• PHP: Return string between two characters

  I am wanting to use "keywords" within a large string. These keywords start and end using *my_keyword* and are user defined. How, within a large string, can I search and find what is between the two * characters and return each instance? The reason it might change it, that parts of the keywords can be user defined, such as *page_date_Y* which might show the year in which the page was created. So, again, I just need to do a search and return what is between those * characters. Is this possible, or is there a better way of doing this if I don't know the "keyword" length or what i might be?

• Forward traffic between two VLANs.

  I have a small network with two VLANs. One is our internal network for basic file sharing, etc and the other is a public wifi network for our customers. The internal network is configured as 192.168.1.x and the public wifi is 192.168.11.x. We have one printer at 192.168.1.50. I would like to be able to have that printer available to our customer at 192.168.11.50. I suspect it can be done with iptables, but I'm brand new to it and I just can seem to work out the syntax. Can anyone offer any help? Oh, this is all running on a wrt54g router running Tomato.

  I've got two List<Name>s: public class Name { public string NameText {get;set;} public Gender Gender { get; set; } } public class Gender { public decimal MaleFrequency { get; set; } public decimal MaleCumulativeFrequency { get; set; } public decimal FemaleCumulativeFrequency { get; set; } public decimal FemaleFrequency { get; set; } } If the NameText property matches, I'd like to take the FemaleFrequency and FemaleCumulativeFrequency from the list of female Names and the MaleFrequency and MaleCumulativeFrequency values from the list of male Names and create one list of Names with all four properties populated. What's the easiest way to go about this in C# using .Net 3.5?

• python equivalent of filter() getting two output lists

  Let's say I have a list, and a filtering function. Using something like >>> filter(lambda x: x > 10, [1,4,12,7,42]) [12, 42] I can get the elements matching the criterion. Is there a function I could use that would output two lists, one of elements matching, one of the remaining elements? I could call the filter() function twice, but that's kinda ugly :) Edit: the order of elements should be conserved, and I may have identical elements multiple times.

  I have some two nested resources, so that a Product can have many Bookings. On one page in a different controller I want to create a new booking and since it's a "general" booking I want a select menu to appear in a modal window where the user is able to pick one of the existing products and then go to the booking page. How can I do this? I have no problem setting up the modal and the "New booking" page is already there. What I need is a form that generates a list of existing products, picks the selected product id and then gets /products/:product_id/bookings/new . Any help appreciated! I realize my title does not describe my problem very good so better suggestions are highly welcome!

  I'm attempting to use a double to represent a bit of a dual-value type in a database that must sometimes accept two values, and sometimes accept only one (int). So the field is a float in the database, and in my C# code, it is a double (since mapping it via EF makes it a double for some reason... ) So basically what I want to do .. let's say 2.5 is the value. I want to separate that out into 2, and 5. Is there any implicit way to go about this?

  I have two identical table ie all the columns are identical and one of the datatype is Text, one is varchar(255) and the rest are int. Lets say the table name is 'AAAAA'. Table AAAAA was processed and backed up earlier this month. Both the tables were storing data and now the second table is only storing data. I need to find unmatching records from the second table (BBBBB) which is storing data right now and add those records to Table AAAAA. Your help will be highly appreciated. I tried to use 'EXCEPT' but it does not support text datatype. I'm using SQL Server 2005.

  i am new to geometric drawing in wpf. i have a volmeter arc that needs to have alert value. The section of the arc beyond that alert value has to be done with a different color than the rest of the arc. hence the arc is brushed with 2 different colors. a path has one brush at a time.hence how i apply two different pens to the same arc? the alert value is obtained with a lot of pain by doing calculations like gemetry.getpointatfraction.it won't easy to apply triggers any suggestions /approach?

• Conversion of Single to two UInt16 values in .net

  In the good old days of C. I could cast a float to an int (assuming 32 bit system), do some bit manipluation ( bitwise and, right shift, ect ), and get the upper and lower 16 bit hex representations of the floating point number, which I could then store in two short values. I'm not seeing an easy way of doing this in C#. System.Convert.ToUInt16 just does a float to int convert (even after I shift right), which leaves a vlaue of 0 if the float is less than 0, which is not the desired effect. //useless leaves me witg a value 0f 0 UIN16 s1 = (UInt16)((System.Convert.ToUInt32(d2) & 0xffff0000) >> 16); //capture the high word UInt16 s2 = (UInt16)(System.Convert.ToUInt32(d2) & 0xffff); //capture the low word A basic cast (UInt32) doesn't work either.

