    Short story: syncing my iPhone music with banshee didn't work and what's worse is, banshee deleted or corrupted the existing music on the phone. I'm sick I tried to sync music at all. And I must admit, if I were not a developer I probably would have switched back to windows instantly. So my questions are these: What is the state of apple device support in ubuntu? iPhone and iPod in particular. Is there support for any version of iOS? For example is there support for iOS5? If not, will there be? When? What I can do to get support delivered quicker? What does jail breaking mean? You tend to read that quite a lot when troubleshooting, though I imagine most people don't understand what it means. And do you need to jail break the phone in order to sync it with ubuntu?

    I think the title is quite self-explaining, still this is a big area I think, so let me drop a few words: I've got a simple experiment game project going, and I want to make sure, that the user isn't messing with the game assets like player skin etc. In my opinion the best way would be that on production I would merge all the assets into one file and the application would check the hash of that file, so it could detect the corrupted data. Is this an acceptable practice? There must be sum libraries / applications which are targeting this problem, could you guide me on this? Project details: unix/linux, c++, sdl

    Is it possible (on iPhone/iPod Touch) for a file written like this: if (FILE* file = fopen(filename, "wb")) { fwrite(buf, buf_size, 1, file); fclose(file); } to get corrupted, e.g. when app is forced to terminate? From what I know fwrite should be an atomic operation, so when I write whole file with one instruction no corruption should occure. I could not find any information on the net that would say otherwise.

  • foreach loop corrupting my array?

    Explanation I have a multidimensional array that is iterated over to created a categorized view of people with different research interests. The main array look something like this: Array ( ... ['Cell Biology'] => Array(4 elements) ['Molecular'] => Array(6 elements) ['Biology Education'] => Array(14 elements) ['Plant Biology'] => Array(19 elements) <--- Last element in array ) I know that the entire array is intact and correctly structured. The only information that is inside these array is an user id, like so: Array ('Plant Biology') 19 elements ( [0] => 737 [1] => 742 [2] => 748 ... ) My problem is that after i run the main array through a foreach loop the last 'sub-array' gets messed up. By messed up I mean that what you see about instead look like: String (13 characters) 'Plant Biology' This is without doing at all anything inside the loop with to the array that gets corrupted. Any tips to what it might be?     I am using PBE encryption to encrypt and decrypt some text on an Android application but I get the BadPaddingException: with the "pad block corrupted" message when I use the wrong private key to decrypt the text. My question, since I am not well versed with encryption in Java, is if this is the normal behavior of the encryption API, because I need to do some logic in the case when the wrong key is entered, but I do not know the private key, nor do I store it anywhere (storing just the encrypted and decrypted check text).     I've just installed Kohana 3.0.4.2 and I have run the index.php file successfully. According to the documentation, the next step is to edit the config files in the application/config folder. I have that folder but there are no files in it! I downloaded the package again to make sure it wasn't corrupted, but the same problem exists. Why is the application/config folder empty?

    I created a NetBeans project. I took the project folders zipped to another machine and tried opening it in NetBeans. NetBeans didn't identify it as a NetBeans project.     Hi, I am using axWnidowsMediaPlayer in my windows mobile application with compact framework 3.5 . It was working beautifully few days ago but now whenever i try to play a song from url it shows the message "Can not play the file.The file is either corrupted or the player does not support the format you are playing" The same url is not played by the phone's wmplayer also but when I try to play it with the systems wmplayer it plays the same url successfully.
