    Does anyone know how to create a 1:1 disk image of an Android phone? I am taking a forensics course and our final project involves creating tools to recover information from a suspect's Android based phone, however to do this we need to be able to create a 1:1 image of the phone's disk for baseline comparisons. Also would the image be loadable into AVD?

    Due to a Hard disk problem I am trying to shift a partition from one hard disk to another. I am following http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-partplan.html article to do that. In the copying part I would like to ignore one particular sub directory. How can I accomplish that keeping in mind when copying I have to preserve my owner group and time stamp. There is around 700 GB of data that needs to be copied if I do not ignore a particular subdirectory.

But my XBAP app runs in the partial trust mode, so it can't initiate SaveFileDialog, not to mention it can't access the File System.     Afetr using the Model library (see this) for my Maven pom.xml during this weeks I jumped on this error while attempting to write a ConfiguratonContainer into the pom.xml. The javadoc for Model says: public void setConfiguration(Object configuration) Set the configuration as DOM object. Parameters: configuration - So I made some xml with Document (org.w3c.dom.Document) and the xml parser standar javax library. You know the code (it's through all the net) but I paste it here... DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); DocumentBuilder parser = factory.newDocumentBuilder(); Document doc =parser.newDocument(); And then you fill the code with Element declaration,a lot of appendChild and such. And tried to make it work. Doesn't seem to do well. First tried using plugin.setConfiguration(doc); But it didn't work. Then I tried Obejct obj = doc; plugin.setConfiguration(obj); But it didn't work. Then I searched the net for answers, and guess... It didn't work. There are like 0 people using this library (maven.model) in all the net. So here am I again, asking the senseis for help. Where is my error? I have downloaded the source code of the library trying to see where is the error, but it seems to be ok (as should).   • Providing raw MP3/AAC data to Flex/Flash from a custom container

    Having had a quick look at the Flex docs I can't seem to find any reference to providing audio content to be played from a custom (possibly encrypted - don't worry, it's not that evil) container format. Is this possible and if so, could someone point me in the right direction. Or if that's not possible, some way to hook into the disk/network (disk is much more important in this case) I/O of the sound playing mechanism to provide a supported container in memory from a custom wrapper.

But it seems the other columns changed by relatively negligible amounts - how is this possible? Am I interpreting this wrong, or is some memory just not being accounted for in this output?

I see two different terms, double paging on disk and double paging in memory. Apparently this problem arises when we introduce a buffer cache to store disk blocks when doing File I/O But I'm not really sure what exactly this term means. If anybody could specify it would be very helpful.

Now I'm wondering, how I can find out when someone has changed his/her profile picture on Facebook that I have to load the new image from the web instead of using the one cached disk. The url of the image is always the same. Is there a lightweight way of doing this without downloading the image and comparing it to the local file?

    Hi everyone. I’m almost giving up, this will be my last try: I try to compile Etherpad on my OpenVZ server. It’s running a Debian 5.0 as the host system, in the VE I’ve got Ubuntu 10.04. I installed Etherpad in this VE with the instructions from the official Ubuntu Wiki: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Etherpad. Everything runs fine until it comes to compilation. After calling bin/build.sh as described in the wiki the first steps are running fine. But then I’m running into a memory error: java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "cp": java.io.IOException: error=12, Cannot allocate memory Well, I understand the error message but don’t see the cause. The command free tells me that there’s plenty memory left in this VE: total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 2415236 1140872 1274364 0 0 0 -/+ buffers/cache: 1140872 1274364 Swap: 0 0 0 Beautiful. But even repeating the compilation process doesn’t bring me any further. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi, I have a StreamReader object that I initialized with a stream, now I want to save this stream to disk (the stream may be a gif or jpg or pdf etc). SO my code so far is: StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(myOtherObject.InputStream); I need to save this to disk (I have the filename). In the future I may want to store this to sqlserver I have the encoding type also, which I will need if I store it to sql server right?

    When coping a file greater than 64kB from an Ubuntu server to a CIFS mounted windows share, most of the data is copied, but it seems the last chunk doesn't get copied. The size doesn't match, and the md5 check sums don't match.
