• Uninstalling GRUB from MacBook Air

  So... I have a MacBook Air and I recently tried to install Ubuntu on my external HD. I booted Ubuntu from a flash drive and everything had gone fine. I turned off my computer and when I turned it on again I got a message of error and a "grub rescue" line to enter some code. I rebooted holding the "option" key and I selected the Mac partition and everything is fine with my system, but every time I start my system and I don't hold the "option" key, I get the same error and the grub rescue message. I just want things to go back to normal, as they were before I installed Ubuntu on my external HD (which, btw, presented a message that said there was no boot loader). What do I do?

  One of the areas where we fixed many bugs for Beta2 in our parallel debugging windows is with regards to managed dump debugging. So it was really cool to see Tess use the Parallel Stacks window in that scenario in her video demo with Scott.Other than the neat ability to open managed dumps in VS2010, Parallel Stacks was the only debugging feature she needed for diagnosing the issue!   i use a lenovo y560 and has ubunto 12.04 and win 7 installed when i boot into ubunto i find that the ati car is always on which drains the battery and overheats the system is there any to switch off the ati graphics and use intel hd in ubuntu ati hd 5730 is the graphics card that i use and it has switchable graphics in it. in bios the only two options for video adapter is discrete and switchable after installing ati driver from amd website i am getting a commamd prompt as log in screen first error message comes as Your system is running in low-graphics mode with options to run in low graphics mode this time reconfigure exit all three options i am stuck i need to manually reboot the system

Download the generic version of JDeveloper for installation on Mac. Note that there are workarounds required to install JDeveloper on a Mac. Download ADF Mobile Extension from JDeveloper Update Center or Here. Please note you will need to configure JDeveloper for Internet access (In HTTP Proxy preferences) in order the install the extension, as the installation process will prompt you for a license that's linked off Oracle's web site. View this end-to-end application creation video. View this end-to-end iOS deployment video if you are developing for iOS devices. Configure your development environment, including location of the SDK, etc in JDeveloper-Tools-Preferences-ADF Mobile dialog box.  The two videos above should cover some of these configuration steps.   I am asking exactly this question for the same reason, but would like to archive dvds as small, low quality video, while preserving the menu choosing experience. I would like to rip my dvds to something that has the same menus but whose video is in a much more compressed format. I do not want to copy a dvd to an .iso image. How can this be done in the most automatic (hopefully CLI) way possible? Any format is fine so long as playback on linux is possible.

  Hy Everyone! I have some graphics glich when enable gpu acc. in chrome. If i disable acceleraion it fix the glich but, in full HD most of flash videos frame rate drop above frogs a**, so very slow... :) Any idea, what can i do? I Upload 2 pics from glich. My hardware: CM Hyper TX 3 on AMD A5300 with HD 7480D 6 GB RAM I use official AMD driver from amd.com, Ubuntu 14.04(I upgraded from 12.04, in Ubuntu 12, same glitch with old drivers.) I reinstalld x.org completly and purge all config files, but this didnt resolve the problem. • Brightness control not working on HP Pavilion dm3t (Intel GMA 4500MHD)

  Hey all, I picked up an hp dm3t laptop with intel HD graphics and installed ubuntu 10.10 64 bit on it. It works great -- the only problem is that the brightness controls on the keyboard don't work. The brightness is always at full. When I try to adjust it down, the indicator graphic indicates that it's going down but the actual brightness doesn't change. Is there anything that I can try to make this work? I'd really appreciate any help. I asked this on superuser.com and someone commented that I should play around with the intel hd drivers. I'm a total noob -- how do I do that? What else can I try? I really don't want to go back to windows.

I am using TexturePacker to optimize the thing. I would like to ask if there are any rules-of-thumb, tricks, ideas etc. to adjust to in regards to size of content, quality and how you maintain high-quality HD-based graphics due to its size vs. the device memory sizes? Also, is it a good idea to only have one copy of the sprites and scale it using code?

• Ubuntu gets slower by the day

  Ive noticed that Ubuntu has been getting slower and slower to boot, launch programs, etc. I installed 12.04 about 4 months ago,now 12.10, running on a quad-core Q8300 Intel, 4GB Ram, and an 80GB WD IDE drive. For some reason (ever since 11.04), Ive noticed after installation, the speed is good. The longer I have the OS installed, every bootup gets slower and slower, launching programs get slower, frame rates change radically(onboard GF9400 gets anywhere from 60fps down to 12 in worst cases). I would think maybe the HD is the issue, however I installed 11.10 on a 160GB SATA, and the same thing occurred. Looking at system resources, I'm holding steady at 1GB memory usage (I have 4GB, but it's actually showing 3.6GB, dunno why), no swap usage, and using right around 4% on cpu currently. HD capacity is only 28% used. Has anyone else ran into this issue? I love Ubuntu to death, but using other distros other than Ubuntu, I dont have this problem.

  Não consegui, apesar de diversas tentativas, instalar nenhuma das versões: 12.04 LTS e 13.04. Cheguei a trocar de mouse,uma vez que o anterior não era reconhecido pelo sistema. Configuração: Motherboard Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 8 Gb de memória DDR-3 1 Hd Sata II Samsung de 80Gb, com Windows 7 Ultimate SP-1 1 Hd Sata II de 1Tb Samsung, como dispositivo de dados 1 Monitor 23" Phiips CL 234 1 Placa de Vídeo Gigayte NVidia GeForce GT-220 1 Placa Ethernet Realtek RTL 8139/810x 1 Mouse Microsoft (com software IntelliPoint 8.2) 1 Mouse Logitech M-100 (que usei para subsitutir o da Microsoft, SEM SUCESSO!!!) Na última tentativa, o instalador do ubuntu (tanto no 12.04 quanto no 13.04, PASMEM, não reconheceu o Win7 instalado...foi aí que 'JOGUEI A TOALHA"...! Apesar de minha simpatia pela liberdade e SO's livres e bons, dificuldades como esta desencorajam a transição/migração do usuário... É de se pensar sobre isto...!
