  • C# LINQ Where Predicate Type Arguments

    - by blu
    I have an XElement with values for mock data. I have an expression to query the xml: Expression<Func<XElement, bool>> simpleXmlFunction = b => int.Parse(b.Element("FooId").Value) == 12; used in: var simpleXml = xml.Elements("Foo").Where(simpleXmlFunction).First(); The design time error is: The type arguments for method 'System.Linq.Enumerable.Where(System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable, System.Func)' cannot be inferred from the usage. Try specifying the type arguments explicitly' The delegate supplied to Where should take in an XElement and return a bool, marking if the item matches the query, I am not sure how to add anything more to the delegate or the where clause to mark the type. Also, the parallel method for the real function against the Entity Framework does not have this issue. What is not correct with the LINQ-to-XML version?

  • Injecting jQuery into a page fails when using Google AJAX Libraries API

    - by jakemcgraw
    I'd like to inject jQuery into a page using the Google AJAX Libraries API, I've come up with the following solution: http://my-domain.com/inject-jquery.js: ;((function(){ // Call this function once jQuery is available var func = function() { jQuery("body").prepend('<div>jQuery Rocks!</div>'); }; // Detect if page is already using jQuery if (!window.jQuery) { var done = false; var head = document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0]; var script = document.createElement("script"); script.src = "http://www.google.com/jsapi"; script.onload = script.onreadystatechange = function(){ // Once Google AJAX Libraries API is loaded ... if (!done && (!this.readyState || this.readyState == "loaded" || this.readyState == "complete")) { done = true; // ... load jQuery ... window.google.load("jquery", "1", {callback:function(){ jQuery.noConflict(); // ... jQuery available, fire function. func(); }}); // Prevent IE memory leaking script.onload = script.onreadystatechange = null; head.removeChild(script); } } // Load Google AJAX Libraries API head.appendChild(script); // Page already using jQuery, fire function } else { func(); } })()); The script would then be included in a page on a separate domain: http://some-other-domain.com/page.html: <html> <head> <title>This is my page</title> </head> <body> <h1>This is my page.</h1> <script src="http://my-domain.com/inject-jquery.js"></script> </body> </html> In Firefox 3 I get the following error: Module: 'jquery' must be loaded before DOM onLoad! jsapi (line 16) The error appears to be specific to the Google AJAX Libraries API, as I've seen others use a jQuery bookmarklet to inject jQuery into the current page. My question: Is there a method for injecting the Google AJAX Libraries API / jQuery into a page regardless of the onload/onready state?

  • How to get the original variable name of variable passed to a function

    - by Acorn
    Is it possible to get the original variable name of a variable passed to a function? E.g. foobar = "foo" def func(var): print var.origname So that: func(foobar) Returns: >>foobar EDIT: All I was trying to do was make a function like: def log(soup): f = open(varname+'.html', 'w') print >>f, soup.prettify() f.close() .. and have the function generate the filename from the name of the variable passed to it. I suppose if it's not possible I'll just have to pass the variable and the variable's name as a string each time.

  • Python Decorators and inheritance

    - by wheaties
    Help a guy out. Can't seem to get a decorator to work with inheritance. Broke it down to the simplest little example in my scratch workspace. Still can't seem to get it working. class bar(object): def __init__(self): self.val = 4 def setVal(self,x): self.val = x def decor(self, func): def increment(self, x): return func( self, x ) + self.val return increment class foo(bar): def __init__(self): bar.__init__(self) @decor def add(self, x): return x Oops, name "decor" is not defined. Okay, how about @bar.decor? TypeError: unbound method "decor" must be called with a bar instance as first argument (got function instance instead) Ok, how about @self.decor? Name "self" is not defined. Ok, how about @foo.decor?! Name "foo" is not defined. AaaaAAaAaaaarrrrgggg... What am I doing wrong?

  • llvm clang struct creating functions on the fly

    - by anon
    I'm using LLVM-clang on Linux. Suppose in foo.cpp I have: struct Foo { int x, y; }; How can I create a function "magic" such that: typedef (Foo) SomeFunc(Foo a, Foo b); SomeFunc func = magic("struct Foo { int x, y; };"); so that: func(SomeFunc a, SomeFunc b); // returns a.x + b.y; ? Note: So basically, "magic" needs to take a char*, have LLVM parse it to get how C++ lays out the struct, then create a function on the fly that returns a.x + b.y; Thanks!

