• How to run a program on a specific remote computer

  Hi, I have got this working line of code I would like to run via VBScript a share program on a remote computer in a domain environment. The first part is ok where it is asking me to enter a computer name, but the problem is in the second part. I don't know how to run the program on the remote computer that I've entered in the first part. computer = inputbox ("What computer do you wish to check?   I have a console application written in c++. It simply reads an integer from standard input(keyboard) and writes another integer to standard output(screen). Now I want to give some tests to that program and check its answers using another program. In another words, I want to write electron judge for that program. I want that program(which I want to test) to read from file and write to file without changing source code. How can I do that. • Identifying idle state on a windows machine

  I know about the GetLastInputInfo method but that would only give me the duration since last user input - keyboard or mouse. If a user input was last received 10 minutes ago, that wouldn't mean the system has been idle for 10 minutes - scans, downloads, movies - lots of reasons. So how can we identify whether the system is truly idle or not? Does anyone know what Window's definition of "idle" is? Must be a combination of thresholds - like less than 5% cpu util, less than 3% disk util etc. - along with the user input parameter...anyone knows the exact definition?

• Resources/Teaching ideas to teach computers to kids

  A small initiative from my work place plans to teach very basic computers to not so fortunate kids. I was looking for some very basic topics/resources. These kids are very young and have not seen/worked with a computer before. The fun factor should not be lost and hence I don't want it to be rigorous, just plain, what is computer, keyboard, mouse, browser, where to look for what (google.com) and so on. Has any-one done this sort of thing before, if yes, could you point me to some resources.

• Can tapping next textfield trigger same behavior as "Done" key?

  I've got two textfields in a row for username and password. When you're finished putting in your username, the most natural thing to do is to just tap on the next textfield, like you would with a web form. But that doesn't work -- you can't edit the next field until you press "Done" on the keyboard for the first field and then tap on the second one. My question is: is it possible to set up two textfields so that you end editing on the first one and begin editing the second when you tap the second field?

I have a problem now and these are the steps reproduce the error 1) Do Focus on Input Name 2) Press Tab 3) If you hover and then do click with the mouse in any of the select options, they can not be selected with the mouse click This is the only error, it works perfectly if you move the arrows up and down and then you press the enter o tab, i want to to be able to select the option also with the mouse click after i do the focus with the tab button in the customized select Technically the problem is that the hover with the keyboards up and down is different when i hover with the mouse in the select-options. • Scanning FedEx labels into a visual basic program

  I have a program that has tracking numbers entered into it and it stores them in a database and i would like to add a scanner to the mix. The scanner is acting like a keyboard and scannes just fine, the problem is scanning a FedEx number gives a 32 digit number and i am only iterested in the tracking number portion of it. I saw an example on the web for an excel macro and tried to modify it but it doesnt seem to work. Is there something i could do to just get the 12 digit number? This is what it looks like so far. • SVG Animation in Python? - Any options other than Things! 0.4?

  I recently gave my daughter some time on the computer, and she really likes a program called 'BabySmash!', and I also have another program that came with a keyboard attachment called 'Laugh, Smile & Learn' from playschool I think. I'm not a python guru by any stretch of the imagination and I kind of have it in my head that I want to create some sort of program in the spirit of these two, with vector animation and sounds. Thing is, it doesn't look like there are many options for vector animation in python. I found a library called Things! 0.4, but it's lacking in-depth documentation and seems to be more of an experiment in vector animation rather than a full blown solution. Are there any options that I'm not immediately finding? What other animation-libraries do you recommend? Even if the library isn't vector-based, ease of use is probably the strongest factor in my use.

But what in my specific title can be all characters from keyboard, even : @#%:"{/\';. Are some contraindications to don't use this characters in URL?   I want to write games that run on all the major platforms. I also want people to be able to play them by downloading a file and double clicking it. That means a single .exe/.app file. I'm happy to use OpenGL directly for graphics. What I don't know how to do is show a window, handle mouse/keyboard input and play sounds in a cross-platform manner. I don't really mind what the underlying language is, as long as it isn't C++ or Java. C#, Ruby or Python would be preferable, in that order :) Please, SO, save me from having to write Flash games!

  I am displaying some HTML text in an Adobe AIR Application that I do not want the user to be able to cut and paste. How do I make the HTML control disallow highlighting of the HTML without disabling the ScrollBars. mouseChildren=false works but disables the scrollbars which is unacceptable. Right now I have: <mx:HTML location="http://dexter/preview.html" width="100%" height="100%" id="PreviewArea" x="0" y="0" tabEnabled="false" tabChildren="false" focusEnabled="false" focusRect="null"/> But it's not working properly either. I have also tried overlaying a disabled transparent text control over the top of the HTML component, but the user is still able to tab to the HTML and use the keyboard controls to copy the text to the clipboard. Any hints?

• How HID devices work when programming?

  I have a barcode scanner works as HID device. Everytime a barcode scans it goes directly to windows keyboard, for example if I open notepad I can see the barcode typed there. As far as I know programmatically is it possible to to read HID data from your HID devices. But what happens if the user is already on a form with a text edit control? The scanned code will go inside the text box. Can you block incoming text and make a background-only processing? Can you explain the theory please?

