    I'm wondering if anyone has insight into this... when releasing an update of an iPhone application, should I expect the approval process to take longer if I submit something that's declared as a major version update (as compared to a minor version)? Last time around (about the time the big Facebook-update was released) our wait time for a minor version review was 21 days (16 working days).

  • Scrolling dynamicly to the end of the page

    I have the following situation... I have an link which animates some div-s height when its hovered... but div has big height and it goes beyond the visible bottom end of the screen so i have to scroll to see the data and when i scroll I leave the hover area and so the div toggles it's height to 0px... how to make automatic scroll to the end of the div when it toggles...   • Background Activity for Map in Android started again if phone orientation is changed

    Hi, i've developed an android app that's fetches an xml file and displays this data via several markers on the map. This works fine so far. The problem right now is that when i switch the orientation of the phone (portrait-landscape or vice versa) the markers disappear for a small moment, the xml processing is started again and then they reappear. Is there a way to prevent this re-loading of the file? It only takes about 2-3 seconds..so no big deal, but still disturbing

I have an application which requires Flex to render statistics data calculated instantly on the client side from a downloaded data set. The problems are: the data set is large and needs more than 10 seconds to be downloaded. there are some filters to control the statistics calculation algorithms. If user changes the filters, it would take a long time to recalculate the result and freeze the UI.

    Given an admin media class that sets up a rich text editor, like: class TutorialAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): fields... class Media: js = ['/paths/to/tinymce.js',] I would like the ability to selectively override js depending on a field value in the model it references. I've added a "use_editor" boolean to the Tutorial model. The question is, how can I detect whether the current instance has that bool set? I'd like to end up with something like: class Media: if self.use_editor: js = ['/path/to/tinymce.js',] else: js = '' Ideas? Thanks.

    Hi all, A Grails app I'm working on is becoming pretty big, and it would be good to refactor it into several modules, so that we don't have to redeploy the whole thing every time. In your opinion, what is the best practice to split a Grails app in several modules?   • How can I copy from the browser and paste to vim without unicode problems

    This happens to me all the time: I copy something from a rich text screen (usually a browser) and then paste it into vim. Usually its a code block and then when I go to compile or run or what have you I get all kind of bazaar errors. I scratch my head, and then spend half an hour trying to figure out what is wrong before I realize I've copied some non ASCII characters: dashes, left and right quotes, long underscores, multiplication signs in place of x's, etc. So I ask you: how can I copy non-ASCII into my VIM session without error? Is there a paste mode that automatically 'down samples' unicode to ASCII? Is there a quick/dirty search for non ASCII characters in a file?

    So, I have this code: } else { $photograph_moderation = new PhotographModeration($this->photograph_id); $photograph_moderation->purgePhotograph(); //eventually take to an error page die('image is not big enough to upload'); } the purgePhotograph() function gets called properly when this condition is met, but the script never appears to die. Is there a reason why die wouldn't get called here? purgePhotograph() has no script killing commands either.
