  • Multimedia content in REST responce(XML/JSON)

    - by Koushik
In my thesis I need to test different architectures. A request to a REST web service developed using Apache CXF and Spring MVC with MySQL as back end serving references(a field in database) to images, audio and video files stored in file system. In the response message, what is the best method to send the content to the client(another application using the service which I developed). URI: http://www.filmservices.com/film/{id} A client here is not the end user. Send the encoded hyperlink's(where the content is stored in the file system) to the client, so that the client renders the response and displays it to the browser. Use Base64 to encode the message(image, audio, video) and send it to the client. Main concern is performance.

  • How to Generate Embeddable Widgets, and Return PartialView, JS & CSS as JSONP?

    - by DaveDev
I found this question which is a great starting point towards creating embedded widgets that enable showing dynamic content on remote sites (i.e. a different domain). One problem I'm having is with the following code: public ActionResult SomeAction() { return new JsonpResult { Data = new { Widget = "some partial html for the widget" } }; } It says Widget = "some partial html for the widget" but this doesn't really mean anything to me. I assume that Widget would contain the HTML representing what the user wants to see on the screen, but How do I get the contents of my Partial View into Widget? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks..

  • using usort to re-arrange multi-dimension array

    - by Thomas Bennett
    I have a large array: [0] => stdClass Object ( [products] => Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [body_html] => bodyhtml [published_at] => 2012-12-16T23:59:18+00:00 [created_at] => 2012-12-16T11:30:24+00:00 [updated_at] => 2012-12-18T10:52:14+00:00 [vendor] => Name [product_type] => type ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [body_html] => bodyhtml [published_at] => 2012-12-16T23:59:18+00:00 [created_at] => 2012-12-16T10:30:24+00:00 [updated_at] => 2012-12-18T10:52:14+00:00 [vendor] => Name [product_type] => type ) ) ) and I need to arrange each of the products by the date they where created... I've tried and failed all kinds of usort, ksort, uksort techniques to try and get it to be in a specific order (chronological) but failed! any guidance would be most appreciated

  • One-liner javascript to collect values from object graph?

    - by Kevin Pauli
Given the following object graph: { "children": [ { "child": { "pets": [ { "pet": { "name": "fido" } }, { "pet": { "name": "fluffy" } } ] } }, { "child": { "pets": [ { "pet": { "name": "spike" } } ] } } ] } What would be a nice one-liner (or two) to collect the names of my grandchildren's pets? The result should be ["fido", "fluffy", "spike"] I don't want to write custom methods for this... I'm looking for something like the way jQuery works in selecting dom nodes, where you can just give it a CSS-like path and it collects them up for you. I would expect the expression path to look something like "children child pets pet name"

  • Accettend letter and other graphic simbols PHP->JS

    - by Kreker
I have to read a txt via file php. This file contains some normal so may contains this kind of symbols : € é ò à ° % etc I read the content in php with file_get_contents and transform these for inserenting in SQL database. $contFile = file_get_contents($pathFile); $testoCommento = htmlspecialchars($contFile,ENT_QUOTES); $testoCommento = addslashes($testoCommento); Now if I have this text for example : "l'attesa ?é cruciale fino a quando il topo non viene morso dall'?€" in the database I have this: l&#039;attesa è cruciale fino a quando il topo non veniene morso dall&#039;€ When I was GETTING the data from the database I use the php function for decode html entites $descrizione = htmlspecialchars_decode($risultato['descrizione'],ENT_QUOTES); $descrizione = addslashes($descrizione); Now I use jasvascript and AJAX for getting the table content and display to an HTML page In the browser instead of getting the correct text (€,è) I have square symbol. I think there is some mess with charset code/decode but never figured out. The SQL' table is in "utf8_unicode_ci" format and the column in "utf8_general_ci". The content-type of the page is <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> Thanks for help me!

  • Passing a web service an unknown number of parameters

    - by Billyhole
I'm relatively new to utilizing web services. I'm trying to create one that will be accepting data from a ASP.Net form whose input controls are created dynamically at runtime and I don't how many control values will be getting passed. I'm thinking I'll be using jQuery's serialize() on the form to get the data, but what do I have the web service accept for a parameter? I thought maybe I could use serializeArray(), but still I don't know what type of variable to accept for the JavaScript array. Finally, I was thinking that I might need to create a simple data transfer object with the data before sending it along to the web service. I just didn't wanna go through with the DTO route if there was a much simpler way or an established best practice that I should follow. Thanks in advance for any direction you can provide and let me know I wasn't clear enough, or if you have any questions.

  • Best logging framework for native C++?

    - by Jox
I'm looking for logging framework for C++ project. My best shoot was log4cxx, but it seems that it's abandoned project, with development stopped ~4 years ago, with only one update in last 4-5 years. Anything better that log4cxx? (log4c & log4cpp are also totally out-of-date)...

  • Characters with jquery json

    - by Mikk
Hi everyone, I'm using jquery $.getJSON to retrieve list of cities. Everything works fine, but I'm from Estonia (probably most of you don't know much about this country =D) and we are using some characters like õ, ü. ä, ö. When I pass letters like this to callback function, I keep getting empty strings. I've tried to base64 encode(server-side)-decode(jquery base64 plugin) strings (i thought it was a good idea as long as I can compress pages with php, so I don't have to worry about bandwidth), but in this way I end up with some random chinese symbols. What would be the best workaround for this problem. Thank you.

  • Creating a virtual, data-driven section of a Wordpress-powered site

    - by lgomez
Hello all, I want to create a plugin for wordpress to automatically serve pages containing data pulled from a provider's API. The API returns one or more records containing data for that record and I simply want to have the plugin intercept the request, call the API with parameters pulled from the request URI and display the data using a template that I can either let them upload to the server or let them copy and paste into the plugins admin settings. For example, I may want one of my wordpress installations to show products pulled from such an API under the url "example.com/products". The plugin would catch that request, extract the variables from the URL, call the API and render the template with the returned results. I'd like to avoid requiring editing the .htaccess file like some caching plugins do. Some of the admins of these pages won't know how to do that or simply won't have access to the .htaccess file. Thanks!

  • Considering ATK Framework

    - by kevtrout
Has anybody used the ATK Framework? It is claimed to be geared toward developing apps for business use. Manipulating data, knowledge bases, etc... This is what I primarily develop (on the side-for my own use). The site hasn't given me a great overview of why it may be better than other frameworks. What are your thoughts / experiences with this product?

  • Read and Step into .Net Framework Source Code

    - by ChloeRadshaw
I did ask whether this was possible in 2008 which was answered in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1296840/read-and-step-into-net-framework-source-code. However my problem is that I am using 2005 and not 2008. Does anyone know whether this is possible please?? The reason I want to do this is to better understand C# paradigms. With Java this is possible and I learnt a tremendous amount by being able to read code written by engineers
