    - by tyndall

How would I construct the function write_pair? username = "tyndall" write_pair username # where write_pair username outputs username: tyndall Is it possible to do? Looking for the most simple way to do this.

  • Dictionary object syntax?

    - by posfan12
I'm having trouble figuring out the syntax for a JScript .NET dictionary object. I have tried private var myDictionary: Dictionary<string><string>; but the compiler complains that it's missing a semicolon and that the Dictionary object is not declared. I know JScript does have a native dictionary-like object format, but I'm not sure if there are disadvantages to using it instead of the .NET-specific construct. I.e., what if someone wants to extend my script using another .NET language?

  • Specifying a Single Request To Use Credentials with HttpClient

    - by jiduvah
I am using OAuth2 on my android project. The idea is to use a singleton HttpClient used with a ThreadSafeClientConnManager. For a normal request to the server we construct an Authorization header and send that. The header is constructed from values received from the server. This works fine. However every 15 minutes we must get new values from the server to construct the header. To Received these values I must set the credentials like so. client.getCredentialsProvider().setCredentials( new AuthScope(AuthScope.ANY_HOST, AuthScope.ANY_PORT), new UsernamePasswordCredentials(creds.clientId, creds.clientSecret)); In order for this to work I must set up and new DefaultHttpClient. If I use the original singleton httpclient I receive some errors. My question is.. is it possible to set the credentials to be used only on this one request? I noticed that there is an AuthScope. The host and port would not be suitable for this but maybe the realm would? I can't find anything that tells me what a realm is or how to use it. 06-05 10:12:55.969: W/System.err(23843): org.apache.http.NoHttpResponseException: The target server failed to respond 06-05 10:12:55.969: W/System.err(23843): at org.apache.http.impl.conn.DefaultResponseParser.parseHead(DefaultResponseParser.java:85) 06-05 10:12:55.969: W/System.err(23843): at org.apache.http.impl.io.AbstractMessageParser.parse(AbstractMessageParser.java:174) 06-05 10:12:55.969: W/System.err(23843): at org.apache.http.impl.AbstractHttpClientConnection.receiveResponseHeader(AbstractHttpClientConnection.java:179) 06-05 10:12:55.969: W/System.err(23843): at org.apache.http.impl.conn.DefaultClientConnection.receiveResponseHeader(DefaultClientConnection.java:235) 06-05 10:12:55.969: W/System.err(23843): at org.apache.http.impl.conn.AbstractClientConnAdapter.receiveResponseHeader(AbstractClientConnAdapter.java:259) 06-05 10:12:55.975: W/System.err(23843): at org.apache.http.protocol.HttpRequestExecutor.doReceiveResponse(HttpRequestExecutor.java:279) 06-05 10:12:55.975: W/System.err(23843): at org.apache.http.protocol.HttpRequestExecutor.execute(HttpRequestExecutor.java:121) 06-05 10:12:55.975: W/System.err(23843): at org.apache.http.impl.client.DefaultRequestDirector.execute(DefaultRequestDirector.java:504) 06-05 10:12:55.975: W/System.err(23843): at org.apache.http.impl.client.AbstractHttpClient.execute(AbstractHttpClient.java:555) 06-05 10:12:55.975: W/System.err(23843): at org.apache.http.impl.client.AbstractHttpClient.execute(AbstractHttpClient.java:487) 06-05 10:12:55.975: W/System.err(23843): at org.apache.http.impl.client.AbstractHttpClient.execute(AbstractHttpClient.java:465) So After more testing I have found where the problem lies. I want to configure a pooled connection manager like so SchemeRegistry schemeRegistry = new SchemeRegistry(); schemeRegistry.register( new Scheme("http", PlainSocketFactory.getSocketFactory(), 80)); schemeRegistry.register( new Scheme("https", PlainSocketFactory.getSocketFactory(), 443)); ClientConnectionManager conManager = new ThreadSafeClientConnManager(new BasicHttpParams(), schemeRegistry); DefaultHttpClient httpClient = new DefaultHttpClient(); But when configure like this, I get the error above. If I use the normal default httpclient like so DefaultHttpClient httpClient = new DefaultHttpClient(); Then it works fine. Any ideas?

