I understand that this is the existing definition of PUT - this question is about the reason(s) why it would be defined that way. i.e: What is gained by preventing partial PUTs? Why was preventing idempotent partial updates considered an acceptable loss?

    I have created a asp:TextBox. its disabled. but its values is changed via javascript. When i click a button to get the updated value in that textbox it always show me empty (""). In my Page_Load i am doing everything in if(!Page.IsPostBack) so there is no chance of updating TextBox value on postback in Page_Load. Where i could be wrong? how can i get updated value?

    Hi, I'm trying to understand how Eval() works for a specific purpose. I'm working on a project I don't really know and I need to read some data and put them in drop down list. These data are already read and are displayed inside an ItemTemplate. I noticed there are read using the Eval() method. Something like: <ItemTemplate> <a href="...=<%# Eval("foo") %>></a> </ItemTemplate> I need to know where Eval is getting these data from in order to discover where I should read them for my drop down list! But I didn't really understand how it works! I know that Eval() evaluates data binding expressions at runtime but where do you think I should take a look at? Thank you

    Hi I have a number of legacy web controls (ascx) that contains huge amounts of inline C#. The forms contain a number of repeated and duplicate code. Our first plan is to move the code into code behinds per file, then refactor etc... were doing this to upgrade the client to the latest version of their cms At the moment we are going to have to manually copy and paste hundreds files, convert the namespace client-side imports into usings, etc... does anybody PLEASE know of a tool that can do the majority of this work for us ?   • C# Event routing in code behind

    I'm building a WPF MVVM-ish application. I want to be able to display an event log containing items in a collection that exists in my viewmodel. I want any of the objects in the model to be able to add data to the event log. Therefore every object needs to be able to pass data back to one central collection for databinding in the view. I could implement an event in every one of my data classes and manually pass the events up the object heirarchy but this seems super clumsy. On the visual tree a Routed Event would take care of this, is there some equivelent in the model scope? Any other ideas?

    Here is a (big) example of the massive problem I am having, when this page is live at euroworker.no/order, it is dynamically generated, I have supplied a static version for people to mess with. All I need is where it says "Endre Valg" to push the div wrapper under it down.. Sounds easy huh? I have tried many many things, I hope that some discussion and even trial and error can help us here.     I show interstitial ads in my app, and I have defined a translation animation that is set to slide the ad in from right to left. The ad slides in just fine, but when the animation starts, the underlying Activity becomes completely black while the ad slides in. I would like to be able to see the underlying Activity and have the ad slide in over it. How do I keep the underlying Activity from being covered with black?

  • Datasets do not regenerate code behind.

    So I was lucky enough to inherit a project where someone decided to use datasets as a model. The problem is that a column has been added to table in the database. Using the dataset desinger I added the column to the table and tryied to run the 'Custom tool' That tool is doing absolutly nothing from what I can tell. So is there a way to make the generated dataset code actually represent the changes that are made at the designer? Now I know why I have never used a dataset. :)

    Why do I need to add allocationSize=1 when using the @TableGenerator to ensure that the id wouldn't jump from 1, 2,... to 32,xxx, 65,xxx,... after a jvm restart? Is there a design reason for the need to specify the allocationSize?     I have a form on my site. The user enters their e-mail and selects a location from a dropdown. I then need to post that data to an external site by hitting a url with the user's location and e-mail in the query string. I'm doing this like so: string url = "http://www.site.com/page.aspx?location=" + location.Text + "&email=" + email.Text; HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(url); HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse(); My client says that I am not hitting their server, but when going through the debugger, I'm getting a response from their server. I also tried tracking what was happening by using Firebug, and I noticed that there was no POST made to that external site. What am I doing wrong here?

    I load a piece of html which contains something like: <em> < input type="text" value="Untitled" name="ViewTitle" id="ViewTitle" runat="server"> </em> into my control. The html is user defined, do please do not ask me to add them statically on the aspx page. On my page, I have a placeholder and I can use LiteralControl target = new LiteralControl (); // html string contains user-defined controls target.text = htmlstring to render it property. My problem is, since its a html piece, even if i know the input box's id, i cannot access it using FindControl("ViewTitle") (it will just return null) because its rendered as a text into a Literal control and all the input controls were not added to the container's control collections. I definitely can use Request.Form["ViewTitle"] to access its value, but how can I set its value?

  • Can I let maximized windows reach behind the gnome-panel?

    My top gnome-panel is set to not expand and sits on the top-right of my screen. I just realized I wouldn't mind if maximized windows were able to get behind it (it wouldn't actually cover up anything). Is it possible to achieve that with the gnome-panel? Here's what it looks like now: Ideally, the window's titlebar would be behind the panel (partially obscured by it). I know that different dock softwares like AWN are able to do that, but I'm running a weak netbook, and I would rather do that with the gnome-panel.

    I'm running a web server (Ubuntu) on my local home network. I'm behind a router. On the WAN I have a direct IP. When not on my home network and accessing my website via the WAN direct IP my website displays correctly and everything works. On my home LAN behind the router, accessing my website via the WAN direct gets me to my router's admin login page. This is normal. But... Accessing my website (via it's home LAN IP address) from another computer on my home LAN gets me to the website but the layout display is broken and clicking on any link takes me to the WAN direct IP (my router's Admin login page). How can i get my website to display properly and the links to work when accessing it from my home LAN?

  • How to spread XML Sitemaps over several webservers behind AWS loadbalancer?

    We have a web portal with almost a million products and way more other urls. I wrote a script that checks database. If there is a new url needed or an old one update, this script will update/create the XML Sitemaps. But we have several servers behind the load balancer at our rented AWS space. Further this script checks database for each url if there was an update so that it updates the appropriate xml file too. My question is how to spread those XML Sitemaps over all webservers behind this AWS load balancer? Our approaches/ideas: we could just generate them on one server with a cron job and copy them to the other servers, but this could be difficult because of automatic raising numbers of servers and so on. we put them on our S3 - but this one is not avaible thru our domain, so I guess google will have a problem with it I let my script run on every webserver but change it in a way that it will generate each time all xml files if they do not exist. But then I would have conflicts with updated URLs in my database, where I saved timestamp of last changed value of every url Is there another - better - solution that I do not know? Are there any special services by amazon for such cases?
