• Nonstandard SSIS lookup

  I have a situation where I am trying to lookup a value in one table based on values in another table, using a BETWEEN operator and not an = operator. In one table, I have a value "EffectiveDate". I want to get a Weight number from another table, but the other table has two fields: "Inception" and "Termination". What I want to do is extract the Weight from that table for use where the EffectiveDate is between Inception and Termination. SSIS doesn't seem to provide a way to do this. It's good at matching one column to another column, but doesn't seem to allow one to many-column comparison/operations. Am I missing anything? Is this possible to do somehow?

• How to add request validation errors to ModelStateDictionary in ASP.NET MVC?

  Investigating the security of a system I'm building with ASP.NET MVC 2 led me to discover the request validation feature of ASP.NET - a very neat feature, indeed. But obviously I don't just want to present the users with the Yellow Screen of Death when they enter data with HTML in, so I'm out to find a better solution. My idea is to find all the fields that have invalid data and add them to the ModelStateDictionary before invoking the action such that they automatically appear in the UI as error messages. After googling this a bit it appears that no one have implemented this before which I find puzzling since it seems so obvious. Does anyone here have a suggestion on how to do this? My own idea is to supply a custom ControllerActionInvoker to the controller, as described here, that somehow checks for this and modifies the ModelStateDictionary but I'm stuck on how to do this last bit. Just catching HttpRequestValidationException exceptions does not seem a useful approach since it does not actually contain all the information I need.

• iTunes Music Store Link Maker — how to search from within my app?

  I'm writing a music reference app and for each album (pulled from last.fm) would like to link to the ITMS (if the album is in the store). iTunes link maker web tool http://apple.com/itunes/linkmaker/ is great for getting links for a known album but I need to access it programatically from within my app. This NSLog blogpost which is from 2003 but was referenced more recently in another question here seems to offer the only solution I've come across so far, suggesting to submit a query to: phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSearch.woa/wa/advancedSearchResults? Put "itms://" before it and the link will work in iTunes, put "http://" before it and the link will work in Camino (Safari sometimes spits back a malformed XML error). The tags that are of importance are as follows: songTerm - song title artistTerm - artist name albumTerm - album name composerTerm - composer name term - all fields The suggestion is that would using http:// rather than itms:// the server will return an XML document of results instead of opening iTunes but either way I am sent directly to iTunes. Is it possible to get back a list of results?

• mysql fulltext search as level2 index

  lets say I have a table with product details. one of the fields is category (integer). I want to do fulltext search on product name in specific category. Unfortunately Mysql does not allow me to specify index that includes category and product name as fulltext. It looks like I can use fulltext only on product_name and theefore any fulltext search will search product names in all categories. Is there any way to solve this (allow fulltext search/index only on products in category)?

• Variable for the field name of mysql row result

  I'm retrieving a row with php from mysql and it has fields like: name_en, name_es, name_de... I want to retrieve the right field base on my $lang variable (en, es, de...). If the $lang variable is 'es', I'd need to get $row['name_es']. I've tried this (based on this thread), but it's not working: $name = $row->{'name_'.$lang}; Any idea how can I use a variable as the name of the field of a row? Thanks in advance for your help!

  Where can I find some good information on the new client-side validation functionality included in ASP.NET MVC v2? I'd like to find information about using the client-side validation JavaScript without using DataAnnotations, and I'd like to find out how custom validations are handled. For example, if I want to validate two fields together, how would I utilize the provided JavaScript? Or if I wanted to write validation code on the server-side that queried a database, how could I use the provided JavaScript to implement a similar validation? I don't see any books on MVC2 yet, and the blog entries I've found are not detailed enough.

• Modal View Controller with keyboard on landscape iPad changes location when dismissed

  I present a modal view controller on my on my iPad with UIModalPresentationFormSheet presentation style and UIModalTransitionStyleCoverVertical transition style. The Modal View Controller contains a UIWebView with some TextFields on it. When the user taps one of the text fields the keyboard comes up. I have noticed that in landscape mode after the keyboard is shown, if I try to dismiss the modal view controller with animation the view changes its position from the center of the screen to the left side just before the animation starts.. This happens only if the keyboard is up and only in landscape mode on the iPad. If the user closes the modal view without pressing on any text field this doesn't happen. Anyone familiar with this strange behavior?

• How to Obtain Data to Pre-Populate Forms.

