• Iterating over two arrays at a time in Javascript

  I want to iterate over two arrays at the same time, as the values for any given index i in array A corresponds to the value in array B. I am currently using this code, and getting 'undefined' when I call queryPredicates[i] or queryObjects[i], I know my array is populated as I print out the array prior to calling this, I haven't put all the other code in as it might be confusing, but if you think the problem is not evident from this I will edit the question: function getObjectCount(){ variables = queryPredicates.length; //the number of variables is found by the length of the arrays - they should both be of the same length queryString="count="+variables; for(var i=1; i<=variables;i++){ alert(queryPredicates[i]); alert(queryObjects[i]); } Thanks

  Hi all I have two tables and want to make a query. I tried to get team AA and team BB's image base on table A. I used: SELECT tableA.team1, tableA.team2, tableB.team, tableB.image, FROM tableA LEFT JOIN tableB ON tableA.team1=tableB.team The result only display imageA on the column. The solution was (based on one column): SELECT cid, sum( date_pm ) AS No_of_ones FROM apples WHERE date_am =1 GROUP BY cid ORDER BY no_of_ones DESC This works great for one column but how would I do the same for the sum of the two columns. ie.   Given an array arr[] of integers, find out the difference between any two elements such that larger element appears after the smaller number in arr[]. Examples: If array is [2, 3, 10, 6, 4, 8, 1, 7] then returned value should be 8 (Diff between 10 and 2). If array is [ 7, 9, 5, 6, 3, 2 ] then returned value should be 2 (Diff between 7 and 9) My Algorithm: I thought of using D&C algorithm. Explanation 2, 3, 10, 6, 4, 8, 1, 7 then 2,3,10,6 and 4,8,1,7 then 2,3 and 10,6 and 4,8 and 1,7 then 2 and 3 10 and 6 4 and 8 1 and 7 Here as these elements will remain in same order, i will get the maximum difference, here it's 6. Now i will move back to merege these arrays and again find the difference between minimum of first block and maximum of second block and keep doing this till end. I am not able to implement this in my code. can anyone please provide a pseudo code for this?

• Comparing two xml files

  I have two large xml files. Almost 1.4 mb each. I want to compare them and see the differing part. I am using linux. Is there any free tool which can do this for me ? Or any other technique ? I used "diff" command in linux and tried to output the result in another file. (diff file1.xml file2.xml result.xml) But the resulted file showed "Could not parse the xml". However it showed something on screen. I would like the differ part to be stored somewhere if possible. (or atleast I should be able to see it properly) Thanks Ragini

  I have a semi xml formatted file that contains line with the following format: <param name="Distance" value="1000Km" /> The first char in the string is usually a TAB or spaces. I've been using the following to try to parse the two strings out (from name and value): if(sscanf(lineread, "\t<param name=\"%s\" value=\"%s\" />", name, value) == 1) { //do something } name and value are char* Now, the result is always the same: name gets parse (I need to remove the quotes) and name is always empty.   I have a Users Table where it stores city, state and country along with other Users attributes. The states are stored as California, Alabama and so forth. Now I want to retrieve the user information for certain records but the state should get translated to two digit code. Say 'California' should be 'CA'. How should I go about doing this. I was thinking to create a mapping table for state names with there abbreviation and then use some sort of replace function to do it. Any ideas ?

Can I combine the 2 subqueries somehow?

  What is the best C++ (not C++11) way of joining two enums from autogenerated class similar to one presented below: namespace A { namespace B { ... class CarInfo { enum State { // basically same enums defined in different classes Running, Stopped, Broken } } class BikeInfo { enum State { // basically same enums defined in different classes Running, Stopped, Broken } } } } What is needed is unified enum State for both classes that is seen to outside world alongside with safe type conversion. The best and probably most straightforward way I came up with is to create external enum: enum State { Running, Stopped, Broken } together with conversion functions State stateEnumConv(A::B::CarInfo::State aState); State stateEnumConv(A::B::BikeInfo::State aState); A::B::CarInfo::State stateEnumConv(State aState); A::B::BikeInfo::State stateEnumConv(State aState); Direction into right approach is needed. Gosh coming from C I hate those long namespaces everywhere an I wish it could be only A::B level like in presented example. Four conversion functions seem redundant note that CarInfo::State and BikeInfo::State has same enum "members".

  I know there are many algorithms to verify whether two line segments are intersected. But once they encountered parallel condition, they just tell the user a big "No" and pretend there is no overlap, share end point, or end point collusion. I know I can can calculate the distance between 2 lines segments. If the distance is 0, check the end points located in the other line segments or not. And this means I have to use a lot of if else and && || conditions. This is not difficult, but my question is "Is there a trick( or mathematics) method to calculate this special parallel case?"

  Hi All, I installed Visual Studio 2008 Professional in my machine and It had installed SQL Server Express 2005 database in machine, and I use it very fine! I installed SQL Managment Studio and works great. So, in this week I Installed Visual Studio 2010 Pro in machine and the setup installed the SQL Server express 2008 and it overwrite the instance of my SQL Server Express 2005. All right, Now, I'd like to know how can I have two instances of the SQL Server Express in my Machine, Express 2005 and Express 2008. I can not access the 2005 , only 2008 :( and my projects uses 2005.. Somebody Help me! thanks Bye

  I maintain a Drupal project in a git repository containing submodules. This works well for me overall, and I like the submodule approach. However, I would like to move my site to a hosting provider that offers deployment via git push but doesn't work with submodules. I would like to keep my current repository intact, and then when I'm ready to deploy, I would like to merge the changes from my repository into the deployment repository, but any submodules need to be exported into the tree. So, it needs to be (semi) automated, so I can just run a command or two and initiate the merge, and then push to the server. Ideally it would keep track of individual commits, but I wouldn't mind if it squashed them into a single commit. How would be the most effective way to achieve this?

• Using report viewer, how do I pull from two seperate Datasets

  I have two datasets I need to pull from, A base that both reports use and then a separate one that only one report pulls from. I get the error Error 12 The Value expression for the text box ‘Textbox9’ refers to the field ‘Name’. Report item expressions can only refer to fields within the current dataset scope or, if inside an aggregate, the specified dataset scope. My best guess is I have to associate them with the correct dataset but I have not been able to find any documentation on this. Can someone please tell me where in the rdlc document I need to code something like name.value, "dataset1" or something similar?

  I've never personally used any of the Data controls within Visual Studio. I need to view and edit a two-dimensional byte array, 16x15 objects. Is there any control capable of editing this information? I've tried to access data with the DataViewGrid, but am not sure how to use it. It would be great to edit this information via rows and columns, like how you can in Excel. Thank you! Times like this I wish I could just use multiple text boxes and assign them each an index value.   so i have a list where i need to add new values constantly but when i do i need to increment it and insert it in between two values. List<int> initializers = new List <int>(); initializers.Add(1); initializers.Add(3); so initializers would have 1, 3 values. i would then process a new set of numbers. the initializers will need to have the values. 1, 5, 3, 7 and if i process another set of numbers it should become 1, 9, 5, 13, 3, 11, 7, 15 i know how to properly generate the new values inserted, i just need some help on inserting it in between the existing values of the initializers without having to add 2 or 3 more loops to move the values' positions.
