  When i request a page using browser / AJAX request i see lot of spaces and newlines which i think must be adding some overhead for retrieving the response as they too belong to characters means bytes and size. right ? Is there some way it can be removed while sending from the server ? how ? (I am using IIS and asp.net for development)

  Hello Im trying to make a chat program like skype in c# and having some trouble gavring/updating the messages, what i tryed was foreach value in a database add it into listbox1, and i did a timer every second do that.. but it kept adding it again every second repeating like it was on loop So then i sat down and thought how can i do this, so i come up with webclient download a list of messages by php and foreach line in the webclient add it to a listbox! is there any way of doing this?

  I'm looking at adding a user comment ticker to my iPhone/iPad polling app (Show of Hands). The comments would obviously need to be pulled from a central web source - either a database or perhaps even simple flat files.   Okay, so I've figured out how to get my external ip using wget: wget -q -O - http://whatismyip.com/automation/n09230945.asp that outputs the ip to the command console. adding currentip.txt to the end will write it to a text file. But what I want to do is use netsh interface ip set address name="Local Area Connection 2" source=static addr=[WHAT DO I PUT HERE] Also, a way to make the command prompt not flash would be nice too :)

  With the new ConcurrentBag<T> in .NET 4, how do you remove a certain, specific object from it when only TryTake() and TryPeek() are available? I'm thinking of using TryTake() and then just adding the resulting object back into the list if I don't want to remove it, but I feel like I might be missing something. Is this the correct way?

• Loading from pickled data causes database error with new saves

  In order to save time moving data I pickled some models and dumped them to file. I then reloaded them into another database using the same exact model. The save worked fine and the objects kept their old id which is what I wanted. However, when saving new objects I run into nextval errors. Not being very adept with postgres, I'm not sure how to fix this so I can keep old records with their existing ID while being able to continue adding new data. Thanks, Thomas
