  • What is a better way to convert a simple sinatra app to static html pages?

    A friend of mine asked to create a static website and I found that making such site using Sinatra is a pure joy. I just wrote all my routes like this: get '/index.html' do haml :index end get '/app.css' do sass :app end .... So I was able to use layouts, and haml and sass to put site together quickly. To create the static site I used wget -r -l2 http://localhost:4567 Which did work pretty well, but I imagine there is a better way to create a static site from a Sinatra code?

    I am looking at a practice test that doesn't have explanations about the correct answers. The question I'm confused about basically asks why the following SQL statement can never work: SELECT oi.order_id, product_jd, order_date FROM order_items oi JOIN orders o USING(order_id); The answer it gave was: "The statement would not execute because the column part of the USING clause cannot have a qualifier in the SELECT list" Can someone elaborate on this? I am pretty stumped.

    Title pretty much says it. I want to store a C#.NET ulong into a T-SQL database. I don't see any provisions for doing this, as the SQL bigint has the same Min/Max values as a normal long. Is there any way I can do this? Or is catching an OverflowException my only hope?

    I need to create some pretty big tables in SQL server 2008, while I do have SQL Server Manager Studio, I would like to comment the tables and the columns when I create the table. How do I do this? Example of the query I am running: CREATE TABLE cert_Certifications ( certificationID int PRIMARY KEY IDENTITY, profileID int, cprAdultExp datetime null ) I've tried COMMENT'Expiration Date for the Adult CPR' and COMMENT='Expiration Date for the Adult CPR' after the data type, and SQL server is giving me an error.

  • Why does clicking on Windows 7 Printer Properties Result In Driver Not Installed?

    The question I need to ask is has anyone heard of getting a "driver not installed" error when clicking on a printer's properties on Windows 7, and is there a workaround? Here are the details of the problem. One of our users has a Windows 7 desktop, and an HP LaserJet 4050 T connected to via a parallel-to-usb converter. The PLC5 universal driver was installed for series 4050 printers. I needed to install the PLC 6 driver, which completed successfully. The user is an administrator of the system, and I was prompted to and accepted running as Administrator to install the driver. After the install, I went to see the 4050's properties and was prompted that the PLC6 driver was not installed. I believe the PLC6 driver was installed, because the PLC5 driver resulted in receiving an official HP error page indicating the printer was "not set up for collating" as the second page of printing two copies of a one page email. This problem did not occur with the PLC 6 driver. Oddly enough, setting back to PLC5 produced the same error about the PLC5 driver not being installed. I ignored/dismissed the error box (did not re-install the driver), and reproduced the error, with the second page being the HP not set up for collating error page. Any thoughts on what is causing this and how to clear it would be appreciated. The closest fix I could find was on a Microsoft tech page, and they had me clear winsock out of a Administrator run command line, followed by a reboot. That did not fix the problem.   • Ubuntu 10.04->10.10 in failed state - how to recover?

    I was running Ubuntu 10.04 and attempted to upgrade to 10.10. I have a really slow connection (DSL 128kbits/sec) and copying the upgrade files took about 26 hours. I of course let it run unattended. When I came back, I notice the following 3 dlgs: (1) "Could not install the upgrades The upgrade has aborted. Your system could be in an unusable state. A recovery will run now (dpkg -- configure -a)." (2) "gpk-update-icon Distribution upgrades available maverick 10.10 (stable) [more information] [Do no show this again] [Cancel] [Ok]" (3) "gpk-update-icon Security updates available The following important updates are available for your computer: libwebkit-1.0-2-dbg - Web content engine library for Gtk+ - Debugging symbols libcupsimage2 - Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - Raster image library ..." What is the best response to all of this? I went through something similar in an attempted network upgrade from 8.04 to 10.04 and had to reload the unbootable machine fresh from distribution media (all data was lost). I'd like to avoid that here. I have not yet responded to the dialogs, and want to make sure the system is still bootable and not lose my data this time.

    Hey guys, im pretty new to android platform and have a really simple question. Im putting buttons as layouts with text boxes, but im running out of room. How would i make it possible for the user to scroll down to view more buttons and stuff.     Hello, This seems like a pretty simple question but haven't found an answer anywhere: How do I make an app that doesn't ask for permission when you load it? Or is that impossible.     Hi, I'm making a game where when a card is touched, it grows so that it is focused, and when you 'let go', it goes back to its original size and place. This seems pretty standard, however, when I add cards and move the hand around to accommodate different numbers of cards, touching the card makes it go to its original place, and not to the new place. This has been stumping me for a while now Any hints would be much appreciated. Thanks !

  • Remove stateful EJB bean in client

    I'm currently learning EJB and as I understand when client gets a stateful session bean the server keeps it in memory(or passivates it) until the client removes the bean. Pretty simple, except nowhere I have seen any examples of how the client can actually remove the bean. How do you do that other than shutting down your client application? Or do I just have to implement a reset method in all my stateful beans if I want to start over?

  • How do I prevent my ASP .NET site from continually prompting for user credentials?

    I'm trying to get an ASP .NET website up and running on IIS6. The site will run in its own application pool, and uses Windows authentication, with anonymous access turned off. When I run the app pool under NETWORK SERVICE, everything works fine. However we need the app pool to run under a different account, because this account needs some extra privileges (we are printing Word documents). This new account is a member of the local users group, and the IIS_WPG group. It has also been granted the "Log on as a service right". When I browse to the site I am prompted for credentials, not once, but several times. When the page finally loads it looks wrong because the style sheets have not been applied. My suspicion is that I am being prompted once for each file (e.g. all the images, styles and script files) the browser requests, and that for some reason the website is unable to validate those credentials in order to serve the files back. If I allow anonymous access the page loads fine - we don't want to allow it but I mention it in case it offers any further clues. My theory is that perhaps the account the app pool runs under needs permissions to validate domain credentials? If that is so, how do I enable this?
