• How can i set isdigit() command as a variable?

  I'm new to python but I caught on to the basics pretty quick and decided to start trying to make a program while I'm still learning, since I learn best by actually doing things. So I'm making a program in python that will add polynomials and I need to see if a character from the parser is numeric im using the isdigit() command. Instead of having to type isdigit() all the time in my code such as n.isdigit(), I want to assign it to a variable t = 'isdigit()' and then type n.t. This doesn't work, so is there an alternative to not typing the whole command?

• How To Query Many-to-Many Table (one table's values becomes column headers)

  Given this table structure, I want to flatten out the many-to-many relationships and make the values in the Name field of one table into column headers and the quantities from the same table into column values. The current idea which will work is to put the values into a Dictionary (hashtable) and represent this data in code but im wondering if there is a SQL way to do this. I am also using Linq-to-SQL for data access so a Linq-to-SQL solution would be ideal. • Android use of an string array on another method

  Hi all. Im trying to make an activity that has a multiple choice dialog after you push a button. In there you select from a list of things. But these things are received from a web method before the dialog appears. So I create a string array after I receive them inside the onCreate to initialise it there with the correct size. But my dialog method then cant get the array because propably its out of its scope. My code looks like this @Override protected Dialog onCreateDialog(int id) //Here is where the array is loaded to the multiple select dialog etc @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) //Here is where i initialise the array and get its contents etc I cant initialise my array when the class starts because I dont know its size yet. This has to do something with the scopes of my variables and I am pretty confused

I see that I can add layers to the Map control, but is there a way to add a Raster image to a map control? • is it posible to upload directly to remote server using SFTP on ASP.net MVC

  Hi! I am currently develope something using asp.net MVC, im still quite not experience with it so please help me out. I have a form for user to upload Video. The current ideal concept to upload to remote server is to Upload it to to the current server, then use FTP to push it to a remote server. For me, this is not quite fast since you have to upload to current server (Time x1) and then the current server push to new server (Time x2) so it's double the time. So my idea is to make user upload it to the current server, and WHILE user is uploading, the current server add the file to DB and also send the file to the remote server at the same time using SFTP... is it posible and are there any security hole in this concept? • removing the single quote from a list of

  I need to append/format a url with a list of ids for an api call however, when i put the list at the end of the api https://api.twitter.com/1.1/users/lookup.json?user_id=%s'%a i just get an empty string as a response. i have tried turning the list into a string and removing the square brackets doing a = str(followers['ids'])[1:-1] but i still get the same problem. and im assuming that its being caused by the single quote at the start. i have tried removing the apostrophe from the string doing a.replace("'", "") and now i have run out of ideas thanks

  Hello everyone, This is what im working on: i have two lists, first one: collumn user and collumn project that the user is assigend to. second one (library): a list of all the projects I was wondering, how, by every row that is created in the first list (so adding a user and a project) it is possible to grant the user permissions on this project's reference in the second library (the projects library).   Hi, Im loading an entity 'Member' from its id in route data. [ListItemsForMembershipType(true)] public ActionResult Edit(Member someMember) {...} The attribute on the action loads the membership type list items for a dropdown box and sticks it in viewdata. This is fine for add forms, and search forms (it gets all active items) but I need the attribute to execute BASED ON THE VALUE someMember.MembershipTypeId, because its current value must always be present when loading the item (i.e. all active items, plus the one from the loaded record). So the question is, what is the standard pattern for this? How can my attribute accept the value or should I be loading the viewdata for the drop down in a controller supertype or during model binding or something else? It is in an attribute now because the code to set the viewdata would otherwise be duplicated in each usage in each action.