  The objective is to have a form reflect user's defined constraints on a search. At first, I relied entirely upon server-side scripting to achieve this; recently I tried to shift the functionality to JavaScript. On the server side, the search parameters are stored in a ColdFusion struct which makes it particularly convenient to have the data JSON'ed and sent to the client. Then it's just a matter of separately iterating over 'checkable' and text fields to reflect the user's search parameters; jQuery proved to be exceptionally effective in simplifying the workload. One observable difference lies in performance. The second method appeared to be somewhat slower and didn't work in IE8. Evidently, the returned JSON'ed struct was seen as an empty object. I'm sure it can be fixed, though before spending any more time with it, I'm curious to hear how others would approach the task. I'd gladly appreciate any suggestions. --Stan

  I'm using a class that extends BytecodeScanningDetector to check for some problematic fields in a class. After detecting whether the field is problematic, I add it to the bug report like below: Once I run findbugs, it identifies the bug, lists it in the left pane, but does not highlight the corresponding source line. • How to disable listbox's click event

  I have a listbox which acts as a list of items. If you click on some item, it's contents are shown in the panel on the right (few textboxes etc.). I need to have a validation on these controls as all of them are required fields. And I do have it. The problem is that, even when the validators are not valid, user can click the listbox and change active index (that doesn't have impact on the panel on the right, as SelectedIndexChanged isn't fired). The validators are standard RequiredFieldValidator with their Display property set to "Dynamic". So, what I want is to disallow the user clicking on the listbox and changing the index untill all validators are Valid. What would be your solution for that? Is that even possible?

  I have a form that contains some fields and a recaptcha box. I have hidden the recaptcha box. The user clicks "create profile" and a modal dialog pops up with the recaptcha box. All fine. But, how do I submit that information? I am using Javascript to create the recaptcha HTML in the modal. I have a button called "Create Profile" that has this code attatched to the onclick: $("#form").submit() The form data gets submitted to the create.php page, but the recaptcha info does not. Do I have to manually pass this information via the post request to create.php? Without the modal dialog it works fine. I can't understand what's going on. Any ideas?

  Hello Everyone, After having a search around I could not find exactly what I want, I am looking to validate a form client side using the Jquery library and some form of validation plugin. I was hoping that some one could advise me on whether there are any validation plugins out there that do not use generic error messages, as my form is laid out with no room for these errors, and I also I want the validator to to for correct content as well. Basically I want to be able to check the field on each key press and blur and if the fields validates for it to gain a green border, and if it does not validate for it to gain a red border, any one know of a plugin that can do this? • How to make strtotime parse dates in Australian (i.e. UK) format: dd/mm/yyyy?

  I can't beleive I've never come across this one before. Basically, I'm parsing the text in human-created text documents and one of the fields I need to parse is a date and time. Because I'm in Australia, dates are formatted like dd/mm/yyyy but strtotime only wants to parse it as a US formatted date. Also, exploding by / isn't going to work because, as I mentioned, these documents are hand-typed and some of them take the form of d M yy. I've tried multiple combinations of setlocale but no matter what I try, the language is always set to US English. I'm fairly sure setlocale is the key here, but I don't seem to be able to strike upon the right code. Tried these: au au-en en_AU australia aus Anything else I can try?   Hi, I am a Javascript/jQuery/Prototype newcomer and I have a page that has a Prototype function to get info from a database and put it into some input fields. This was made before I came to work on this site and now I've been asked to add a hide/show div function. I tried it in jQuery and there were clashes with the two frameworks, (as found in my previous question). My question now is, how would I go about building a show/hide function in Prototype?   I'm using the office 2007 interop assemblies to create some excel spreadsheets. There are plenty of questions on here about getting started and MSDN contains heaps of articles, like this one. The API is funky, and sometimes a bit confusing. When I set a value of a cell, is there a way to set it's format? I'd like to mark particular fields as Date's so my customer can run excel macros on them. Also, numbers would be useful. Thanks!

• HTML Form Upload PDF with other form contents using PHP

  I have a HTML form with fields such as name, address, notes, etc. I also have a field to upload a PDF. The uploaded PDF get's stored on the file system. How can I accomplish this if possibly the PDF files are larger than 2 MBs? Also, for some reason, the uploading of the PDF (< 2 MBs) works fine in Chrome, but not in IE. In IE, the upload doesn't even begin, but in Chrome, it completes fine.   Hello I have two tables in database: CREATE TABLE items( id SERIAL PRIMARy KEY, ... some other fields ); This table contains come data row with unique ID. CREATE TABLE some_choosen_data_in_order( id SERIAL PRIMARy KEY, id_items INTEGER[], ); This table contains array type field. Each row contains values of IDs from table "items" in specyfic order. For example: {2,4,233,5}. Now, I want to get data from table "items" for choosen row from table "some_choosen_data_in_order" with order for elements in array type. The my attempt is JOIN: SELECT I.* FROM items AS I JOIN some_choosen_data_in_order AS S ON I.id = ANY(S.id_items) WHERE S.id = ? Second attempt was subquery like: SELECT I.* FROM items AS I WHERE I.id = ANY (ARRAY[SELECT S.id_items FROM some_choosen_data_in_order WHERE id = ?]) But none of them keep IDs order in array field. Could You help me, how to get data from "items" table with correspond with array IDs order from "some_choosen_data_in_order" table for specyfic row?

  hello, i'm trying to build a mini reply system, based on the user's posts on a mini blog. Every post has a link named reply. if one presses reply, the reply form appears, and one edits the reply, and submits the form.The problem is that i don't know how to take the id of the post i want to reply to. In the view, if i use as a parameter one number (as an id of the blog post),it inserts the reply to the database. But how can i do it by not hardcoding?
