• Error setting up Blackberry Internet Service with Outlook Web Access

  I'm trying to set up Blackberry Internet Service to connect to our Windows SBS2003 outlook web access. I've tried every possible combination of credentials by I always get the same error: An error occured during email account validation. Please check your information and try again. If the error persists please contact your System Administrator. The fields are the following: Outlook Web Access URL: http://mail.domain.com/exchange (I've also tried just using the IP address http://000.000.000.000/exchange with no effect). User Name: JohnDoe (same as OWA login / domain username - I've also tried DOMAIN\JohnDoe) Email Address: [email protected] Mailbox Name: This one confused me a little bit, but it seems it should be the same as the domain username (eg. JohnDoe). I've also tried DOMAIN\JohnDoe, and a number of other things. No matter what I do, I get the same error message. At this point, I'm basically just trying things, because I don't really know how this service is supposed to work. Does anyone know what causes this particularly vague error message, and what I can change either in my email settings or on our exchange server to resolve this?

• Outlook 2013 too many devices synching with your account error

  When I add an outlook.com account I get this error: Error Code: 0x80004005 Too many devices synching with your account I definitely do not have multiple devices synching with this account... I searched online and it looks like this error has something to do with number of folders in the email. However, this is a fresh account. I only have the default folders in there. Any idea how to fix this?

• 500 Error when using custom account for application pool in IIS 7

  I have a very simple site with only static files in IIS 7 on Windows Server 2008 SP2. When I try to access any static file I get a 500 error. If I rename an html file to have an aspx extension it works fine. The site also works fine when using the built in identity for the application pool. The problem occurs when I switch to using a custom account for the application pool. I have tried using both local and domain accounts to run the application pool under. I have given full control to these accounts on the website directory and files. Turning on tracing reveals this error message: ModuleName: IIS Web Core Notification: 2 HttpStatus: 500 HttpReason: Internal Server Error HttpSubStatus: 0 ErrorCode: 2147943746 ConfigExceptionInfo Notification: AUTHENTICATE_REQUEST ErrorCode: Either a required impersonation level was not provided, or the provided impersonation level is invalid. (0x80070542) I have not had any luck with googling the error code.

• Disable "System Memory Testing" via OMSA 6.4.0

  Is it possible to disable system memory testing via OMSA 6.4.0? I can only find ways to do it using newer versions of OMSA; and I can't even see the setting in 6.4.0. I have quite a few machines that I want to disable this (BIOS) setting on, but I don't want to have to install the new OMSA and reboot. My intentions are to disable the setting so that when the systems are rebooted in the future, they don't need to go through the system memory testing. If it is possible to disable this another way, without OMSA or manually changing the BIOS settings, I would be open to that as well.

I'm on SecurityAdmin role and when I try to execute xp_readerrorlog I get a following error: Msg 229, Level 14, State 5, Procedure xp_readerrorlog, Line 1 The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'xp_readerrorlog', database 'mssqlsystemresource', schema 'sys'. What I'm missing? Can this role read error logs or not?

• Windows XP Pro SP3 stop error code 0x000000F4

  I have a system running Windows XP Pro SP3. My wife is the primary user of this system, and the last several days in a row, when she tries to log in to the system it gives her a BSOD with the stop error code 0x000000F4. The rest of the error codes change every time she tries to log on, but that one seems to stay constant. The error it gives me is: A process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated. The machine will also get stuck in a boot loop, where it keeps giving me the screen saying that windows did not start successfully, and to choose how to start windows. I have tried Safe Mode, Last known Good Config, and Normally, and all have resulted in either a return to the boot loop, or BSOD. What might this mean? How can I fix it, without doing a clean install?

• xp stop error 50 page fault in non paged area

  I have a laptop that fails to boot with the BSOD error: "page_fault_in_non_paged_area" STOP: 0x00000050 (0xEC6B738D, 0x00000000, 0x8649308C, 0x00000000) The laptop has 2 memory DIMMs. I removed each DIMM one at a time and the error remained with just one DIMM installed. I have run spinrite 6.0 on the hard drive no errors found. Booted to recovery mode and ran CHKDSK /R, it found and fixed errors but still gets the stop error. Any other suggestions to try?

