    In my MyConstants.h file... I have: int abc[3]; In my matching MyConstants.m file... I have: extern int abc[3] = {11, 22, 33}; In each of my other *.m files... I have #import "MyConstants.h" Inside 1 of my viewDidLoad{} methods, I have: extern int abc[]; NSLog(@"abc = (%d) (%d)", abc[1], sizeof(abc)/sizeof(int)); Why does it display "abc = (0) (3)" instead of "abc = (22) (3)"? How do I make this work as expected?

    I'm not sure how to do this without getting an error. Here is a simplified example of my problem. Say I have this data frame DF a b c d 1 2 3 4 2 3 4 5 3 4 5 6 Then I have a variable x <- min(c(1,2,3)) Now I want do do the following y <- DF[a == x] But when I try to refer to some variable like "x" I get an error because R is looking for a column "x" in my data frame. I get the "undefined columns selected" error How can I do what I am trying to do in R?

The current_window and the current_marker inside the function is overide at each loop turn. How can I get it right ? Thanks

    Hi guys,, need some help pls.. i have a PHP code here that lets a user send a message to multiple recipients using the "phonebook" (from database) as the main list. I used an array to temporarily hold all the desired recipients for the current user. So I have a two box, with each for displaying. The user will clicks the name from the phonebook lisy and clicks "Add" button to add on the temporary list on the other select box. My code is rather long so here is an example of the structure and the problem: var x = new function f() { this.id = ""; } function g(obj) { if (x.id == "") { ... obj.firstChild.setAttribute("onclick", "javascript:o();"); ... x.id = obj.id; } else if (x.id != obj.id) { ... x.id = ""; g(obj); } } function o() { ... if (something == something) { ... } else { ... x.id = ""; // if-statement of the g() function is called here? } } As you can see, the if-statement of the g() function is for some reason called or re-run upon x.id being changed. I simply cannot understand this, because they are not in the same scope, and changing a variable should under no circumstances trigger anything? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I am attempting to construct my first linked list, and having read a basic introduction, have done the following. Firstly, declare a linked list node as: struct errorNode { uint8 error; struct errorNode* next; }; Secondly, define the first node globally as: struct errorNode errorList = {0, NULL}; This has been done to allow each of the libraries that make up my current project to insert errors into a common list. The function to do this is: void errorListWrite(uint8 error) { struct errorNode* newNode = malloc(sizeof(struct errorNode)); newNode->error = error; newNode->next = &errorList; errorList = *newNode; } Whilst this compiles without error, it does not function as expected. I thnk the problem is with the last two statements of the list write function, but I am unsure. A hint as to what I am doing wrong would be most appreciated.

  • Will moving to Facebook/Disqus Commenting lighten the load on my server any?

    I manage a site that gets about 50 million hits a month. It's a Wordpress site, load balanced over 6 servers, and has a varnish caching system setup. Right now, 95 - 97% of the time, page views hit the cache. The only time it serves up a new page from the server is when a new story is created, or someone is logged in looking at the stories and commenting. What I am trying to figure out is that if I move over to Facebook Comments or Disqus commenting, and get rid of the users entirely, will that lighten the load? I would think it would because the only time you would be hitting the server, and not the cache, is when you're logged in - which only the admins would be. I know it's only 2.5 - 3% but I wasn't 100% sure.

    I am trying to figure out why a simple .XLS EXCEL workbook is taking, randomly, 30 seconds to open. Before answering: Please, bear mind the following: Problem symptoms Hanging is intermitent and it takes exactly 30 seconds; During hanging there is no cpu or disk activity; It only happens during document load. Every runs smooth after that; Windows Explorer.exe hangs on folder, but all other folders, system and applications are still responsive; There are no consecutive hangings. I have to wait for while to reproduce this behaviour; All samples documents are located on a local drive (C:\BPI); The no document has has macros and have any addins usage; The problem does occurs on others files extensions like .PDF, for example; Office 2003 is being used for several years; The computer is running Windows XP; Computer has several network mapped drives, all addressed to main file server; Recently, main fileserver was replaced by Windows 2011 SBS Standard Edition What I have done so far I have traced machine Explorer.exe, using Process Monitor, added Duration column, and filtered by Duration 1. That's is how I found that hanging was taking exactly 30 seconds. For further information, please refer to Oliver Salzburg tutorial. Using Process Monitor, I have also figured out than five operations were taking most of sample collecting duration. Looking at sample image below, column Operation below you will notice that one single operation was taking 29 seconds; I have tried different documents (.xls and .doc), all of them smaller than 30 KB; I have, temporarily, removed all shortcuts on User Document's folder that were pointing to network drives or shares; I have runned CCleaner to fix registry issues; I made sure that there were no external links on tested workbook or word documents; I have reproduced this behaviour for hours; I have extensivelly researched for hours on the web; Process Monitor's collected and filtered data

  • What's wrong with this vcl config for varnish-cache as load balancer?

