  I'm pulling a list of data from two or more excel file into one with some specific condition. For Eg: File1 Date Project ID Engineer 8/2/2008 XYZ T0908-5555 JS 9/4/2008 ABC T0908-6666 DF 9/5/2008 ZZZ T0908-7777 TS 9/4/2008 ABC T0908-1111 DF 9/5/2008 POR T0908-7777 MS 9/4/2008 ABC T0908-2222 DD File 2 Date Project ID Engineer 8/2/2008 ABC T1908-5555 JS 9/4/2008 XYZ T1908-6666 DF 9/5/2008 ABC T1908-7777 TS 9/4/2008 ZZZ T1908-1111 DF 9/5/2008 POR T1908-7777 MS 9/4/2008 ABC T1908-2222 DD I want Data from both file1 and file2 in a new excel with only those rows whose Project ID= "ABC".   I've this piece of HTML: div.content div.one content div.two content div.three content I want to add two divs on top and bottom and wrap one div around it so it becomes: div.top div.wrapper div.content div.one content div.two content div.three content div.bottom I'm aware of the several wrap selectors (innerWrap, wrapAll etc..) but I'm not sure how to wrap 2 divs. The following jQuery might work, but is there a better way to write it? $('content').wrap('<div class="wrapper"></div'); $('.wrapper').before('<div class="top"></div>'); $('.wrapper').after('<div class="bottom"></div>');

• Too Few Arguments

  I am trying to get some Javascript working in my Rails app. I want to have my index page allow me to edit individual items on the index page, and then reload the index page upon edit. My index.html.erb page looks like: <div id="index"> <%= render 'index' %> </div> In my index.js.erb I have: $('#index').html("<%=j render 'index' %>"); and in my holders_controller: def edit holder = Holder.find(params[:id]) end def update @holder = Holder.find(params[:id]) if @holder.update_attributes(params[:holder]) format.html { redirect_to holders_path } #, flash[:success] = "holder updated") ## ^---Line 28 in error format.js else render 'edit' end end When I load the index page it is fine. As soon as click the edit button and it submits the form, I get the following: But if I go back and refresh the index page, the edits are saved. What am I doing wrong?

• Same Activity called twice... Issue with Multiple AsyncTasks?

  I have three simultaneous instances of an AsyncTask for download three files. When two particular ones finish, at the end of onPostExecute() I check a flag set by each, and if both are true, I call startActivity() for the next Activity. I am currently seeing the activity called twice, or something that resembles this type of behavior. Since the screen does that 'swipe left' kind of transition to the next activity, it sometimes does it twice (and when I hit back, it goes back to the same activity). It's obvious two versions of the activity that SHOULD only get called once are being put on the Activity stack. Could this be from both onPostExecute()s executing simultaneously and both checking the flags each other set at the exact same time? This seems extremely unlikely since two processes would have to be running line-by-line in parallel... *EDIT* A lot removed from this question since I was way off in what I thought was wrong. Nonetheless I found the answer here quite useful, so I have edited the question to reflect the useful parts.

• Codeigniter Template library, add_js() method

  using This Template Library when i try and use the add_js() function it errors out. I add the regions $_scripts to the template header file but when i load the page it says undefined variable _scripts. any thoughts? changed <?= $_scripts ?> to <?= (isset($_scripts)) ? $_scripts : “”; ?> and obviously i lose the error but the js file still isnt loading. I did an echo at each step though the add_js() method and the output is correct. I also did an output of $this-js and they both had the corret output. So it gets through the get_js method fine and sets the class variable fine but i dont get anything added to the actual page.

  So i have been searching the web for a javascript source for an Hmac-sha1 algorithm. I saw Crypto's but i cant seem to get it to work, mainly because it has no idea what crypto means. • Can run Javascript but not jQuery?

  I'm running into a strange problem - I tried running a basic function in JS and jQuery, and while the former worked, the latter didn't. JS - okay alert('Works'); jQuery - not okay $(document).ready({ alert('Works'); }); Here's some facts: My references to the jQuery library are correct (And pretty sure my Internet connection is steady :) I'm using a CDN - CloudFlare to be exact, but I've switched development mode on and Rocket Loader off - so all the code I've uploaded to the server is WYSIWYG (CloudFlare adds some stuff in the tags if you leave Rocket Loader on. I tried running the alert code in the head section, and elsewhere in the body tags, to no avail. What could have possibly gone wrong? My .htaccess is now: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|css|js|pl|txt)$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/admin/* RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [QSA] (based on Sombat's comment) And I want to make this, with it: for every elements but (jpg|jpeg|gif|png|css|js|pl|txt) if domain.xx/admin redirect to the domain.xx/admin directory and don't make a rewrite at all i mean: let me use domain.xx/admin/index.php?asd=1&asdd=2 else rewrite everything as rule one, to index.php. • Is it reasonable to start using Google Maps for Flash rather than Javascript version?

