• Lotus notes 8.5 quota

  we're using lotus notes 8.5 and I have a user who was over his quota as he had sent 6 email with attachement over 800 MB (no comment...) I deleted these oversized email and empty the trash but domino keep sending email warning about quota. I checked in the all documents view and they are no longer there, I re-did an empty the trash. I saw a post on the internet saying to compact his database, when I go under file, application, properties and click on the info tab, I see that he use 35.7% of the 3 GB database. when I click on "compact" I see a message saying the compact of the database is beeing process... the message disapear after about 1 minutes the message disapear but nothing else seem to happen and when I look back later on the space problem has not changed. any advice would be appreciated.

• Windows 2008 - Define IP Order by port or service

  I have a Windows 2008 server that has three IP bound to the NIC. I can select which IP Windows SMTP listens to, but I want to also set the IP address used when mail is sent. Where would I set which outbound IP to use when sending email? Without using real IPs, here is an example what I have setup. Three IPs associated with the server: 10.0.0.1 10.0.0.2 10.0.0.3 I setup the binding on 10.0.0.2 for port 25 in the SMTP server settings, so that it is the only IP that will respond for inbound. When I look at the email header from an email sent from that server, it lists the server with an address of 10.0.0.3. I would like it to use 10.0.0.2 so that when reverse DNS is performed, it maps back correctly.

• Our server hosting provider asked for our root password

  I work at a company that develops and hosts a small business critical system. We have an "Elastic cloud server" from a professional hosting provider. I recently got an email from them saying that they've had some problems with their backup solution and that they needed to install a new kernel. And they wanted us to send them the root password so they could do this work. I know that the email came from them. It's not [email protected] or anything like that. I called them and asked them about this, and they were like "yep, we need the password to do this". It just seems odd to send the root password over email like this. Do I have any reason to be concerned?

• Windows 8 account and MSN

  I've installed windows 8 and during setup it wanted my email. I provided an alternative email (let's call it email_1) for the installation to complete. Then I've installed windows live (msn only), for which I use another email (email_2). Now, every time I start windows and open msn, I'm signed in with email_1. I selected "forget me" for email_1 address in the msn login window, but I'm somehow always signed in with email_1. Is there any way to completely remove email_1 from the msn?

• Exchange 2010 550 5.7.1 unable to relay

  I have a website application that needs to send email via our Exchange servers. It sends email internally fine, but when sending to an external address I get the 550 5.7.1 unable to relay error. I followed this guide to create a connector to allow relay. Unfortunately, all office email was trying to use that connector and was not being routed correctly. It also appeared as though it opened it up for spammers to use. This is obviously unacceptable and a secure method is needed.

• Opening a Corrupted winmail.dat file

  I have a set of winmail.dat files that apparently have evolved from a set of emails with corrupted headers. It looks like Exchange 2010 changed the headers around sometime last September and basically rendered exported .eml files unable to open. Now the HTML/PlainText emails seem to do ok, but the files that use RichText (specifically Microsoft's TNEF format) will not open in any program, Microsoft or not. I've attempted to use many different non-Microsoft converters and they see it as a corrupted message as well. If I remove the headers of the email, rename it as a winmail.dat file, some emails will open in Word, but most won't. If you take a look at the email in a text editor, there are null characters EVERYWHERE that distort the email itself. Anybody have any experience with this and/or suggestions on how to at least open it?

• Gmail Embed Image Icon

  I'm using the Gmail labs feature that allows me to embed images into emails. The feature works fine and when I send the email, I believe it actually does embed the image and the recipient sees it as such. But when I look in my sent box and bring up the email, instead of the embedded image, I see an icon in its place. Is this correct? Why is this like this? I want to be able to see the embedded image just like when the email was composed.

  we have our exchange server 2007 (10.10.2.11) at work with domain "dddddd.com" and ironport and it work just fine! we need to test some thing at work with Exchange 2010 !! so we came up with this idea: we created a locked network and install firewall (10.10.2.88) the locked network has it's own DC and Exchange servers! we used the domain "dddddd.loc" any way it will be deleted! IPs DC 10.0.0.1 EX 10.0.0.11 now the Exchange server up and running in the firewall (10.10.2.88) we opened the ports and forwarded it to the Exchange2010 (10.0.0.11) in our main DC we defined the zone dddddd.loc to the firewall and the MX records as well but when we test we get error now how to make it so that the 2010 will send email directly to the 2007 (we will not use it to more that that)? and the 2007 will send the email to 2010 if the email has the domain dddddd.loc ?