  • How to insert a float into a SQL table in the right locale

    - by SoMoS
Hello, I have to insert float values into different SQL Servers. Each one can have different locales so in one it the representation could be "42,2" and at another one "42.2" or whatever. How should i construct the query so it works in any SQL Server? Do i need to detect the locale of the server before constructing the query or what? Thanks in advance mates.

  • Which is clearer form: if(!value) or if(flag == value) ?

    - by CodexArcanum
I understand this is a subjective question, so I apologize if it needs to be closed, but I feel like it comes up often enough for me to wonder if there is a general preference for one form over the other. Obviously, the best answer is "refactor the code so you don't need to test for falsehood" but sometimes there's no easy way to do so and the "else" branch is simply to continue processing. So when you must have an "if not false" construct, which is the preferred standard: The not operator if(!value) Or the test for false if(value == false)

  • for x in y, type iteration in python. Can I find out what iteration I'm currently on?

    - by foo
Hi, I have a question about the loop construct in Python in the form of: for x in y: In my case y is a line read from a file and x is separate characters. I would like to put a space after every pair of characters in the output, like this: aa bb cc dd etc. So, I would like to know the current iteration. Is it possible, or do I need to use a more traditional C style for loop with an index?

  • Creating a Type object corresponding to a generic type

    - by Alexey Romanov
In Java, how can I construct a Type object for Map<String, String>? System.out.println(Map<String, String>.class); doesn't compile. One workaround I can think of is private Map<String, String> dummy() { throw new Error(); } Type mapStringString = Class.forName("ThisClass").getMethod("dummy", null).getGenericReturnType(); Is this the correct way?

  • Digest authentication using LDAP only

    - by Elephant
Is there a way to validate digest authentication using LDAP only? I.e. if I have the following request from a client (stealed from Wikipedia): GET /dir/index.html HTTP/1.0 Host: localhost Authorization: Digest username="Mufasa", realm="[email protected]", nonce="dcd98b7102dd2f0e8b11d0f600bfb0c093", uri="/dir/index.html", qop=auth, nc=00000001, cnonce="0a4f113b", response="6629fae49393a05397450978507c4ef1", opaque="5ccc069c403ebaf9f0171e9517f40e41" could I validate the user against LDAP, meaning if I don't now user password hence is not able to construct a digest hash to compare with the response?

  • Store more than 24 hours in a DateTime

    - by Rob
I work in a bizarre and irrational industry where we need to be able to represent the time of day as 06:00:00 to 30:00:00 instead of 0:00:00 to 24:00:00. Is there any way to do this using the DateTime type? If I try to construct a date time with an hour value greater than 24 it throws an exception.

  • (Pivot) tables generation

    - by Yasir Arsanukaev
Hello. We use Excel VBA to load data using SQL, process it and generate (pivot) tables. I wonder if there any other decent alternatives. I've been thinking on PDF generation but not sure if there are handy tools to construct pivot tables. Important requirement is the ability to print data correctly, so that everything fits on the page(s). Thanks.

  • Interesting task using random numbers only

    - by psihodelia
Given any number of the random real numbers from the interval [0,1] is there exist any method to construct a floating point number with zero decimal part? Your algorithm can use only random() function calls and no variables or constants. No constants and variables are allowed, no type casting is allowed. You can use for/while, if/else or any other programming language operands.

  • "this" in function parameter

    - by chris
Looking at some code examples for HtmlHelpers, and I see declarations that look like: public static string HelperName(this HtmlHelper htmlHelper, ...more regular params ) I can't remember seeing this type of construct any where else - can someone explain the purpose of the "this"? I thought that by declaring something public static meant that the class did not need to be instantiated - so what is "this" in this case?

  • How to map non-REST URLS to REST ones?

    - by Krzysztof Luks
I have a small rails app that has default scaffold generated routes eg. /stadia/1.xml. However I have to support legacy client app that can't construct such URLs correctly. What I need to do is to map URL in the form: /stadia?id=1?format=xml to /stadia/1.xml Or even something like: /myApp?model=<model_name>?id=<id>?format=xml to /<model_name/<id>.xml Is it possible to craft appropriate route in Rails?