• Why is systemd not setting my system time?

  I'm running Arch Linux. Recently, when I turn on my PC, the system time is set to 1:00 1 January 1970 - presumably the 1:00 o'clock is from the timezone shift. Does anyone have any ideas why systemd isn't setting my system time correctly? Some useful output (I think)...   How to properly create chroot jail (on Ubuntu, or some some other Linux if not applicable) to make user able to edit system settings (eg. with ifconfig) and be able to communicate with external scripts? The use case would be to enable user to authenticate using SSH and then be able to perform very limited set of actions from command line. Unfortunately the tricky part is the access to system settings. I have considered multiple options and the alternative is to setup fake SSH server (eg. with Twisted), try to use restricted shell (however, I seem to need chroot still), or write a script on top of the shell (?).

  I've got a problem here : I have a C++ Library ("DataTsBroad") and a C++ Test app ("DataTsBroadTest"), to test it. Actually, the Lib and the Test app are both compiled an a Debian Lenny. Now, i want to continue to compile my Test app on a Debian Lenny (customer constraint), but i would compile my lib on a Squeeze or a Wheezy to work on the last Debian releases. So, i successfully compiled my Lib on a Squeeze, But, after, when i try to compile my Test app with this Lib on the Lenny, it fails !   We have an IBM System i running IBM i OS v6r1. On this system, I have created some database views. What I want to do is give a particular user group access to ONLY these views and nothing else within the library in which the views reside. Is this possible? I had a user group that had read only permissions to all tables and views in the library in which my views are located, and access works when the user is under this usergroup. I tried copying the user group, and then assigning permissions to only include the views I have created, and access is denied. Does a user or usergroup also have to have permissions on the table from which the view originates in order to access the view?

  yesterday I did a repair install, because Windows froze on welcome screen after resizing its partition on a dual boot system. corresponding question Everything worked fine so far, but now I am facing another challenge: The Windows drive letter changed from G: to C:, so that most programs, including drivers, firewall and virus scanner do not work anymore. I tried to reinstall the virus scanner, but the uninstaller said, that drive G: is not available. What to do now, to get all programs running again? Is it possible, to rename C: to G: or will that mess up my system?

  I am looking into building a syslog / logging infrastructure and am pondering about some architecture best practices. Essentially, I see that a syslog system needs to support two conflicting workloads: log collection. Potentially massive streams of data need to be written quickly to disks and indexed. log querying. logs will be queried by both fixed fields such as date and source as well as text search. What is the best disk/system setup assuming I'd like to keep it to a single server for now? Should I use SSDs or ramdisk to off-load some processing? some disks in stripe and some in raid5? I am particularly eyeing Graylog2 with ElasticSearch/MongoDB

  First of all after much pain i figured out how to make it work in Apache 2.4 windowz. Here is my configuration that seems to work successfully for git clone and push and everything. Problem First of all my configuration works. There is a "Require all denied" at / directory. I want only git functionality and nothing else. • syntax error: unknown user 'munin' in statoverride file

  Server running Ubuntu 12.04 lts I installed munin the other day on a server. I decided later to remove it with apt-get. I noticed that not everything was removed from the installation so manually removed the munin web directory and also removed the munin user-name and group from the sever. However I have just now tried to run apt-get upgrade which is now returning an error: dpkg: unrecoverable fatal error, aborting: syntax error: unknown user 'munin' in statoverride file E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2) I am now out of my depth.   Hi all, I have a friend with a Toshiba Satellite A200. He's running Vista HP SP2 32-bit. For some reason, when he attempts to uninstall Open Office or some other programs, a dialog box appears, which states, "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." After I click OK, another dialog box entitled "Installed Updates" says that "You do not have sufficient access to uninstall _. Please contact your system administrator." Any ideas?