While processing the log files for user ***, the cpu has been maxed out for more than a 6 hour period. The current load/uptime line on the server at the time of this email is 04:41:14 up 15 days, 22:36, 0 users, load average: 7.66, 7.84, 8.00 You should check the server to see why the load is so high and take steps to lower the load. If you want stats to continue to run even with a high load; Edit /var/cpanel/cpanel.config and change extracpus to a number larger then 0 (run /usr/local/cpanel/startup afterwards to pickup the changes). How can I lower the load?

  Today I wanted to print an email from the Mail app (modern UI). I selected devices from the charms bar, and I chose my printer. The problem is that it was a very long email (a 40 replies unthreaded email), and I only needed the first page. It looks like there is no way to select a page range in the simple printing dialog, am I right? I solved the problem by inserting just one page in the printer and then deleting the job, but this is not a real fix... (I could print to a PDF printer, then open in Acrobat and print again, but...)

  I've a Ubuntu webserver with Sendmail as my MTA Currently when i email outside my webserver's domain e.g. example.com to something like gmail or any other email outside the example.com domain it works perfectly. I don't want my sendmail daemon to recognize example.com as a local address I want it to send to example.com the same way any other email is sent. There will never be a case were i will use the local users on the webserver to collect these emails for example.com. So how can I disable local delivery?

• how to trace an outlook mail not arriving to its destination when is sent to another domain?

  Hi, I have an domain account configured with Ipower.com. If I use an email client such as Evolution, the mails arrive as expected. However if I use Outlook 2007 (as everybody in this company) the mails only arrive if the destination belongs to the same domain. That means when the destination is a gmail address, for example, the test email falls into a sort of black hole... This is just a simple ipower setup, nothing of Exchange or something like that. What else can I do to isolate and fix this issue? This is driving me nuts because in other email client with the same exact configuration in the same machine, everything works well and I need to fix the thing in Outlook.

• old .pst files on a networked drive still being accessed

  Real quick question, A few months back I have set up email accounts exchange using AD on a domain all is fine. (email, address books ,calendars etc.) But I left the old .pst files on a networked drive. For some reason outlook the clients are still accessessing the old .pst not for (email, address books ,calendars). I have removed an account with no adverse effect as a test. But can any one tell me why outlook is still accessing the old .pst, as I was going to delete all the old .pst files until they all had todays timestamp on.

• Can I make Emailing an address that forwards back to me appear in the inbox?

  I have a gmail address that's my primary email. I have a couple short email addresses on my own domain that I have set to forward to the gmail acct. For various reasons, I like to email these addresses from my gmail account (which then forward back to myself). The frustration is, these emails do not show up in my inbox - only the ALL MAIL tab. There's a filter for skip the inbox. Why can't there be one for put it in the inbox?

• Is there a way to convert a list of cc'es to a distribution list in Outlook?

  In Outlook 2003, I find myself frequently sending emails to the same group of people all working on a project. I'd like to find a simple way to convert the list of addresses in an email that I would "reply all" to into an Outlook distribution list for future use. I know how to create Outlook distribution lists, that's not my question. But the normal process that I see in Outlook requires adding the names to the list one by one. If I have an email with a large "reply all" list is there any way to take that whole list all at once (including many email addresses not otherwise already in my Outlook contacts) and convert it to a distribution list in one step? Trying to google for this answer got me many, many pages of instructions on how to create a distribution list, but I can't seem to find the search term to locate an answer on how to convert a list of address.

• How can I forward certain emails based on header information with Postfix?

  We receive service requests via a particular email. The request is then forwarded to other addresses, using an entry in virtual_alias_maps. Upon seeing the word "EMERGENCY" in the subject line of a request to this email, I would also like to forward this to another address (an alias of our administrator's SMS email addresses). I think I can accomplish this with header checks and the REDIRECT command. However, REDIRECT only sends it to the redirected address, not the forwarded addresses. In the case of "EMERGENCY" I would like it to go to the redirect address and the original forwarded addresses. I am fairly new to Postfix and I feel like I am missing something here. Any suggestions?