• Mercurial: two separate repos somewhat related (yes I'm getting confused)

  I have a local repository, let's call it ONE. ONE is the actual program. It's an android program, in case it matters for some reason. I have a remote repository, let's call it EXT. EXT is somewhat a library, used by ONE. ONE has a complex directory structure, mandated by android. The main sources are in src/bla/bla/ONE. Since ONE uses EXT, to do it I had to create another directory next to that one, that is src/bla/bla/EXT. I think would like to keep them separated in two repositories, but I need for them to actually be in this same directory structure to compile ONE. At the moment I just created a symlink to do it, but I wonder if there is a better way of doing that, that uses some hg feature.

I have two regional tables laid out with the same column names and I can put out a result list for either table based on the following query (swap Table2 for Table1): SELECT Table1.YEAR, FORMAT(COUNT(Table1.id),0) AS Total FROM Table1 WHERE Table1.variable='Y' GROUP BY Table1.YEAR Ideally I'd like to get a result that gives me a total sum of the counts by year, so instead of: | REGION 1 | | REGION 2 | | YEAR | Total | | YEAR | Total | | 2010 | 5 | | 2010 | 1 | | 2009 | 2 | | 2009 | 3 | | | | | 2008 | 4 | I'd have: | MERGED | | YEAR | Total | | 2010 | 6 | | 2009 | 5 | | 2008 | 4 | I've tried a variety of JOINs and other ideas but I think I'm caught up on the SUM and COUNT issue.   Global.alert("base: " + base + ", upfront: " + upfront + ", both: " + (base + upfront)); This code above outputs this: base: 15000, upfront: 36, both: 1500036 Why is it joining the two numbers instead of adding them up? I eventually want to set the value of another field to this amount using this: mainPanel.feesPanel.initialLoanAmount.setValue(Ext.util.Format.number((base + upfront), '$0,000.00')); ...and when I try that now it turns the number into the millions instead of 15,036.00. I have no idea why. Any ideas?

  Hi, I have two large source trees. One of them has some out of date image files. I would like to automatically update all the old image files (png, jpg, gif) in one source tree with the up to date image files in the other source tree. I am using Windows 7 but I have Cygwin installed. I have tried using rsync so far but with no success. I was hoping I could do something like: rsync -r *.png newSourceTree oldSourceTree Any help would be much appreciated.

  Hi everyone, I need your help I've a MVC project that uses Jquery, where I've implemented a mechanism of "Remember Me" using cookies to save, clear and retrieve the login and password. I also have two screens where the user does the login. I want that both logins manipulate the same cookie. I've got to implement it, but I've realized that each one has a different behaviour. I mean, the cookie's value I save in the first login is not the same than the value that retrieves the second login (when I open it). In other words, if I mark "remind me" on the first login, it isn't reflected on the second login and viceversa. What can I do to make that both of them manipulate and read the same values from the same cookie? Is it possible? PS: For this situations I'm using the same web navigator: Firefox or IE. • JQuery .get() only passing first two data parameters in url

  I have a $.get() call to a PHP page that takes 4 GET parameters. For some reason, despite giving the $.get() call all 4, it only passes the first two. When I look at the dev console in chrome, it shows the URL that gets called, and it only passes action and dbname. • writing a single line of a file in C++ into two different arrays

  suppose a text file has 11001100 11001101 and i open the text file and take the input from the file as pt[0]=11001100, pt[1]=11001101.. but if i take the input from file as inpt it wont put it in two different arrays which is obvious but it takes the whole line . Thus I have to take another for loop and traverse through the whole string and when I find a null character i start putting into the second array . But how can I do it without putting it into a variable and traversing .. I mean directly from the file itself ..

  I gonna try to describe my problem the best i can. I have two lists, one with audio frames and other with color frames (not relevant). Both of them have timestamps, they were captured at the same moment but at different instants. So, i have like this: index COLOR AUDIO 0 841 846 1 873 897 2 905 948 3 940 1000 the frames start at high numbers because they were captured and then trimmed to specific parts, but im shot, frame 0 is synced with only 5ms apart(timestamp in ms).
