    I'm using Executors.newScheduledThreadPool() to create a ScheduledExecutorService, specifying the number of threads like so: int corePoolSize = 42; ScheduledExecutorService foo = Executors.newScheduledThreadPool(corePoolSize); According to the JavaDocs, the corePoolSize argument sets the number of threads to keep in the pool, even if they are idle. Does this mean that this ExecutorService implementation may create more than corePoolSize threads as needed, similar to a cached thread pool?

  • Pull info from Excel Spreadsheet into C# Web Application

    I want to show information from an excel spreadsheet in a web page. The xls will have maybe 5 columns, and as many rows as needed. The columns will be 'Name', 'Created Date', 'Expired Date', 'Owner', and maybe down the road maybe more. What I would like is for the C# to nightly read the xls, and display the information in a table on the website. If there is a PDF available for download I am going to link that as well.   • Need to add "exe" version info to a mobile device exe created in VB

    I want to add version info to my mobile device exe file and apparently the following line is not supported in CF (windows mobile 6.0), ideas?: <Assembly: AssemblyFileVersion("1.0.0.0")> I want to be able to to right-click on the .exe after it is copied over to the PC and have the version displayed in a version tab just like any other .exe. I would then be able to read this version in code from a VB6 program.

    Eclipse Helios periodically starts running a job which displays "Computing additional info". During this time, Eclipse is very sluggish, bordering on unusable. What does this job do? Can I shut it off? I just hope that someone in the JDT team comes to sense and gets rid of it, make it go faster, or at the very least change it to something meaningful.

    Hi everybody, Magento provide translation feature, a nice one for e-commerce platform. But it seems to me that the translation is only for the predefined magento keyword, like 'add to cart', 'add to wishlist' etc and not for the product name, info, and description that the user input to the store. For example, consider spin text format: This is a {long|ugly|example} string I would want to parse this string and split it on the "{", "|", and "}" chars myString.Split('|','{','}') Now I have tokens to play with, but what I would like is to retain the info about which char was used to split each piece of the array that is returned. Any existing code that can do something like this?

  • webscraper grabbing images, but not entering info into database

    Hello, again. I'm having more issues with my script entering info into my database. The script below grabs a page, strips down the necessary info, then downloads the related image file. After that, it is supposed to enter the information gleaned from the URL into the database. For some reason, the script seems to iterate through the URLs, as I get downloaded images for each URL, but each URL's product is not entered into the database. The script will insert the first product's categories and product info, and then it just stops, and continues to download images.   • How to activate revision info in line number view

    I know of an Eclipse feature to show revision information (gradual coloring, more info like revisionnumber, date and author on mouseover) for the last changes in a line in the linenumbers-view. Does anyone know how to activate this feature for a file, or even better, by default? I accidently hit some shortcut lately which made it show in one file, it does not show up in the others, though.