    I have the current configurations active on my default.vcl varnish file on the machine that balances the load for other two machines (the other two machines also have varnish active). My intention is to have this server do only the load balancing and the other machines do the processing and also their own caching. My problem is that even with the config testing (not even a stress test or anything, just a few requests a minute) I get the guru meditation error and have to restart varnish.   • Optimizing apache server load

    We have an issue with a dedicated server load. We have 16 processors with 4 core @ 2.40GHz, if I understood correctly cat /proc/cpuinfo output. Unfortunately, I don't have access to free -m or vmstat. But from top I got that we have 24 GB. And snapshot from top about processes: As far as I see, memory is not used at all. But the cpu is used heavily. Apache consumes most of CPU.   • Global menu not showing in Ubuntu 12.10 with Unity

    I am on Ubuntu 12.10 with Unity shell. I am not quite sure what happened, but today I noticed that the menubar (containing 'File, Edit, etc...') is not appearing on the panel as it used to (i.e. the global application menu), but on the application window under the title bar. The only application that still uses global menu is Chromium. Any ideas what settings may have changed? Also, when I right click on the desktop and select "Change Desktop Background", System Settings opens, instead of the "Appearance" settings. Apparently, here is a related question, with no answer: Global menu and HUD suddenly broken EDIT: I noticed this behavior on three of my computers after an update (I do not remember exactly which packages were updated). Now when I try to run apt-get upgrade, I get: The following packages have been kept back: gnome-control-center gnome-control-center-data I guess something is going on with updates. Any info would be appreciated.

  • jQuery: Dynamic image handling (waiting for load)

    I'm trying to write a plugin that has a built in function to wait until all images that are on the page to be loaded before it executes itself. $(window).load() only works if it's the initial load of the page, but if someone wants to pull down some HTML through AJAX that contains images, it doesn't work. Is there any good way of doing this AND implementing it so that it can be self-contained in the plug-in? I've tried looping over $('img').complete, and I know that doesn't work (the images never load, and the browser crashes under a "script takes too long to complete" bug). For an example of what I'm trying to do, visit the page I'm looking to house the plugin at: http://www.simplesli.de If you go to the "more uses" section (click it on the nav bar), you'll see that the image slideshow won't load properly. I know the current code doesn't work, but it's just holding place until I figure something out.

    I am having some strange problems loading content from another XHTML page via jQuery. When the second page I try to load from is served as XHTML I get the below error. I don't know if it helps but both documents validate when I get the error. Uncaught Error: NO_MODIFICATION_ALLOWED_ERR: DOM Exception 7 Currently the header on the second page I load from is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1" ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <meta name="language" content="en" /> <title>some title</title> <!-- CSS & Javascript included here --> </head> The content type is set as: application/xhtml+xml;charset=iso-8859-1 Interestingly, when I remove all the XHTML stuff from the header and stop setting the content type the error does not occur and everything works great. The load process currently looks like the below. It works fine when everything is plain HTML. $('#overpage').find(".wrap").load(this.getTrigger().attr("href")+" #op").show(); I'm curious why the process only does not work when the second page I load from is XHTML. I don't want to serve the page as just plain HTML and am looking for advice on what I am doing wrong. Both pages validate and I'm really scratching my head here. Many thanks!

But when it involved with advanced dynamic ajax control (like ajaxControlToolkit or Telerik controls) that have javascripts inside them This method of injecting the html code to the .InnerHtml property of div tag (for example) IS NOT WORKING , and I red about it that The browser need to load the script on load and after that it won't iterperate the scripts injectd via .InnerHtml. So I attached here example of delay load project (from encosia.com by dave ward) with my modification (look at DefaultPopup.aspx and beforePopup.aspx and AfterPopup.aspx) Which I modified the RssReader to show listview with popup items (which is implemented via ACT HoverMenuExtender ) So in the regular way the popup items are shown right , but on the delay load which is done by creating virtual page for rendering the html and injecting it to .InnerHtml property – This ISN'T WORKING. So my question is : is there a way to do delay loading for controls which include scripts lik ACT and Telerik and others? And for the ajax templates – if I need to inject advanced control to the page – how I do it with your approach?   • How do I get nginx to issue 301 requests to HTTPS location, when SSL handled by a load-balancer?

    I've noticed that there's functionality enabled in nginx by default, whereby a url request without a trailing slash for a directory which exists in the filesystem automatically has a slash added through a 301 redirect. E.g. if the directory css exists within my root, then requesting http://example.com/css will result in a 301 to http://example.com/css/. However, I have another site where the SSL is offloaded by a load-balancer. In this case, when I request https://example.com/css, nginx issues a 301 redirect to http://example.com/css/, despite the fact that the HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO header is set to https by the load balancer. Is this an nginx bug? Or a config setting I've missed somewhere?

    Do I load the scripts/css again in other.html when I'm using the .load('other.html') from index.html? index.html = jQuery & cycle plugin, other.html = jQuery & cycle plugin FF & IE load the other.html fine when they're both (script/css) in the index.html. But Chrome & Safari act as if it can't read the script and css.
