• Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center Needed for Keyboard but Doesn't Support Mouse

  I recently built a new computer (running Win7 Pro 64-bit) that includes the Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Keyboard. To make use of all the extra features of this keyboard I need the Mouse and Keyboard Center. I just ran Windows Update for the first time on this system and the Mouse and Keyboard Center was included in the update. I'm left-handed and before the update I had the mouse set up for lefty use. Now after the update, it's been set to righty use and the original mouse control panel applet no longer allows the assignment of buttons. For that there's a link to the Mouse and Keyboard Center which does not support my oldish mice. (I have an IntelliMouse Optical and a Creative Mouse Lite Pro.) So I need the new utility for my keyboard, but I have to be right-handed to use my mouse? Really! I tried changing HKCU\Control Panel\Mouse\SwapMouseButtons to 1, but a reboot set it back to 0. Is there some way I can change my mouse back to left-handed? Thanx -eljay

  Riddle me this: You have 3 part numbers with the same part name xyz, each with a quantity of 10 items. The items can be picked during the day or week, therefore changing the amount of items on hand. I know I need to use the group by, sort, count and perhaps sumif formulas to have a running count of the number of items on hand at the end of each day (which could be positive or negative).   I have written the following batch file that does a great job combing through all folders beginning with the number 3 and applying folder permissions to any 2010 subfolder. • MySql calculate number of connections needed

  I am trying to figure my needs regarding web service hosting. After trying Azure I have realized that the default MySql they provide (through a third party) limits the account to 4 connections. You can then upgrade the account to 15, 30 or 40 connections (which is quite expensive). Their 15 connections plan is descirbed as: "Excellent choice for light test and staging apps that need a reliable MySQL database". I have 2 questions: if my application is a web service which needs to preform ~120k Queries a day (Normal/BELL distribution) and each query is ~150ms(duration)/~400ms(fetch), how many connection do I need? If instead of using cloud computing, I will choose a VPS, how many connections will I be able to handle on a 1GB 2 cores VPS? Thank you!

• Major permission repair needed on Mac Os

  I made the fatal error of copying and pasting a sudo command into my terminal without double checking it, here it is. sudo -R mysql / What this does (for those that don't know) is recursively change the owner every file from the root down to mysql!! obviously not what i was intending This has of course played havoc with my system, the first thing i did was the apple permission repair but that only works for files that it has an idea of though it has changed a lot of file ownerships back to root. It seems that many library files are still owned incorrectly, as a lot of problems don't work. What i propose doing as a temporary fix until i can reinstall mountain lion is to recursively set all ownerships that are mysql to Luke. I'm not sure what they should precisely but this is still better than nothing. Is this possible using a shell script? I realise that this won't fix the problem properly and i will have to reformat but i need the machine in a workable state just for this week.

  I am using the below information to auto-forward my work emails to my BB via a gmail account. The script works fine. But my work email ask's for every email to send either classifield or unclassified. What and where would I add into the below script to autoforward unclassified? I have written some VBA script to do this bypass the server's disabling of auto-forward. Basically it mimics the user forwarding the email rather than the server doing an auto-forward. It's pretty simple: Sub AutoForwardAllSentItems(Item As Outlook.MailItem) Dim strMsg As String Dim myFwd As Outlook.MailItem Set myFwd = Item.Forward myFwd.Recipients.Add "[email protected]" myFwd.Send Set myFwd = Nothing End Sub It's beyond the scope of this post to give detailed instructions, but here's a summary: Add the above code in the Visual Basic editor of Outlook (Alt-F11 should get your started). Be sure to change [email protected] to the address where you want the mail to go Tell Outlook to run this code for each inbound message (Tools - Rules and Alerts - New Rule - Check Messages when they arrive - Next - YES - Checkbox "Run a Script" - Then select the script you just created. Now Outlook should automatically forward each email you receive, but it won't be blocked by the Admin as an "Auto-forward".

  When running under a limited account, local event log messages are displaying fine, for remote computer I am getting this error: The description for Event ID ( xxxxx ) in Source ( yyyyy ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: zzzzz. Same remote computer works fine under domain administrator. I am currently experimenting with just the Event Viewer, by using Run As. Original issue is a PowerShell script which does Get-EventLog. Are there any special permissions that need to be in place to able to read event log messages remotely? Supposedly there is a simple solution in Windows 2008 and higher, i.e. just add user to Event Log Readers group. Is there anything like that for Windows 2003?

• SharePoint 2010 MySites - Simple explanation needed!

