• How to get a list of all software that starts automatically when Windows 7 starts?

  I know that under Windows there are multiple ways to get an app to autostart but I can never remember what all of those ways are. Is there a single unified way to bring up a list of all programs which are set to run themselves at startup and let me disable those I don't want? I'd prefer something built into Windows. I have Windows 7 Starter. But a free / open source / shareware tool would also be acceptable. (This time the software I want to prevent from autostarting is: MSN Messenger, Y! Messenger, and Vodaphone Mobile Broadband, which starts whether the dongle is inserted or not. None of these three are in Windows's "Startup" folder.)

• Trainee programs for foreigner in EU [closed]

  Maybe this is the wrong site for asking that, but I didn't find better. I heard a lot about programs for young IT specialists in EU from other countries, my residence is Ukraine. We have several organizations that provide info about them, but you must pay quite a lot for them to only show you the list of vacancies. Maybe someone knows about companies in EU that are willing to take young programmers for trainee or junior vacancies from non-EU countries? I am interested in C++ development.

• Understanding the Microsoft Permissive License

  I want to use certain parts of the Game State Management Example in a game I'm making, but I'm not sure how to do this legally. It says in the license that I'm supposed to include a copy of the license with it. So if I make a Visual Studio Solution, I just add the license.txt to the solution? Also, if I use a class and change it, do I have to keep the license info at the top or add that I changed it or what?

• ACPI 30k+ interrupts per second

  My computer is currently doing something like 30k+ interrupts per second. This causes battery issues as well as the CPU being always stuck at the highest speed, making it very hot (overheating.. 75C at IDLE) Powertop info: 99.4% (32052.4) [acpi] <interrupt> 0.3% (115.9) [iwlagn] <interrupt> Just to clarify this started suddenly a couple of days ago. It didn't have this issue before (though I had a tonne of headaches with Linux on my computer in general..)

  we are using an openVPN Access Server and I would like to connect to it via the VPN network setting (network-manager-openvpn). I downloaded the client.ovpn and I can connect to the server via the command line: openvpn --script-security 2 --config client.ovpn How can I add the connection to the network manager? • 13.10 upgrade dropping wifi [on hold]

  Almost a complete newb here. After my last upgrade from 12.04 to 13.10 my wifi now randomly drops. The only way I can get a signal back is a shutdown and restart otherwise it shows no network is even available to connect to. Had no problems until the upgrade. Any help would be appreciated.   I've been trying to deploy openstack. I thought Havana was the latest, but deployed nova cloud controller, and the log said 2013-10-24 19:13:25 INFO juju juju-log.go:66 nova-cloud-controller/0: FATAL ERROR: Invalid Cloud Archive release specified: precise-updates/havana. Is there somewhere to see what the latest Juju deployable (with the standard repositories) version is? Or am I just using the wrong format when I specify openstack-origin: cloud:precise-updates/havana in the config?

If desired, purchases can be disabled in the general settings of your device." What's the reason the developer shows this message right in the beginning? Is there any legal obligation to do so?

• asus 1215p cannot get the 1366 x 768 resolution

  Hi everyone, im a little bit stuck. I had a windows 7 starter installed on this netbook, it wasn't that great so I installed windows 7 ultimate. everything is OK apart from the screen resolution. it doesn't let me choose the optimal 1366x768 resolution and defaults to lower quality, in fact it doesn't even list it. I have tried drivers from Microsoft, Asus and Intel and still no joy. Any suggestions? It has the Intel 3150 Graphics Media Accelerator Much appreciated :)

• Allow a web designer to modify DNS without letting them transfer the domain?

  We are in the process of having a web designer create a new website for us, but I don't want to give access to the control panel for the domain names (and have no way to limit it, it seems), while at the same time I don't want to be the go between guy for editing the settings. Is there a way or a service for me to point the domains at a 3rd party DNS system, that I can then give access for the web designer, without worrying that he can find my personal info or try and transfer my domain out?

• How do I save files with libgdx so that users can't read them?

  Writing my game in libgdx, I arrived at the point when I need to save the player stats and the info of the levels. However, in libgdx it's not allowed to write the file inside folder of the application, only external (on the SD) is allowed. The point is that I don't want the file to be seen by anyone, or if they can see it, how can I convert it to a binary file so it's not human readable? I just want to hide the file.

  I have just bought a new netbook, Lenovo S110 with a starter Window 7, 32 bit Operating system. I wanted to wipe away Windows and go with Debian or Ubuntu. I have successfully made my USB drive bootable with the Debian net install. The problem is, my computer always hangs up at the start of the installation (with the latter shown on screen). Keyboard stopped responding , and USB was probably not reading (since it was not blinking anymore). I know the bootable USB drive with Debian installer is working since installation works on other netbooks. What should I do to install Linux on my netbook?

  Title was a little hard to work, but take this as an example. User goes to site, creates account, and then has his/her own profile to edit. Let's say the profile includes height, weight, sex, eye color, etc.. I've really only used wordpress before, but I'm sure something else would cater to this better.   Hello Everyone, I've completed my graduation in Computer Science and currently working as a Software Engineer in a software company. I was wondering if I can build my career in Game Development. If so, what should be my approach. I've a few questions: Which universities to apply for masters? Preferably in Canada. Scholarships available? How shall I prepare myself before applying which shall give me an edge or advantage over others? I know Java, C#, PHP etc. I dont think these languages will be needed in Game Development. In that case, what languages shall I focus on from now? How do I get some ideas about IDE/Engines/Platform of game development? I'm not talking about flash/browser games. Please suggest me anything you want as I don't know much about it so I'm most likely to miss the most important questions.