  • best practice on precedence of variable declaration and error handling in C

    - by guest
    is there an advantage in one of the following two approaches over the other? here it is first tested, whether fopen succeeds at all and then all the variable declarations take place, to ensure they are not carried out, since they mustn't have had to void func(void) { FILE *fd; if ((fd = fopen("blafoo", "+r")) == NULL ) { fprintf(stderr, "fopen() failed\n"); exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } int a, b, c; float d, e, f; /* variable declarations */ /* remaining code */ } this is just the opposite. all variable declarations take place, even if fopen fails void func(void) { FILE *fd; int a, b, c; float d, e, f; /* variable declarations */ if ((fd = fopen("blafoo", "+r")) == NULL ) { fprintf(stderr, "fopen() failed\n"); exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } /* remaining code */ } does the second approach produce any additional cost, when fopen fails? would love to hear your thoughts!

  • How to get current date and time from DB using SQLAlchemy

    - by bluish
    I need to retrieve what's the current date and time for the database I'm connected with SQLAlchemy (not date and time of the machine where I'm running Python code). I've seen this functions, but they don't seem to do what they say: >>> from sqlalchemy import * >>> print func.current_date() CURRENT_DATE >>> print func.current_timestamp() CURRENT_TIMESTAMP Moreover it seems they don't need to be binded to any SQLAlchemy session or engine. It makes no sense... Thanks!

  • Expression.OrElse, dynamically creating a condition.

    - by Jim
    Hi, I am attempting to create a dynamic where clause using the standard expression API. var query = ( from p in Parties orderby p.PartyId orderby p.FullName select p ).AsQueryable(); Expression<Func<Party, bool>> @fn = (p) => SqlMethods.Like(p.FullName, "%smith%") || SqlMethods.Like(p.Person.FirstName, "%smith%"); Expression<Func<Party, bool>> @sn = (p) => SqlMethods.Like(p.Person.FirstName, words[0]); ParameterExpression pe = Expression.Parameter(typeof(Party), "p"); Expression orelse = Expression.OrElse( Expression.Lambda(@fn, pe), Expression.Lambda(@sn, pe) ); The expressions above will ultimately be added to a where clause. I need to add a bunch of 'likes'. How do I do this? I get InvalidOperationException on the operator OrElse I have also tried Expression.Or Thanks Regards Craig.

  • UISegmentedControl is hidden under the titleBar

    - by shay te
    i guess i am missing something with the UISegmentedControl and auto layout. i have a TabbedApplication (UITabBarController), and i created a new UIViewController to act as tab. to the new view i added UISegmentedControl, and place it to top using auto layout. i guess i don't understand completely something , cause the UISegmentedControl is hiding under the titleBar . can u help me understand what i am missing ? thank you . import Foundation import UIKit; class ViewLikes:UIViewController { override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() title = "some title"; var segmentControl:UISegmentedControl = UISegmentedControl(items:["blash", "blah blah"]); segmentControl.selectedSegmentIndex = 1; segmentControl.setTranslatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints(false) self.view.addSubview(segmentControl) //Set layout var viewsDict = Dictionary <String, UIView>() viewsDict["segment"] = segmentControl; //controls self.view.addConstraints(NSLayoutConstraint.constraintsWithVisualFormat("H:|-[segment]-|", options: NSLayoutFormatOptions.AlignAllCenterX, metrics: nil, views: viewsDict)) self.view.addConstraints(NSLayoutConstraint.constraintsWithVisualFormat("V:|-[segment]", options: NSLayoutFormatOptions(0), metrics: nil, views: viewsDict)) } override func didReceiveMemoryWarning() { super.didReceiveMemoryWarning() // Dispose of any resources that can be recreated. } }

