    Hi all, I have the same problem as described here, but I will supply a few more details. While trying to upload a video in Android, I'm reading it into memory, and if the video is large I get an OutOfMemoryError. But (newbie question alert) does that mean that I should make multiple PostMethod requests, and glue the file together at the server end? Or can I load the bytestream into memory in chunks, and glue it together in the Android code? If anyone could give me a clue as to the best approach, I would be very grateful.

  • Class initialization issues loading java.util.LogManager in Android Dalvik VM

    I've done changes in an Android native library and installed a new system.img file but am now getting an unrelated Error on startup. I can get past it by swallowing the error but I wanted to know if anyone can explain what the issue is. The Android implementation of Logger.java claims that it is Forcing the LogManager to be initialized since its class init code performs necessary one-time setup. But this forced initialization results in a NoClassDefFoundError. I'm thinking that it has something to do with the class not having been preloaded by Zygote yet but am not that familiar with the whole class loaders and VM business.   • ASP.net FFMPEG video conversion receiving error: "Error number -2 occurred"

    Hello, I am attempting to integrate FFMPEG into my asp.net website. The process I am trying to complete is to upload a video, check if it is .avi, .mov, or .wmv and then convert this video into an mp4 using x264 so my flash player can play it. I am using an http handler (ashx) file to handle my upload. This is where I am also putting my conversion code. I am not sure if this is the best place to put it, but I wanted to see if i could at least get it working. Additionally, I was able to complete the conversion manually through cmd line. The error -2 comes up when i output the standard error from the process I executed.   • Problem receving in RXTX

    I've been using RXTX for about a year now, without too many problems. I just started a new program to interact with a new piece of hardware, so I reused the connect() method I've used on my other projects, but I have a weird problem I've never seen before. The Problem The device works fine, because when I connect with hyperterminal, I send things and receive what I expect, and Serial Port Monitor(SPM) reflects this. However, when I run the simple hyperterminal-clone I wrote to diagnose the problem I'm having with my main app, bytes are sent, according to SPM, but nothing is received, and my SerialPortEventListener never fires. Even when I check for available data in the main loop, reader.ready() returns false. If I ignore this check, then I get an exception, details below. Edit: something interesting When I open hyperterminal after sending a bunch of commands from java that should have gotten responses, all of the responses appear immediately, as if they had been put in the buffer somewhere, but unavailable. Edit 2: Tried something new, same results I ran the code example found here, with the same results. No data came in, but when I switched to a new program, it came all at once. Edit 3 The hardware is fine, and even a different computer has the same problem. I am not using any sort of USB adapter. I've started using PortMon, too, and it's giving me some interesting results. Hyperterminal and RXTX are not using the same settings, and RXTX always polls the port, unlike HyperTerminal, but I still can't see what settings would affect this. As soon as I can isolate the configuration from the constant polling, I'll post my PortMon logs. Edit 4 Is it possible that some sort of Windows update in the last 3 months could have caused this? It has screwed up one of my MATLAB mex-based programs once. Edit 5 I've also noticed some things that are different between HyperTerminal, RXTX, and a separate program I found that communicates with the device (but doesn't do what I want, which is why I'm rolling my own program) HyperTerminal - set to no flow control, but Serial Port Monitor's RTS and DTR indicators are green Other program - not sure what settings it thinks it's using, but only SPM's RTS indicator is green RXTX - no matter what flow control I set, only SPM's CTS and DTR indicators are on.     Hey guys I had a question regarding scalability for my RoR application. We have been optimizing our application over the last few days and after running blitz.io, notice that our application times out after maybe 1000 hits in 30 seconds we experienced massive timeouts. In the 1 minute test apparently 74% of users would have timed out. Look at the performance of my website: http://blitz.io/report/1c8eb2f395a5eadeabd62fd831ada9e5 Not saying that our website will in any way experience this now, but I wish to design the infrastructure to handle this. What is normally done in this situation? Currently we have one web server and one database server. Would load balancing be the route to go?

