• Assembly - Read next sector of a virtual disk

  As any programmer in the world at least once in his/her life, I am trying to create my "revolutionary", the new and only one operating system. :D Well, I am using a virtual emulator (Oracle VM Virtual Box), for which I create a new unknwon operating system, with a vmdk disk. I like vmdk because they are just plain files, so I can paste my boot-loader over the first 512 bytes of the virtual hard disk. Now, I am trying to read the next sector of this virtual disk, on which I would paste a simple kernel that would display a message. I have two questions: Am I reading the second segment (the first -512 bytes- is occupied by the bootloader) correctly? However, if I use INT 13, 1 to get last status message, AL is 0 - so no error is saved. Am I pasting my simple kernel in the correct place inside the vmdk? What I do is pasting it after the 512th byte of the file, the first 512 bytes, as I said, are the boot-loader. I want to query the database and return a list of the years that photos were taken, and the quantity of photos that were taken in that year. • Urgent Problem: Production site is breaking because of cached routes

  Hi folks, i have an urgent problem. Essentially, my routing works on my localhost. But when i deployed this to production, the routes does not seem to work correctly. For example, given a new route "/invites" - sometimes i will get a 404, and sometimes it will work correctly. I suspect there is some caching going on somewhere, but i am not sure. Can someone help? Find the repeated integer in O(n) time and constant space. There is no range for the value of integers or the value of N For example given an array of 6 integers as 23 45 67 87 23 47. The answer is 23 (I hope this covers ambiguous and vague part) I searched on the net but was unable to find any such question in which range of integers was not fixed. Also here is an example that answers a similar question to mine but here he created a hash table with the highest integer value in C++.But the cpp does not allow such to create an array with 2^64 element(on a 64-bit computer).

  From within the setup_app function (websetup.py) of a pylons i18n application, which is making use of a db, I was trying to initiate multilingual content to be inserted into the db. Anyone has tried some trick on a similar story ?

If I have this number $number = 600851475143; Then I modulus it: $primes = array( 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97); foreach($primes as $key=>$value) { if($number % $value == 0 ) {echo $value; break; } } Why is it that $value = 3? If $value = 3, that means that 600851475143 / 3 should be an integer, but its not. So I do not understand why that if() evaluates to true?

• Nested for loop error with !null checking an element that doesn't exist

  I am currently using nested for loops in a 2D array of size 4,2. When I run my program, I get index out of bounds Exception on the following line else if (state[i][j+1] != null && state[i][j].getFlash() <= state[i][j].getCycleLength() && state[i][j+1].getCycleLength() == state[i][j].getCycleLength()){ } It says the index out of bounds is 2. I would understand the error if I wasn't checking to see if [i][j+1] wasn't null, but I don't understand the exception with the check? I tried moving around the !null check but the program still fails on this line. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   I am implementing a billing system for a client. I wrote this XML query to grab all the Item Service Codes from the company file: <?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"utf-8\"?><?qbxml version=\"2.0\"?><QBXML><QBXMLMsgsRq onError=\"continueOnError\"><ItemServiceQueryRq requestID=\"81\"></ItemServiceQueryRq></QBXMLMsgsRq></QBXML> For the life of me I can't get QB web connector to return all of the service codes. The company file has about 500 service codes but it only returns 67. Does anyone have any idea on why this would happen? The QB web connector application log doesn't provide any hints either.

I need to get entries that already exist so that they can be placed in the work of the day. • Sum up values in SQL once all values are available

  I have events flowing into a MySQL database and I need to group and sum the events to transactions and store away into another table. The data looks like: +----+---------+------+-------+ | id | transid | code | value | +----+---------+------+-------+ | 1 | 1 | b | 12 | | 2 | 1 | i | 23 | | 3 | 2 | b | 34 | | 4 | 1 | e | 45 | | 5 | 3 | b | 56 | | 6 | 2 | i | 67 | | 7 | 2 | e | 78 | | 8 | 3 | i | 89 | | 9 | 3 | i | 90 | +----+---------+------+-------+ The events arrive in batches and I would like to create the transaction by summing up the values for each transid, like: select transid, sum(value) from eventtable group by transid; but only after all the events for that transid have arrived. That is determined by the event with the code e (b for the beginning, e for the end and i for varying amount of intermediates). Being a novice in SQL, how could I implement the requirement for the existance of the end code before the summing?