  I am planning to build a web application highly based on Google Maps API. I am considering either using the Javascript version, or the Flash version. I would like to create an interface which will be quite rich. Should I go for JS version of the API or Flash one? Also I do not plan to purchase the Flash, so ideally I would like to use some free Flex SDK that supports ActionScript. What would you recommend? Is it more reasonable to use JS or maybe better use the Flash Version. What are the limitations, pros and cons?

• How can I include utility functions from another file into a Sproutcore unit test file?

  Lets say I have a few utility functions in file tests/utils/functions.js. I would like to use these functions from several unit test files. However, I'm not able to use them as the Sproutcore build system does not include any external files into the html page used to run the unit tests. Only application code and the code from the unit tests to be run are included. So is it possible to somehow include Javascript files to be used in unit test files in Sproutcore? I could add the functions.js file into some other directory inside my application to be able to use them. However, this is not what I want to do as the utility functions are useless in final production build and would only make my application larger.

I'm working on a project now and as the JS (Mostly jQuery) libraries grow, it's getting more and more difficult to introduce change or refactor, because I have no way of guaranteeing the accuracy of the code without manually testing everything. I don't really know anything about JavaScript Testing Frameworks, or how they integrate/operate in a .Net project, so I thought I'd ask here. What would a good testing framework be for .Net? What does a JavaScript test look like? (e.g. with NUnit, I have [TestFixture] classes & [Test] methods in a ProjectTests assembly) How do I run a javascript test? • Catching "NullPointerExceptions" in JavaScript

  I'm writing quite a bit of code in Prototype.js which returns null if a DOM-id wasn't found. $("someId").show(); If someId doesn't exist, a method will be called on null, which halts the entire program, in effect disabling all JS effects after the error. I could just check for null before executing such a statement, but this is getting tiring. I would like to catch an exception but I'm not sure which one its is. MDC lists the following ECMA Script error types: * Error * EvalError * RangeError * ReferenceError * SyntaxError * TypeError * URIError * DOMException * EventException * RangeException Also, do browsers have a unified way of dealing with a method call on null?

  I have a general question about the design of JavaScript Libraries. I am trying to consolidate common methods into one js file so they can be reused by different scripts. I have taken a look at how the JSON library is structured and believe it was a good approach. JSON for Javascript. So they start off creating an instance of the class: if (!this.JSON) { this.JSON = {}; } Then they do this: (function () { if (typeof JSON.stringify !== 'function') { JSON.stringify = function (value, replacer, space) { This is works perfect if you just want to do JSON.[function_name], but what if I want to have a more structured library such that I want: JSON.[subgroup].[function]. How would I structure my JS library in such a way? Any links to resources are greatly appreciated, thanks.

• Inheritance vs specific types in Financial Modelling for cashflows

  Hello, I have to program some financial applications where I have to represent a schedule of flows. The flows can be of 3 types: - fee flow (just a lump payment at some date) - floating rate flow (the flow is dependant of an interest rate to be determined at a later date) - fixed rate flow (the flow is dependant of an interest rate determined when the deal is done) I need to keep the whole information and I need to represent a schedule of these flows. Originally I wanted to use inheritance and create three classes FeeFlow, FloatingFlow, FixedFlow all inheriting from ICashFlow and implement some method GetFlowType() returning an enum then I could dynamic_cast the object to the correct type. That would allow me to have only one vector to represent my schedule. What do you think of this design, should I rather use three vectors vector, vector and vector to avoid the dynamic casts ?

• How does the VS XAML designer know what to auto-populate certain values with?

  <Button Name="MyButton" Content="Test" FontStyle="Italic" /> In the above XAML definition of a button, the FontStyle property is set to Italic. The designer is somehow able to populate a list for me to choose from when I hit the = sign. How is this achieved? Before you answer, consider that the FontStyle property is, appropriately enough, of type FontStyle (which is a struct). It's not an enumeration, which would be trivial for VS to list out at design time, so how are the valid list of options chosen to be displayed? There is also a completely separate FontStyles class which contains three static fields, Italic, Normal, and Oblique which just so happen to be the three items VS provides in the drop down list. Is there some mapping going on behind the scenes between the FontStyle struct and FontStyles class, because I've looked in many places in both the object browser and in .NET Reflector and couldn't determine anything from either.   this is the query command echo from php web page: SELECT DISTINCT FT.file_type_name AS type,FT.file_type_en AS tp,FT.file_type_id AS fti, MATCH(keywords) AGAINST ('words <2' IN BOOLEAN MODE ) AS score FROM movie AS M,file_type AS FT WHERE MATCH (keywords) AGAINST ('words <2' IN BOOLEAN MODE ) AND M.type_cn = FT.file_type_id HAVING score >=1 ORDER BY FT.file_type_order; I am running above query in MySQL tools HeidiSQL and got only tow row records which score are 1.66666 and 2. If I remove the HAVING clause I would got three row records with one's score less than 1. But the same query I get from PHP mysqli_query() were all the three records and the one which score less than 1 became 1. What is the problem. Any tips will be pleasure. Thank you very much!!