  • Calling cdecl Functions That Have Different Number of Arguments

    - by KlaxSmashing
    I have functions that I wish to call based on some input. Each function has different number of arguments. In other words, if (strcmp(str, "funcA") == 0) funcA(a, b, c); else if (strcmp(str, "funcB") == 0) funcB(d); else if (strcmp(str, "funcC") == 0) funcC(f, g); This is a bit bulky and hard to maintain. Ideally, these are variadic functions (e.g., printf-style) and can use varargs. But they are not. So exploiting the cdecl calling convention, I am stuffing the stack via a struct full of parameters. I'm wondering if there's a better way to do it. Note that this is strictly for in-house (e.g., simple tools, unit tests, etc.) and will not be used for any production code that might be subjected to malicious attacks. Example: #include <stdio.h> typedef struct __params { unsigned char* a; unsigned char* b; unsigned char* c; } params; int funcA(int a, int b) { printf("a = %d, b = %d\n", a, b); return a; } int funcB(int a, int b, const char* c) { printf("a = %d, b = %d, c = %s\n", a, b, c); return b; } int funcC(int* a) { printf("a = %d\n", *a); *a *= 2; return 0; } typedef int (*f)(params); int main(int argc, char**argv) { int val; int tmp; params myParams; f myFuncA = (f)funcA; f myFuncB = (f)funcB; f myFuncC = (f)funcC; myParams.a = (unsigned char*)100; myParams.b = (unsigned char*)200; val = myFuncA(myParams); printf("val = %d\n", val); myParams.c = (unsigned char*)"This is a test"; val = myFuncB(myParams); printf("val = %d\n", val); tmp = 300; myParams.a = (unsigned char*)&tmp; val = myFuncC(myParams); printf("a = %d, val = %d\n", tmp, val); return 0; } Output: gcc -o func func.c ./func a = 100, b = 200 val = 100 a = 100, b = 200, c = This is a test val = 200 a = 300 a = 600, val = 0

  • C# Entity Framework Base Repository

    - by Andy
    I'm trying to create a base repository for use with Entity Framework 4.0 and having some trouble. In this code below, why is it not possible to do this in one line? public IEnumerable<T> GetAll<T>(Expression<Func<T, bool>> filter) { IEnumerable<T> allCustomers = this.GetAll<T>(); IEnumerable<T> result = allCustomers.Where(filter.Compile()); return result; } Won't this result in 2 SQL statements: one without a where clause that retrieves all rows, and one with a where clause that only retrieves the rows that match the predicate? How can this be done with a single SQL statement? I can't get it to compile if I try to cast the filter.Compile() to Func<Customer, bool>. Thanks, Andy

  • importing modules in app engine

    - by tanky
    Ive asked this before, but it seems i wasnt clear/detailed enough and after a week of trying im still struggling so i will try again. i am trying to use, oauth2 and ply on app engine. i have tried copying their directories into my app engine project directory (in the form ply-3.4 or brosner-python-oauth2-82a05f9) and i have tried copying the specific sub directory contained within the aforemention one. (ply or oauth2) i have tried saying import oauth2, from brosner-oauth2_python-82a05f9 import oauth and other variations on the theme, but i still cant get it to work nothing has worked. i have tried including them in app.yaml, but that seemed to create an even bigger error as my entire project wouldnt even run when i tried that. and now i have run out of things to try. the error log i am getting is as follows. • Example from: "Javascript - The Good Parts"

    - by Matrym
    What "ugliness" does the following solve? There's something I'm not getting, and I'd appreciate help understanding what it is. For example, by augmenting Function.prototype, we can make a method available to all functions: Function.prototype.method = function (name, func) { this.prototype[name] = func; return this; }; By augmenting Function.prototype with a method method, we no longer have to type the name of the prototype property. That bit of ugliness can now be hidden.

  • Controlling symbol generation in Clojure macros

    - by mikera
    I'm trying (as a self-learning exercise) to create a Clojure macro that will generate code to apply a function to a sequence of integers and sum the result, e.g. f(0) + f(1) + f(2) + f(3) This is my attempt: (defmacro testsum [func n] `(fn [x#] (+ ~@( map (fn [i] `(~func x#)) (range n))))) However something seems to go wrong with the x# gensym and I end up with two different versions of x and hence the function doesn't work: (macroexpand '(testsum inc 3)) gives: (fn* ([x__809__auto__] (clojure.core/+ (inc x__808__auto__) (inc x__808__auto__) (inc x__808__auto__)))) This is pretty much exactly what I want apart from the different 809 and 808 versions of x..... What am I doing wrong? I thought that the auto gensym was meant to create a single unique symbol for exactly this kind of purpose? Is there a better way of doing this?

  • prevent using functions before initialization, constructors-like in C

    - by Hernán Eche
    This is the way I get to prevent funA,funB,funC, etc.. for being used before init #define INIT_KEY 0xC0DE //any number except 0, is ok static int initialized=0; int Init() { //many init task initialized=INIT_KEY; } int funA() { if (initialized!=INIT_KEY) return 1 //.. } int funB() { if (initialized!=INIT_KEY) return 1 //.. } int funC() { if (initialized!=INIT_KEY) return 1 //.. } The problem with this approach is that if some of those function is called within a loop so "if (initialized!=INIT_KEY)" is called again, and again, although it's not necessary. It's a good example of why constructors are useful haha, If it were an object I would be sure that when was created initialization was called, but in C, I don't know how to do it. Any other ideas are welcome!

