    As an ASP.NET developer, I'm used to working with how VS/C# transparently autogens proxy classes for web references (yes, I know, we're spoiled), but now that I'm creating documentation for more than one coding platform I'm trying to discover what the equivelant to that is in any other framework. So is there a similar way to work transparently with web reference proxy classes for say, RoR, PHP, and Python? And if there's nothing integrated, are there tools you recommend to autogen the proxy classes, or do you recommend to roll custom classes?

  • Outputcache - how to determine optimal value for duration?

    I read somewhere that for a high traffic site (I guess that is a murky term as well), 30 - 60 seconds is a good value. Obviously I could do a load test and vary the values, but I couldn't find any kind of documentation on this. Most samples have a minute, a couple of minutes. There's no recommended range. Is there something on msdn or anywhere that talks about this?

    Hi, I want to use git as a local repository against a remote SVN repository. I installed version 1.6.0.2 from http://code.google.com/p/msysgit/downloads/list. According to the documentation synchronization is done via the command git svn or a separate command wrapper called git-svn Neither of them is available in my installation and I could not find a separate download for Windows binaries. I'm currenty using the MSYS build. Must I switch to cygwin?

    Is there a way to know when the index on uitableview is actually used? I can’t find any methods in the Apple documentation, but I was wondering if anyone else knows anything. I would basically like to make an animation in my table view that changes depending on what section is selected in the index, and I have no idea how to do this without accessing the table view index.     I'm trying to understand an old classic Mac application's entry point. I've disassembled the first CODE resource (not CODE#0, which is the jump table). The code refers to some variables off the stack: a word at 0004(A7), an array of long words of starting at 000C(A7) whose length is the value at 0004(A7), and a final long word beyond that array that seems to be a pointer to a character string. The array of long words looks like strings at first glance, so it looks superficially like we're dealing with an (int argc, char ** argv) situation, except the "argv" array is inline in the stack frame. What should a program be expecting on its stack / registers when it first gets called by the Mac OS?
