• USB headset no sound during games or playing music, but i can hear on ventrilo

  I currently just bought a new USB headset to replace my old mic. I put everything in order today and i can hear people talk when i'm logged in through Ventrilo, however, i get no game sounds or music playing from anything else. (lap1142n) In trying to set all this up and reading I think I bought the wrong access point. It seems I need a wireless controller? I read the theory of the config system and regardless of my feelings on the matter I understand where they are coming from.   altscreen is evil. If you don't know what I'm talking about, see this page for visual demonstration. Problem is, there doesn't seem to be a way to stop it with Terminal.app (under OSX), when you're not using screen. Yes, you can edit terminfo definition, but that's rather blunt hammer. Plus that solution might break if Apple decides to update relevant term's definition in some patch. Is there some clean way to convince Terminal.app to block altscreen usage?

• FreeBSD with 64 CPUs

  I have a quad socket octo-core system running FreeBSD. Currently, I need to turn off HyperThreading to get it to boot, as FreeBSD only supports 32 CPUs. There were some patches made awhile ago against a trunk version of 8.1, but even after modifying them slightly to work and compile with 8.1-RELEASE, the machine wouldn't boot. Has there been any progress here? I can't find much good information about it, Google thinks I'm talking about 64-bit architecture and not literally 64 CPUs.

  I recently bought new hard drives for my NAS. This means that I'm copying all the data off the NAS, upgrading it, and then moving the data back. I've gotten as far as copying the data from the NAS, but every file's modified/created date has been changed to when it was copied (today). Is there a way, keeping in mind that I have the original data, to batch update the modified/created dates on the copied files without having to copy them over again (we're talking over a terabyte of data)?

• Exchange2010 has Private Machine Name and IP in outbound SMTP - How to remove?

  We have a domain (domain.local) that has IP Addresses in the 10.10.10.* range. In the outbound SMTP server traffic, I see the internal machine name (exchange.domain.local), and the internal ip address (10.10.10.55). The question is, how do you remove this header from exchange, or change it to have the external machine name/ip addresses. I am not talking about the HELO / EHLO handshake as part of the protocol. Please help.
