  • MainMenu with Images (WinForms, C#)

    Hi All I have a MainMenu in my app and I would like to have little icons relevant to the Item in each menu. But the MainMenu control does not support this. I would use the MenuStrip control, though that is a pretty ugly option in my opinion. Does anybody have any suggestions? Are there any free/open source alt's out there, or would it be easy/possible to implement that feature into the existing MainMenu control? Thanks

    Hi all, I seem to be having trouble reading preferences from my AppWidgetProvider class. My code works in an Activity, but it does not in an AppWidgetProvider. Here is the code I am using to read back a boolean: SharedPreferences settings = getSharedPreferences(PREFS_NAME, 0); boolean autoreplyon = settings.getBoolean("autoreplyon", false); However, I get the "The method getSharedPreferences(String, int) is undefined for the type widget" error (widget is the name of my AppWidgetProvider class). A little visual indicator should indicate if a field is associated with a comment, and on clicking on the element should open or trigger an action for displaying that particular comment.     I have a Php script I want to use for creating a new blog in WPMU. I am having trouble calling wordpress functions like "wpmu_create_user" and "wpmu_create_blog". My hope is to get this script running as a cron job from command line and pick up new blog creation requests from an external db, create a new blog using the wordpress functions and update the db with new blog info.   • Bug in XCode debugger?

    I am working on an iPhone app which is using an external library for which I have the source. During debugging some of the objects are listed as 0x0 in the debugger but the app runs fine. Also, some of the objects addresses point to the wrong thing. These symbols are in the external library. The addresses are fine if I am tracing through a file actually in the external library. Does anyone have suggestions how to stop this behavior?

    If I wanted to learn about pattern recognition in general what would be a good place to start (recommend a book)? Also, does anybody have any experience/knowledge on how to go about applying these algorithms to find abstraction patterns in programs? (repeated code, chunks of code that do the same thing, but in slightly different ways, etc.) Thanks Edit: I don't mind mathematically intensive books. In fact, that would be a good thing.

I use the full width (1000px) of a div as a limiter, and a script that automatically sets the font of the h1-element so that it fits the width of the div without line break.   • Getting an 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine error when I tried hosting on Azure Servers

    I am hosting a web application which uses OLEDB 12 to read an Excel file, but getting the error "'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine". Wonder if I should use lower version of OLEDB or Azure does not support OLEDB services at all. Before rewriting the program, just wanted to see if anyone knows a better alternative. I am using Visual Studio 2010 for my development. Thanks in Advance.

    I have a string 12012009 input by the user in ASP.NET MVC application. I wanted to convert this to a DateTime. But if I do DateTime.TryParse("12012009", out outDateTime); it returns a false. So I tried to convert 12012009 to 12/01/2009 and then do DateTime.TryParse("12/01/2009", out outDateTime); which will work But I don't find any straight forward method to convert string 12012009 to string "12/01/2009". Any ideas?

    I am looking for suggestions on the easiest to set up and use AJAX Autocomplete plugin that will use JSON key/value pairs. I want a plugin that supports setting the form value to the key of the name selected. I have been working with jQuery UI Autocomplete, but it is a total pain in the rear to get this working. Does anyone know of anything that actually supports this out of the box, or have a thread or page where this is already detailed?