• Drools flow architecture, Drools flow events with AND join nodes

  I have been evaluating a number of frameworks including jBPM and Drools flow for my application requirements. Lots of the opinions seem to be inclined towards Drools flow as its more flexible, knowledge oriented, easier to integrate with business rules, etc.. The application is some sort of an Email Campaign manager , where different customers can sign in, prepare (design) and launch email campaigns. The application should be able to do the following : 1- Receive a list of email addresses, send emails to each of these addresses starting from a certain date and during a certain time interval of the day , do some custom actions, and then wait for reply emails. 2- If a reply email is received and depending on the response text of the email , and depending on the time the email was received certain actions need to happen, web service calls need to take place, and error handling for these calls. 3- The application will manage and run many and different campaigns (different customers and different flows for each customer) at any point of time. The first question is : Is Drools flow the way to go about this? My main concerns are scalability, suspending, resuming flows, and long wait, and flows management. As you see from the requirements : There is a scheduling part : Certain flows need to be run at a certain point in time, they need to get suspended and then resumed. For example start sending emails starting on Dec 1st 2010 and send emails only in the time interval between 08:00 and 17:00 GMT. By then it might be that all subscribers have been sent emails, but it might not be the case, the process needs to (resume) on Dec 2nd and send a second batch, however certain (users) already received emails and they should be able to (continue at different stages of the flow) There are long wait states : Days or even weeks , i need to persist, suspend / resume and terminate flows (manage flows) External Events : This is where i got stuck first, i tried to put together a simple flow (see attached screenshot) See image http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/9620/workflowwithevents.png , there is a start node , connected to an action node, connected to a join. An event node is connected to a second action node, which is connected to the join. The join is an AND join , after the join there is an action and the end node. In addition any hints about the way to go about architecting the solution, and implementing it would be great.

• Twitter Bootstrap modal spans, side-by-side divs and "control-group"?

  I'm trying my best to have a good looking modal login form but for some reasons it seems that no matter how I nest divs, I cannot obtain the proper shape. What I need is a big "lock" image side-by-side with a username/password form. The best I could do adds a horizontal scroller by the modal bottom and shows the input gadgets fairly distant from the image partly hidden on the right side of the modal canvas. Inspecting with FireBug it seems that the spans in row-fluid are ok but the "control-label" and "controls" class adds way too much space on the left by width (for the labels) and margin-left (for the controls). How would you solve it? Am I doing something wrong with divs and classes nesting? • Losing sessions on GlassFish

  I have a web application that logs users in a @SessionScoped managed bean. It's all the basic stuff, pretty much like this: users logs in using regular http form and gets redirect to user area (wich is protected using a filter). But if any resource on that area is accessed, the request somehow uses a new session, wich has no managed bean, no user, and the filter does his job, redirecting him to login page. • CFStrings and storing them into models, related topics

  I have a very frustrating issue that I believe involves CFStringRef and passing them along to custom model properties. The code is pretty messy right now as I am in a debug state, but I will try to describe the problem in words as best as I can. I have a custom model, User, which for irrelevant reasons, I am storing CF types derived from the Address Book API into. Examples include: Name, email as NSStrings. I am simply retrieving the CFStringRef value from the AddressBook API and casting as a string, whereupon I assign to the custom model instance and then CFRelease the string. These NSString properties are set as (nonatomic, retain). I then store this model into an NSArray, and I use this Array as a datasource for a UITableView When accessing the object in the cellForRowAtIndexPath, I get a memory access error. When I do a Debug, I see that the value for this datasource array appears at first glance to be corrupted. I've seen strange values assigned to it, including just plain strings, such as one that I fed to an NSLog function in earlier in the method. So, the thing that leads me to believe that this is Core Foundation related is that I am executing this exact same code, in the same class even, on non-Address Book data, in fact, just good old JSON parsed strings, which produce true Cocoa NSStrings, that I follow the same exact steps to create the datasource array. This code works fine. I have a feeling that my (retain) property declaration and/or my [stringVar release] in my custom model dealloc method may be causing memory problems (since it is my understanding that you shouldn't call a Cocoa retain or release on a CF object). Here is the code. I know some of this is super-roundabout but I was trying to make things as explicit as possible for the sake of debugging. (Before you say it: Yes, I know that not all browsers support PUT -- this is just an example implementation for an api/framework, and ultimately will not be called by a browser, but rather by a server-side library that does support the extra http verbs.) I tried wrapping each field value lookup in an escape: firstname: escape($("#update input[name=firstname]").val()) But that makes things worse: firstname=Austin&lastname=Weber&address=25463%2520Main%2520Street%252C%2520Suite%2520C&city=Berkeley&state=CA&postalcode=94707-4513&email=austin%40life.com&phone=555-513-4318&fax=510-513-4888&thepassword=nopolyes In this case, the value is being escaped twice; so first the space is encoded to %20, and then the % sign is escaped to %25 resulting in the %2520 for spaces, and %252C for the comma in the address field. What am I doing wrong here?