  • Built in raytracing?

    - by acidzombie24
    Relating to this question i was wondering if .NET has any libs (or a function) i can use to detect if one point collides with another. I am not sure what angles i should use but is there some function like this func(point src, rect target, angle, distanceOfVision, listPointOrRectOfWalls) Pretty unlikely but i dont know a formula or how to start. Its a quick and dirty prototype. I am thinking of writing the func about but dropping angle and just make line of sight a rectangle and check if any points is between src and target.

  • go programming POST FormValue can't be printed

    - by poor_programmer
    Before I being a bit of background, I am very new to go programming language. I am running go on Win 7, latest go package installer for windows. I'm not good at coding but I do like some challenge of learning a new language. I wanted to start learn Erlang but found go very interesting based on the GO I/O videos in youtube. I'm having problem with capturing POST form values in GO. I spend three hours yesterday to get go to print a POST form value in the browser and failed miserably. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, can anyone point me to the right direction? I can easily do this in another language like C#, PHP, VB, ASP, Rails etc. I have search the entire interweb and haven't found a working sample. Below is my sample code. Here is Index.html page {{ define "title" }}Homepage{{ end }} {{ define "content" }} <h1>My Homepage</h1> <p>Hello, and welcome to my homepage!</p> <form method="POST" action="/"> <p> Enter your name : <input type="text" name="username"> </P> <p> <button>Go</button> </form> <br /><br /> {{ end }} Here is the base page <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <title>{{ template "title" . }}</title> </head> <body> <section id="contents"> {{ template "content" . }} </section> <footer id="footer"> My homepage 2012 copy </footer> </body> </html> now some go code package main import ( "fmt" "http" "strings" "html/template" ) var index = template.Must(template.ParseFiles( "templates/_base.html", "templates/index.html", )) func GeneralHandler(w http.ResponseWriter, r *http.Request) { index.Execute(w, nil) if r.Method == "POST" { a := r.FormValue("username") fmt.Fprintf(w, "hi %s!",a); //<-- this variable does not rendered in the browser!!! } } func helloHandler(w http.ResponseWriter, r *http.Request) { remPartOfURL := r.URL.Path[len("/hello/"):] fmt.Fprintf(w, "Hello %s!", remPartOfURL) } func main() { http.HandleFunc("/", GeneralHandler) http.HandleFunc("/hello/", helloHandler) http.ListenAndServe("localhost:81", nil) } Thanks! PS: Very tedious to add four space before every line of code in stackoverflow especially when you are copy pasting. Didn't find it very user friendly or is there an easier way?

  • Compiled query using list of class objects in C#

    Hello , Can somebody help me out in creating compiled queries where input is to be a list of class objects? I have seen examples where Func<DataContext, somematchobject, IQueryable<T>> is created and compiled. But can I do something like Func<List<T>, matchObject, T>, and compile it? Basically I want an object(T) meeting certain conditions (as in matchObject) to be returned from a list of objects(List<T>). Will CompiledQuery.Compile help me in this? Please help me experts!!

  • Apply function to one element of a list in Python

    - by user189637
    I'm looking for a concise and functional style way to apply a function to one element of a tuple and return the new tuple, in Python. For example, for the following input: inp = ("hello", "my", "friend") I would like to be able to get the following output: out = ("hello", "MY", "friend") I came up with two solutions which I'm not satisfied with. One uses a higher-order function. def apply_at(arr, func, i): return arr[0:i] + [func(arr[i])] + arr[i+1:] apply_at(inp, lambda x: x.upper(), 1) One uses list comprehensions (this one assumes the length of the tuple is known). [(a,b.upper(),c) for a,b,c in [inp]][0] Is there a better way? Thanks!

  • pointer to const member function typedef

    - by oldcig
    I know it's possible to separate to create a pointer to member function like this struct K { void func() {} }; typedef void FuncType(); typedef FuncType K::* MemFuncType; MemFuncType pF = &K::func; Is there similar way to construct a pointer to a const function? I've tried adding const in various places with no success. I've played around with gcc some and if you do template deduction on something like template <typename Sig, typename Klass> void deduce(Sig Klass::*); It will show Sig with as a function signature with const just tacked on the end. If to do this in code it will complain that you can't have qualifiers on a function type. Seems like it should be possible somehow because the deduction works.