  I've been playing around with the 2010 beta for a couple of weeks, experimenting with topology options etc. I think I've got myself totally confused as to how it works hence if there's any SP experts out there that can explain things in simple terms for me I'd appreciate it! I want to setup a farm with 3 servers providing the content & MySites. I presume that the way to do this is to load balance or DNS round robin traffic between the 3 servers. The bit where I'm confused is that My Site Settings page asks for a specific My Site Host hence all my site traffic will be pushed to a single server even though we have 3 in the farm. If this hosts fails I presume MySites will be unavailable. Is this right? How do I configure it so that access to MySites is load balanced across the 3 servers in the farm?

• CentOS PHP Sessions not working even though the PHP Info page says it is

  I have PHP installed properly from the Remi repo on CentOS 6 (64 bit). As shown in the image above, the PHP information page shows sessions as working and installed, yet I get this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function session_create() in /var/www/lighttpd/index.php on line 1 I've tried multiple reinstalls, different PHP RPM's, and yet nothing will get sessions going. How can I get PHP sessions working?

• Debugging info for authentication in tomcat

  I have a JDBC realm setup and a web-app using basic authentication, but I can't get it to work. It is putting up the password dialog but it never succeeds. If I could get the authentication process to spit out some logs, I would be fine. I have debug="99" in my realm specification but I see nothing getting logged in the usual places. Am I missing something?

• Credentials needed for BT line on Netgear router

  I have recently bought a new Netgear router to replace my current BTHomeHub as it doesn't support wireless. I did buy a WAP but figured it would be easier to use a router with wireless built in. (It's a modem/router combo). I have got as far as setting up the router on the web interface, but then it asks for a username and password to connect to the net, I can only assume this is for the phone line? I have tried some passwords I could find written down but they don't work, the internet light comes on and then when the creds fail it goes off. I have been on the homehubs web interface and been through all the settings it has to find the credentials it is using which obviously work, but no joy. Is there anything obvious I am missing, or is there a way I can retrieve my settings from my existing router? Any pointers will be very appreciated.

  I need to build an ubuntu server for school, but I hate with a passion command line interfaces. I need a server with a desktop, like the current win server 2003 (which has crashed, ugh). This server needs to host the school lan domain, have an active directory, and handle the roaming profiles that the students and staff access through WinXP workstations.   Hi guys! I have to get into Linux ASAP and realy mean ASAP. I have installed Cygwin but as allways - things dont go as easy as one would like. First problem i enconter was - i choose KDE package, but there is no sign of KDE files anywhere in cygwin folder. How do i run KDE windows. Currently startx fires, but all looks ugly! My desire is to download and run Qt Creator. Seems that there is no cygwin package, but downloading source and compiling is good to go. Only that i have forgoten every linux command i ever knew! :D Please - what are default commands u use on linux? What does exec do? what ./ stands for? What is directory strucutre and why there is such mess in bin folder? Thanks god - i have windows over cygwin, so downloading files is not a problem, but again -how do i unpack them in linux style and how to i build? simply issue "make" command from folder, where i extracted files? Please help!

I know TextWrangler has a macro ability but I can't figure out a efficient way to do this.   I have a Logitech webcam, which I can plug into my Windows XP machine via USB. When I open the Device Manager, I can select the webcam and choose Properties--Driver--Driver Details. This gives me the following list of driver filenames: C:\Program Files\Common Files\logishrd\WUApp32.exe [25 more filenames...] C:\WINDOWS\TWAIN_32\QuickCam\reset.wav My question is, is there any way to copy this list to the clipboard? Copying it by hand is a drag.

  Browsers like Chrome and Firefox can use my wifi device to get information about the surrounded APs and pin point my physical location using Google Location Services, I know these browser always ask for permissions to do this, and that these features can also be "turned off". But I was wondering if there's a better way to prevent ANY application to access this information from my wifi device. I don't like anyone on the internet knowing where I live, and I am worried some software could do the same as these browsers but without asking for permissions. I am using Ubuntu 10.04.

  I have a server with a IP 1.0.0.5/24. This is the main IP address of the server, and now I have two other IP addresses for the server, they are 1.0.2.30/24 and 1.0.2.31/24. I want to make a VirtualBox running another OS accessible through the Internet, and only allow the specified IP to reach the virtual box. I'm new to iptables and therefore I need some basic help and getting started information about this. The hosting provider does not allow more than on MAC address per switch port, which means that I'm not able to make bridge as far as I know. Futhermore I want the host, to reject the extra IPs so its only the VirtualBox / virtual machine that accepts the request's on the extra IPS.
