    I'm having problems with dynamic sorting using ROW Number in SQL Server. I have it working but it's throwing errors on non numeric fields. What do I need to change to get sorts with Alpha Working???     Hello, I have two tables in a SQL Server 2008 database in my company. The first table represents the products that my company sells. The second table contains the product manufacturer’s details. These tables are defined as follows: Product ------- ID Name ManufacturerID Description Manufacturer ------------ ID Name As you can imagine, I want to make this as easy as possible for our customers to query this data. However, I’m having problems writing a forgiving, yet powerful search query. For instance, I’m anticipating people to search based on phonetical spellings. Because of this, the data may not match the exact data in my database. In addition, I think some individuals will search by manufacturer’s name first, but I want the matching product names to appear first. Based on these requirements, I’m currently working on the following query: select p.Name as 'ProductName', m.Name as 'Manufacturer', r.Rank as 'Rank' from Product p inner join Manufacturer m on p.ManufacturerID=m.ID inner join CONTAINSTABLE(Product, Name, @searchQuery) as r Oddly, this query is throwing an error. However, I have no idea why. Squiggles appear to the right of the last parenthesis in management studio. The tool tip says "An expression of non-boolean type specified in a context where a condition is expected". I understand what this statement means. However, I guess I do not know how COntainsTable works. What am I doing wrong? Thank you

  • Retrieve text from external HTML/asp page with JavaScript

    Hi, I am using an external asp page (On the company's server - not related to me beside the fact that I'm using it for my job). The asp page has one query in it, I'm writing something in it and it gives me some information. In the information there is a certain line with constant header (let's assume 'HEADER'), I want to build an HTA that pulls the line that contains 'HEADER' to my HTA and display only this line. I think that this isn't possible without any server interaction, but I'm asking anyway. Can someone think of a way doing it? Thanks, Rotem

    Sorry if this question is mind numbingly easy to answer, but I'm a bit new to JQuery and I have a tight deadline. I am looking for a selector for textbox elements that have this format: id = "FixedName_#" "FixedName" will always be "FixedName", but I only want to find elements where the # is positive. So I would want to find "FixedName_1", and "FixedName_2" for example, but skip over "FixedName_-1" and "FixedName_-2". Thanks!

    Remarks Before I ask, let me focus on words: the length of "i" is 1 the length of "w" is 1 the render width of "w" is greater than "i" (except for monospace font) -- I am interested in this and from now on, I would simply write "width" The problem (small picture) Let's say I have incredible long text set for TextBlock widget which width is 100. And the text does not fit (the text is clipped -- i.e. only small portion of text is visible). The question is -- what is the width of the entire text (visible + not visible parts)? The background (big picture) I have a window width DataGrid (WPF standard) as main widget which contains text. I try to resize window and DataGrid in such way, that all texts will be visible without need of resizing and/or scrolling. I focus on width. The size of the window vs. size of the screen is not an issue, the text is so short that it would fit even on netbook screen.

    I have a strange problem I've come across. My app can write a simple textfile to SD card and sometimes it works for some people but not for others and I have no idea why. Some people it force closes if they put some characters like "..." in it and such. I cannot seem to reproduce it as I've had no troubles but this is the code that handles it.     I'm using a vertical UIButton in a portrait app (Just a normal button that is of width 60 and Height 160) I want to put the label Vetically down the button instead of across it. When I use the following code to rotate the label [workPackageButton.titleLabel setTransform:CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(M_PI / 2)]; It rotates the label but the length seems to be constrained by the original width, so I get the ... abreviation in the middle. Is there an easy way round this?

    Calling toString() on the function below returns different strings across browsers. I understand this is because ECMA-262 15.3.4.2 leaves wiggle room for each vendor. Chrome returns the comments in addition to all syntax. Sadly Firefox 3.6 omits the comments. Based on Firefox's behavior I haven't tested IE, Opera, or Safari. function foo() { /* comment */ var bar = true; } Specifically, I am attempting to embed meta data within a specially formatted comment block within a function. Later the return value of the functions toString() method would be parsed and values returned as an object. I've been unable to locate compatibility tables or alternatives to toString(). Does the community have any ideas? Btw, pre-processing JS files isn't an option. :( Thanks a lot. :)

    I'm building an AST using ANTLR. I want to write a production that match a this string: ${identifier} so, in my grammar file I have: reference : DOLLAR LBRACE IDENT RBRACE -> ^(NODE_VAR_REFERENCE IDENT) ; This works fine. I'm using my own adaptor to emit tree nodes. The rewrite rule used creates for me two nodes: one for NODE_VAR_REFERENCE and one for IDENT. What I want to do is create only one node (for NODE_VAR_REFERENCE token) and this node must have the IDENT token in his "token" field. Is this possible using a rewrite rule? Thanks.

    How do I append a string to all the files in a directory that starts with a particular string? I tried, cat mysig >> F* But instead of appending contents of mysig to all files starting with F, it creates a file named "F*". Obviously wildcard doesn't seem to work. Any alternatives? Thanks in advance. Edit: Also how do I delete this newly created file "F*" safely?. Using rm F* would delete all the files starting with F which I wouldn't want.

  • How would I create a VIM or Vi command to delete all text after a certain character for every line i

    Scenario: I have a text file that has pipe (as in the "|" character) delimited data. Each field of data in the pipe delimited fields can be of variable length, so counting characters won't work (or using some sort of substring function... if that even exists in VIM). Is it possible, using VIM / Vi to delete all data from the second pipe to the end of the line for the entire file? There are approx 150,000 lines, so doing this manually would only be appealing to a masochist... e.g. Change the following lines from: 1111|random sized text 12345|more random data la la la|1111|abcde 2222|random sized text abcdefghijk|la la la la|2222|defgh 3333|random sized text|more random data|33333|ijklmnop to: 1111|random sized text 12345 2222|random sized text abcdefghijk 3333|random sized text I'm sure this can be done somehow... I hope. TIA UPDATE: I should have mentioned that I'm running this on Windows XP, so I don't have access to some of the mentioned *nix commands (CUT is not recognized on Windows).