  • Can't manage iPod from linux anymore

    I used to be able to see and manage my iPod with different softwares: Amarok, Rhythmbox, GTKPod. The device is a nano 1st generation 4gb. NOTE: just noticed that if I mount the device manually instead of letting nautilus automount it, I can see it again on GTKPod but still not on Banshee AND it's vanished from Rhythmbox...

    Does Xeon westmere ep (xeon 56xx series) have vt-d (=iommy / direct io) or does intel TXT (Intel® Trusted Execution Technology) include vt-d? I'm at a loss. I've been researching current processors for an important project for some time now. I need to know, if the xeon 5600s (Westmere EP) include vt-d (iommu/directed io/pci passing) because the system will run virtualized guests. This enables direct hardware access eg. pci passthrough, in xen for example. It seems that the 5600s TXT should incorporate vt-d and that xeon 5600s should include vt-d as they are ramped up 5500s, but there is no conclusive answer anywhere. Intel's processor comparison only states that 5500s have vt-d and no TXT and 5600s have no vt-d but TXT. I'd be really grateful if anybody could clear this up and possibly even provide a citation. But only one problem it doesn't allow for resume. I took the original code called it fetch.aspx and pass an orderNUM through the URL. fetch.aspx&ordernum=xxxxxxx It then reads the filename/location from the database occording to the ordernumber, and chunks it out from a secured location NOT under the webroot. I need a way to make this resumable, by the nature of the internet and large files people always get disconnected and would like to resume where they left off. But any resumable articles i've read, assume the file is within the webroot.. ie. http://www.devx.com/dotnet/Article/22533/1954 Great article and works well, but I need to stream from a secured location. I'm not a .NET coder at all, at best i can do a bit of coldfusion, if anyone could help me modify a handler to do this, i would really appreciate it. Requirements: I Have a working fetch.aspx script that functions well and uses the above code snippet as a base for the streamed downloading. Download files are large 600MB and are stored in a secured location outside of the webroot. Users click on the fetch.aspx to start the download, and would therefore be clicking it again if it was to fail. If the ext is a .ASPX and the file being sent is a AVI, clicking on it would completely bypass an IHTTP handler mapped to .AVI ext, so this confuses me From what I understand the browser will read and match etag value and file modified date to determine they are talking about the same file, then a subsequent accept-range is exchanged between the browser and IIS. Since this dialog happens with IIS, we need to use a handler to intercept and respond accordingly, but clicking on the link would send it to an ASPX file which the handeler needs to be on an AVI fiel.. Also confusing me. If there is a way to request the initial HTTP request header containing etag, accept-range into the normal .ASPX file, i could read those values and if the accept-range and etag exist, start chunking at that byte value somehow? but I couldn't find a way to transfer the http request headers since they seem to get lost at the IIS level. OrderNum which is passed in the URL string is unique and could be used as the ETag Response.AddHeader("ETag", request("ordernum")) Files need to be resumable and chunked out due to size. File extensions are .AVI so a handler could be written around it. IIS 6.0 Web Server Any help would really be appreciated, i've been reading and reading and downloading code, but none of the examples given meet my situation with the original file being streamed from outside of the webroot. Please help me get a handle on these httphandlers :)

I would like to import binary data into memory from a large (zipped or similar) file without decompressing to disk first and afterwards writing to disk in a compressed way. Maybe some trick with shell pipes and the zip utility?

I want to write a "simple" Finder service that ejects the disk image and trashes the accompanying .dmg. The ejecting is trivial, but I'm at a loss as to how to figure out the path of the .dmg, given just the mount point. diskutil doesn't seem to know or isn't saying. It's for a script, so AppleScript- or shell-based suggestions are preferred.

The type or namespace 'Form1' could not be found(are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) cannot even Change the name back to Form1. it says cannot find WebBrowser.cs on disk its is renamed or deleted from the disk.