  I am currently trying to implement a jquery slider into a joomla website. I already implemented NoConflict(); so that it doesn't step into joomla. And it works, BUT for another reason wich I do not understand it enters another jquery file called jsloader.js of a plugin I use for picture gallery display. I suppose all the module jquery files get preloaded before the one im calling inside the template. it enters the function() in the jsloader.js instead of the one in my jquery file. Im kinda stuck with using a set with a pointer delegate. my code is as follows: void Graph::addNodes (NodeSet& nodes) { for (NodeSet::iterator pos = nodes.begin(); pos != nodes.end(); ++pos) { addNode(*pos); } } Here NodeSet is defined as: typedef std::set NodeSet; The above piece of code works perfectly on my windows machine, but when i run the same piece of code on a MAC, it gives me the following error: no matching function for call to 'Graph::addNode(const boost::shared_ptr&)' FYI, Node_ptr is of type: typedef boost::shared_ptr Node_ptr; can somebody plz tell me why this is happening?

  I got this class class CWebBrowser2 : public CWnd And i want to override OnClose What i have done so far is in the header file I added void OnClose(); and in the .cpp file i added void CWebBrowser2::OnClose () { int i=0; i++; } But the OnClose is never called. Then I tried to to modify the header file to afx_msg void OnClose(); DECLARE_MESSAGE_MAP() And added this to the .cpp file BEGIN_MESSAGE_MAP(CWebBrowser2, CWnd) //{{AFX_MSG_MAP(CBrowserDlg) ON_WM_CLOSE() //}}AFX_MSG_MAP END_MESSAGE_MAP() But still OnClose is never called. I have tried to Change to OnClose to OnDestroy but that isnt called either. any ideas on what Im doing wrong?

  Hi, Is there a way to rollback to a specific starting point. Im looking for something like this. Start specific_point; Now after this, an other application connected with the SAME login will insert & delete datas (webservices with crud operations) for about 2 minutes doing tests. Each webservice call is declared as a transaction with Spring Ws. After that i want to rollback to the specific_point to have a clean database to a known previous state. I was thinking that ROLLBACK TO SAVEPOINT foo; was the solution but not unfortunately? Any idea ? Configuration: PostgreSQL 8.4 / windows XP Regards

  Hello all! I am new to web services and i have a question: Should a web service be able to access the client database? Sorry if i am not using the proper terms. Lets say i have a web service method called : GetCarDetails(string name) which will actually return details from car table. in this method i have an sql statement like SELECT * FROM car WHERE name = ?. In the client application, i have a textbox where i can input a name and a button on which when i click, fill a gridview. So im kinda confused, should the web service normally know that the client has a table called car?Please correct me if ive used the wrong terms. Thanks

• Rewriting .each() loop as for loop to optimize, how to replicate $(this).attr()

  I running into some performance issues with a jquery script i wrote when running in ie so I'm going through it trying to optimize any way possible. Apparently using for loops is way faster than using the jQuery .each method. This has led me to a question regarding the equivalent of $(this) inside a for loop. I'm simplifying what I'm doing in my loop down to just using an attr() function as it gets across my main underlying question. Im doing this with each(simplified) var existing = $('#existing'); existing.each(function(){ console.log($(this).attr('id')); }); And I've tried rewriting it as a for loop as such: var existing = $('#existing'); for(var i = 0;i < existing.length;i++) { console.log(existing[i].attr('id')); } Its throwing an error saying: Uncaught TypeError: Object #<HTMLDivElement> has no method 'attr' Thanks.

  Hello - I am currently starting to create an app for a small charity company. But Im not entirely sure how to properly learn how to code for the Android OS. I have searched online for tutorials but most stop at the same stage and only show you how to launch the "helloWorld" app. My question is this: 1) Will using solely XML be sufficient to code an app? Does it require working in partnership with java? 2) Does anyone know of any books, recommended books of course, that break everything down for you step-by-step? Cheers

  hey guys, what's the best way to do that: i have a list <ul> <li>hello</li> <li>good bye</li> <li>arrivederci</li> <li class="selected">dude</li> <li>whatever</li> </ul> Initially one item already has a class of .selected applied. When i hover over one of the list-items i want this one to have the .selected class. So every item should only have the class applied when im over, as soon as i leave the item the class get's removed and the next one has the class.