  Does anyone know of a cheap Android or programmable device that has wifi? I need it for a project for a company that needs a wifi handheld device for the shop floor. Im not too fussed about the language the device uses though Im not really interested in the iTouch as theres no intention to release the app in the app store and I don`t really want to jail break everybodys iTouch. Ideally it would be small , iTouch size for example and relatively cheap $100 or less. Nothing fancy just ability to write a simple UI and have wifi. Voice is not needed. Not too fussed about touch or qwerty keyboard either.

• How to disable Eclipse's behavior of maximizing editor when double clicking a tab?

  I recently updated my Eclipse (now running 20100218-1602), and I've found whenever I click around quickly between tabs on the tab bar, it will sometimes maximize the editor and hide the PHP Explorer to the left. After researching a little, this appears to be a feature of double clicking a tab. So I guess it's my fault, I'm sure I'm clicking around too fast and mistakenly double clicking a tab, but it happens often enough on what I'd consider a normal editing session that I've come to absolutely loathe it, and even after the usual googling due diligence cannot figure out how to turn it off. From this post (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/594659/eclipses-tab-double-click-on-visual-studio) someone mentions the Window.AutoHideAll shortcut, however that seems to only be for assigning keyboard shortcuts--this is a mouse click thing. But maybe it's a clue. I can't find anything relevant under Eclipse - Preferences - PHP. I don't think it's specific to PHP because if I switch to the Java perspective, double clicking a tab hides the Package Explorer. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

  A quick Google search for solutions to Focus Stealing in Windows reveals two main result categories: People suggesting incomplete solutions involving the ForegroundLockTimeout registry entry (or TweakUI, which I believe simply changes the aforementioned registry entry), which isn't very effective. Incessant hordes of Windows users complaining about it. It's particularly annoying in two common scenarios: Something triggers a program to popup a dialog window in the background while a fullscreen app is focused, causing the fullscreen app to minimize. A window steals focus while you are typing, stealing all of your keystrokes. If you happen to press Space, Enter, or trigger a keyboard shortcut (like Y for Yes), it can cause completely undesirable outcomes. What creative solutions can be applied to fix this problem for either or both of these scenarios?

  Hi, In Gtk application, there is 1 main loop which listens for events (e.g. mouse click, keyboard, etc). And when a modal dialog popup, the main loop is blocked until user clicks 'OK' in the dialog, right? (i.e. nothing will happen when user clicks on the main window). Is that correct? My question is how can firefox did its modal dialog so that it can: 1. when 1 have 2 Firefox windows 2. one of them has a modal dialog 3. other one is still interactive If both window shares the same gtk main loop, how is that possible? • Custom inputAccessoryView push my UITableView first row partially off the screen

  Hi For my scenario, I have a UITableView with a UITextField for the first row. While I try to set custom toolbar for keyboard with UITextField.inputAccessoryView, it pushed my first row of textfield partially off the screen. This is not happening if I avoid adding the toolbar. Refer screen shot below: I tried with NSNotification with keyboardWillShow by reposition to first row of the tableview, but it just look awkward for the table pulling out and in. It might be something to do overriding UITableView/UIScrollView, but I am out of idea how to do this. Would like to know how you guys resolve this. Thanks you!

  Hello! I'm writing a OSX PDF Workflow in ObjC and C. A single executable ("UNIX Tool" as named in the Apple reference), that reads in the spooled PDF file, does some parsing. I'd like to give more functionality by enabling a key-down event handling, meaning - when user opens print dialog in an application - and chooses to left-mouse-click on the custom made pdf workflow to run it - depending on if a keyboard key is down (i.e. option key, but "any key down" would be enough for me) when running that workflow - a decision is made in the code. I have read NSEvent and Carbon Event Manager reference and it seems that in this case (a plain unix executable + not run as root) it's not possible. Or is it? Many thanks in advance, Kroko

• Moving the table view and keep the toolbar visible?

  Hello, In my view I have a toolbar with a button at the top and a table view underneath, like in the following picture: An you can see there are text fields in the cells of the table view. The problem appears when I want to edit the tet fields which are in the bottom of the table view. As you can imagine the keyboard overlaps the text fields. Let say I want to edit the fields in the C section, the result is following: I tried different approaches for moving the table view, but I always end up with the toolbar being hidden. In one cae the toolbar was moving up with together with the table view, in the second case the table view overlaps the toolbar: All the ideas how to move the table view to make the cell being edited visible together with having the toolbar visible? How to move/resize the table view? Thanks!

• CDateTimeCtrl - preventing 'focus' change when setting date

  I'd like to use a CDateTimeCtrl to allow the user to select a non-weekend date. So, if the user increments the day (via a keypress) - and the resulting day is found to fall on a weekend - then the control should skip forward to the following Monday (don't let issues about month changes distract you, it's not relevant). Usually it's not a problem: when I handle the DTN_DATETIMECHANGE notification I can check the new date/time and if it's found to be a weekend then I can call SetTime on the control to update the date. However, if I set the style to DTS_SHOWNONE, this call to SetTime causes the control to shift the input 'focus' (term used loosely) to the 'none' checkbox, e.g. away from the day field. This prevents the user from using keyboard input to continue incrementing the date unless they subsequently use the right arrow key to reset the 'focus', which is just nasty. I would dearly like to prevent this focus shift from occurring. Is it even possible?
