly after that - won't. to the same server! logging shows thoose failed connections as denied, but "rule" column is blank. any suggestions?

  • Open dialog box won't show files in libraries, but explorer will

    I have the weirdest problem when trying to open or save files. When I try to get to "My Documents" through the "Libraries" side link it won't show any of my files. It will show them if I go around from the C:// drive into the user files though. I thought it was because I didn't have the right location defined for the "Libraries" shortcut, but when I use "Explorer" to open my "Libraries" it shows all the files. Any ideas?

  • Nokia PC Suite hangs at installing required drivers and doesn't connect to phone

    I am unable to connect my Nokia 2690 to my PC via data cable using Nokia PC Suite under Windows XP SP3 Pro 32 bit. Every time I connect my mobile using the data cable, the Nokia App shows a window where it says it's "Installing the required drivers. Please wait". But even after several hours my phone never conects to my PC and the screen remains there idle. I checked in he task manager, Nokia PC Suite didn't go unresponsive.

  • Grizzly server - works with IP, but not with domain name

    I'm hosting a grizzly web service on a Windows 7 Pro machine (embedded in a regular Java process), and it is binding to http://my-domain-name. When trying to hit the service from another machine, requests to http://my-domain-name fail (fiddler shows error code 502), but requests to http://my-ip work. When the service runs on a Windows Server 2008 machine, this doesn't happen (both requests succeed). What could be the issue?

    Hi, Is there an app or utility in Windows that shows me the peak value of in-use memory (i.e., the total of the shareable and private memory of processes, drivers and the operating system) (not standby nor free)? I've got lots of memory and I'm installing an in-memory file cache, called "eBoostr", and would like an idea how much memory to allocate for it and still avoid deteriorating page faults.     Server currently running CentOS 5.2. Developers tell me they'd like the machine upgrade to CentOS 5.3 -- but not all the way to CentOS 5.4, as they haven't tested with 5.4 yet. I'm pretty sure a yum upgrade will put me at 5.4, as a yum check-update shows all sorts of 5.4 packages. So how do I move up to 5.3?

    I've seen videos of things like 3D desktops and used things like Stardock's fences. But are there any programs that will allow me to have a filters like on the side of my desktop which I can click to only who certain file types. So like on the right of the desktop is a list of filetypes which have files on my desktop and I can click them and it will only shows files on my desktop (not in explorer windows) of that filetype.

    I'm using 8.0.552.224 Chrome. Sometime, over the holidays, my bookmarklets nearly completely disappeared. The bookmarklets are present in the default screen that shows when I open a new tab. However, when I navigate away from that tab (browse further), the bookmarklets bar (usually appearing below the address field) is gone. Can anybody tell me why the bookmarklets are no longer persisteent and how to get them back

If I log into guest account and search my name it shows an error that i don't have permission. When i log into my roommate's standard account and go to the start menu I put my name in search and everything I have done or searched is open to them . We suspect this can be solved by adjusting configuration but we don't understand many of the configuration parameters (besides, maybe, the number of threads). Any ideas?

  • SQL Server suddenly using only a small portion of CPU.

    We've got a Windows 2008 R2 server running SQL Server 2008. All of a sudden, the SQLServer process is refusing to go above 20% CPU usage. As of last week, when running a heavy query against the db it would rise to 100% usage as I would expect. We've had this server for a while and it seems strange that it would just suddenly have this limit. This limit is causing our queries to take a lot longer than they normally would. No one has (knowingly at least) made any changes to the server configuration. After a bit of investigation, I discovered the sys.dm_os_sys_memory view. This shows 'available physical memory is high' bu at the same time the available physical memory is 339552kb where as the total is 4193848kb. It is worth noting that this is a virtual server running on vmware. Is there a setting somewhere with in SQL Server that sets the maximum CPU usage? I've found the settings in resource governor, although this is currently off as it always has been. We have recently started using Spotlight for SQL Server by Quest Software. It's playback database was located on this server for a short time this morning, I first noticed the problem shortly afterwards, although I hadn't been doing any queries prior to this so I don't know if this is the point at which the problem began, however the database was working as expected on Friday afternoon.   • How to add a font to the Cmd window choices in Windows 7 64-bit?

    I tried following the procedure outlined in this previous answer and it doesn't work: http://superuser.com/a/5079/2366 Specifically I'm trying to add Lucida Sans Typewriter Regular to the choices of Consolas and Lucida Console that the Cmd window currently allows. Lucida Console is in registry key "0" and Consolas is in registry key "00", so I'm adding key "000" but it's not affecting the available choices in the Font tab under Properties, even after rebooting the system. P.S. I also tried adding Courier New to the choices and it shows up, but appears to select Italic instead.
