• Creating Actions from UIActionSheets help

  I am using two UIAction sheets within my current project. I can get one to work perfectly fine but when i insert a second action sheet it runs the same arguements as the first. • How to access files in interior of an iPhone App?

  Hi everyone! I need in a iPhone app to access files that the app is build with(.plist etc). There's an hardcoded way to do this: NSString *appDir = [[[NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES) objectAtIndex:0] stringByDeletingLastPathComponent] stringByAppendingPathComponent:appFolder]; where appFolder is the name of folder app, like "test.app". After the appDir is known, to access files is simple. Is there any other, not-hardcoded way to have access to files form the app? Thanks in Advance!

  Hey. I am trying to make an integer match another integer by adding a number to one of them. I have tried several loop types, but none has worked. I need to search only between items that match pattern Word* and not * Word *. For example if I search "roma", this need to match just with "Roma" or "Romania" and not with "Castelli di Roma". Is that possible with this searchbar? How can i modify this? Thanks

• Having trouble hiding keyboard using invisible button which sits on top of uiscrollview

  I have 3 items in play... 1) UIView sits at the base of the hierarchy and contains the UIScrollview. 2) UIScrollview that is presenting a lengthy user form. 3) An invisible button on the UIScrollview that I'm using to provide "hide the keyboard" features. Notice in the code below that I'm registering to be notified when the keyboard is going to appear and again when it's going to disappear. These are working great. My problem is seemingly one of "layers". See below where I insert the button into the view atIndex:0. This causes the button to be activated and "stuffed" behind the scrollview so that when you click on it, the scrollview grabs the touch and the button is unaware. There is no way to "reach" the button and suppress the keyboard. However, if I insert atIndex:1, the button gets super imposed on top of the text entry fields and so any touch at all is acted upon by the button, which immediately suppresses the keyboard and then disappears. How do I insert the button on top of the UIScrollview but behind the UITextfields that sit there? other logistics: I have a -(void) hidekeyboard function that I have setup with the UIButtion as an IBAction(). And I have the UIButton connected to "files owner" via a ctrl-drag/drop. (Do I need both of those conventions?) This code in ViewDidLoad()... • Is it possible to invoke NSDictionary's valueForKeyPath: when a key contains periods?

  I'm trying to get the value of the repeatInterval key in the com.apple.scheduler plist. I'd like to just use NSDictionary's valueForKeyPath: method like so: CFPropertyListRef value; value = CFPreferencesCopyValue(CFSTR("AbsoluteSchedule"), CFSTR("com.apple.scheduler"), kCFPreferencesCurrentUser, kCFPreferencesCurrentHost); NSNumber *repeatInterval = [(NSDictionary *)value valueForKeyPath:@"com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.SUCheckSchedulerTag.Timer.repeatInterval"]; But the problem with this is that the first key is really "com.apple.SoftwareUpdate", not just "com". I can get around this by getting that first value separately: NSDictionary *dict = [(NSDictionary *)value valueForKey:@"com.apple.SoftwareUpdate"]; NSNumber *repeatInterval = [dict valueForKeyPath:@"SUCheckSchedulerTag.Timer.repeatInterval"]; I just wanted to know if there is a way to escape periods in a keypath so I can eliminate this extra step.

  I had the same problem that The-Kenny at this post but I fixed it adding the windowDidResignKey: method on the MAAttachedWindow.m, but now my problem is that when I click outside the StatusBar item keeps blue background and when I click another time on the status item it goes normally and I have to click a second time on it to show the window.   Is there any way to get the content of a webfile (namely a .html Document) using a proxy, which is not defined in the system settings? I know that NSURLConnection is the right way to download a web file into a variable and not into a file (for which we should use NSURLDownload), but I don't find a way to use a proxy for it.   In my 'cellForRowAtIndexPath' method for a UITableView delegate, I'm allocating a cell if it doesn't exist, and in this cell, I'm creating a new activity spinner like so: UIActivityIndicatorView *actView = [[[UIActivityIndicatorView alloc] initWithActivityIndicatorStyle:UIActivityIndicatorViewStyleGray ] autorelease]; I'm using Leaks to detect memory leaks in my program, and for some reason, this is coming up as a leak, even though it's autoreleasing. The cell itself is also autoreleasing. Has anyone had experience with autoreleasing variables coming up as leaks in the Leaks instrument, and how to tackle these problems? Also, if it helps, this is the history Leaks is displaying for this memory location. It looks like it at some point gets an additional retain message? This is not being done in my code.

  Hello another stupid question regarding leaks and also NSURLConnection. How do i release it? Is it enough if i release in the following 2 methods?   Hello i have the following error: malloc: * error for object 0x2087000: pointer being freed was not allocated * set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug I have no idea what object that is. I don't know how to find it. Can anybody explain to me how (and where) to use malloc_history. I have set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break but i couldn't find out what object is at that address. I receive this after removing an object from an nsmutablearray and popping a view controller manually.   I'm currently struggling with Core Data iCloud migration. I want to move a store from an iCloud ubiquity container (.nosync) to a local URL. If you wish to use the store without iCloud, migrate the data from the iCloud store file to a new store file in local storage. file://localhost/Users/sch/Library/Containers/bla/Data/Documents/tmp.sqlite. This will be a fatal error in a future release Anyone ever seen this error? Maybe I'm just missing the right migration options?

  I have an entity called 'Job' with two boolean attributes named 'completed' and 'logged'. I am trying to retrieve all completed jobs that have not been logged at app start-up and change them to logged. I'm able to get all the completed but unlogged jobs with this fetchRequest: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"(completed == %@ && logged == %@)", [NSNumber numberWithBool:YES], [NSNumber numberWithBool:NO]]; I'm then assigning this predicate to a fetchRequest and calling the [managedObjectContext executeFetchRequest:fetchRequest] method to get an array of all Job entities that meet this criteria. This seems to work fine and is returning the correct number of jobs. What I've been trying to do is loop through the NSArray returned, set the logged attribute to YES and then save. This seems to complete and doesn't return any errors but the changes are not persisted when the application quits. Where am I going wrong?   I am creating a Cocoa Application for Mac OS 10.6 , and I want to hide the toolbar of an NSWindow automatically when it is not in use for at least 30 seconds. I think this can be done with NSTimers, but I'm not familiar with them and I don't know how I can implement this. Another problem is that both the NSToolbarDelegate and NSWindowDelegate protocols don't have delegate methods like toolbarDidShow: Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks. PS. This is not to punish the user, but rather give the user a cleaner window (the window consist of only a toolbar for color and font and a text-view). PPS. Can the hide-toolbar-animation lead into a problem with the cursor while the user is typing?
