  • Hadoop write directory

    Simple question but reading through documentation and configuration I can't quite seem to figure it out. How do I A) know where hadoop is writing to on the local disk and B) change that For initial testing I setup HDFS on a 20gb linux VM - to it we've added a 500gb networked drive for moving towards prototyping the full system. So now how do I point HDFS at that drive, or do I simply move the home directory/install with some slight change in setup and restart the process?

  • HTML5 Playlist plays 2 videos, How about 4 or 5?

    I'm able to get two videos to play sequentially, (and without pause!) with this code from Apple, (see section 2-4)... http://developer.apple.com/safari/library/documentation/AudioVideo/Conceptual/Using_HTML5_Audio_Video/ControllingMediaWithJavaScript/ControllingMediaWithJavaScript.html ...Yet completely lost as to how to play a 3rd or 5th video. Trouble is I'm a Javascript noob :-(, so if you figure this out please share as much of your code as possible. Thanks much!

  • Testcase with multitouch on Android?

    The TouchUtils class in the android documentation has functions like drag() [http://developer.android.com/intl/de/reference/android/test/TouchUtils.html#drag(android.test.InstrumentationTestCase,%20float,%20float,%20float,%20float,%20int)], but they do not support multi touch gestures, like a two finger swipe. Looking at the MotionEvent.obtain() methods, there does not seem to be any way of invoking a "virtual" multi touch event from a testcase. Anyone has got it working?

This person simply asked me if the sapply function in R was making concurrent calls to the function you want to apply to the list, or if the computation is done sequantially.   • ASP.NET MVC Custom Routing Long Custom Route not Clicking in my Head

    I have spent several hours today reading up on doing Custom Routing in ASP.NET MVC. I can understand how to do any type of custom route if it expands from or is similar/smaller than the Default Route. However, I am trying figure out how to do a route similar to: /Language/{id}/Question/{id}/ And what I would like, too, is similar to how SO works. Something like: /Language/{id}/Arabic/Question/{ID}/Some-Question-Title Where "Arabic" and "Some-Question-Title" can be almost anything because what really matters is the ID's Am I going beyond what can be done with the extended URL past the language ID?

In ruby there's very common idiom to check if current file is "main" file: if __FILE__ == $0 # do something here (usually run unit tests) end I'd like to do something similar in C after reading gcc documentation I've figured that it should work like this: #if __FILE__ == __BASE_FILE__ // Do stuff #endif the only problem is after I try this: $ gcc src/bitmap_index.c -std=c99 -lm && ./a.out src/bitmap_index.c:173:1: error: token ""src/bitmap_index.c"" is not valid in preprocessor expressions Am I using #if wrong?

  • Possible to have an NSIS callback function after all files were copied?

    Trying to optimize my MUI 2 NSIS setup in which I do some ExecWait calls in the .onInstSuccess callback function, I was searching through the documentation to find a callback that is called: after the files are all copied -and- before the wizard page is being switched from the file copy page to the finish page. Unfortunately, I found no such callback. Therefore my question is: Is it possible to do some custom processing after the files are copied and before the wizard page is being switched away from the file copy page?

  • Doxygen with C# internal access modifier

    I am using Doxygen to generate some API docs for a C# project I am working on. I have quite a bit of "internal" functionality in this project and don't want Doxygen producing these signatures in the generated html it produces. I have tried enabling HIDE_FRIEND_COMPOUNDS but this still results in my internal classes being exposed in the generated documentation. Does anyone know how to do this?

  • RegCreateKeyEx - does it update the returned handle on failure?

    MSDN documentation seems silent on whether RegCreateKeyEx ever updates the value of the handle referred to by its second-last parameter when it fails. My tests have only shown it not to update this - i.e., I set h = 0 before the call, pass &h to a call to RegCreateKeyEx to open a non-existent key, and see h = 0 after the call. Does anyone know of any situation in which the handle would be changed?

  • YouTube .Net API - Not getting correct View Counts

    I've managed to plug away through the YouTube documentation, and have managed to successfully implement the majority of what I want to work. My question is, I get the video View count and it comes back lower than the actual video on YouTube. It was fine this morning and both showed correctly, but now my version is out by 4 views. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or can tell me if they update the values every 5/10/15/24 hours?

I've tried to use enums, using the exact syntax from the groovy documentation, and each time I see the compile error: Groovy:The class java.lang.Enum refers to the class java.lang.Enum and uses 1 parameters, but the referred class takes no parameters Any ideas on what's going on?   • Vertical line problem in the detail section of Crystal report

    Hello, I have a little problem with the vertical lines in Detail section. In detail section at the end there is horizontal line. Also I have Report Footer section which displays total number of records. I suppressed Page Footer section. I would like end all the vertical lines to the last line of the records not to extend beyond the "Total"(Report Footer). It works fine if everything on the same page. The problem starts when the last line of the detail is on the first page and the "Total" wouldn't fit on the first page. It displays "Total" on the second page and it draws vertical lines to the end of the page. Thanks for any suggestion.

    Hallo @ All I ran into the same problem as desciped in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1884491/crashing-while-trying-to-move-uitableview-rows! All I want to do is on specific reranging operations insert a new cell or delet the selected one! Sometimes I get a * Assertion failure in -[_UITableViewUpdateSupport _setupAnimationForReorderingRow], /SourceCache/UIKit/UIKit-963.10/UITableViewSupport.m:295 Attempt to create two animations for cell exception and when I want to reload my data by calling [self.tableView reloadData] I get a * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '* -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (0) beyond bounds (0)' This is quiet anoying! Is there anybody out there who knows how to handle this problem? Please help me!

If get this error: error C2039: 'serialize' : is not a member of 'boost::array<T,N>' I have tried to include the serialization/array.hpp header but it did not help.     I tried reading the documentation but I still don’t really understand how magento's xml layout files work. In the directory app/design/frontend/default/modern/layout, i see a lot of xml files. How do I determine which xml file any given page on the website is using? For example, if I were on the home page at http://mysite.com, which layout xml file am I using? What if I’m on http://mysite.com/hello-world, which xml file then?

  • Using low level api for datastore in google app engine ? is it bad ?

    There is little documentation on how to use the low level api for datastore and quite a lot on JPA and JDO and how it translates to it. My question is: is there any advantage in coding against the JPA or JDO specs instead of accessing directly the low level api for datastore ?     I want to do AES CBC encryption in Java. I'm using javax.crypto. After I have the Cipher initialized, do I only need to call doFinal on the clear bytes to properly encrypt it? Or do I need to do something with update? Documentation says update: Continues a multiple-part encryption or decryption operation and doFinal Encrypts or decrypts data in a single-part operation, or finishes a multiple-part operation what exactly do they mean by multiple-part encryption?

  • When would isSearchable return false for an Oracle JDBC column?

    In what cases would a call to java.sql.ResultSetMetaData.isSearchable(int col) return false for an Oracle database? The documentation for the method doesn't really answer the question: "Indicates whether the designated column can be used in a where clause." I can think of only one case - when the column is the result of an aggregate function (in which case it would have to be part of a HAVING filter, not a WHERE filter). Are there any other cases?
