  • qTip pop ups come in from top left of screen (on first load)

    Hi, not sure if i'm set things up incorrectly - I don't seem to see anyone else with this problem, but my qTip popups (all ajax loaded content) are loading quite erratically, in that they are often animating in from off screen before appearing in the correct position.     SO Question: jQuery Validate - require at least one field in a group to be filled I uses the sample rule from the above link and it works, but the problem was it overrides the fields that going to be validated it jumps directly to the group validation, when validates a form the messages in my error container only contains error for the group fields.

    I am currently achieving the desired outcome with two PHP statements: $thisBlarg = $xmlResource->xpath('//blarg[@ID='.$someBlargID.']'); echo $thisBlarg[0]->name; But, not wanting to settle for second best, I'd really prefer this to be one statement, but PHP doesn't like this: echo $xmlResource->xpath('//blarg[@ID='.$someBlargID.']')[0]->name; And for good reason. But I can't find a way to force an xpath query to return the result directly. Any suggestions?

    In my Asterisk log file, I have a line like this (truncated): Executing [123@mycontext:1] Set("SIP/myhost-b7111840", "__INCOMINGCLI=4711") Now I want to do the following filtering while looking at the log file with tail -f: Match lines with a specific value for "INCOMINGCLI", storing the call ID (the "SIP/myhost-b7111840" part) Output all subsequent lines that contain the call ID. As a bonus, having a grep-like option like -A would be nice. I could do that easily in various programming languages, but how would I do it with standard UNIX commands like sed or awk? Can it be done with these commands?

    I have a fixed array of constant integer values about 300 items long (Set A). The goal of the algorithm is to pick two numbers (X and Y) from this array that fit several criteria based on input R. Formal requirement: Pick values X and Y from set A such that the expression X*Y/(X+Y) is as close as possible to R. That's all there is to it. I need a simple algorithm that will do that. Additional info: The Set A can be ordered or stored in any way, it will be hard coded eventually. Also, with a little bit of math, it can be shown that the best Y for a given X is the closest value in Set A to the expression X*R/(X-R). Also, X and Y will always be greater than R From this, I get a simple iterative algorithm that works ok: int minX = 100000000; int minY = 100000000; foreach X in A if(X<=R) continue; else Y=X*R/(X-R) Y=FindNearestIn(A, Y);//do search to find closest useable Y value in A if( X*Y/(X+Y) < minX*minY/(minX+minY) ) then minX = X; minY = Y; end end end I'm looking for a slightly more elegant approach than this brute force method.   • Linear Search with Jagged Array?

    Hello, I have the following program that creates 100 random elements trough a array. Those 100 random value's are unique, and every value only gets displayed once. Although with the linear search it keeps looking up the entire array. How would i be able to get a Jagged Array into this, so it only "scans" the remaining places left? (assuming i keep the table at 100 max elements, so if one random value is generated the array holds 99 elements with linear search scans and on...) I assume i would have to implent the jagged array somewhere in the FoundLinearInArray? Hopefully this made any sence.   • autocomplete: how do I avoid a duplicate search?

    I use JQuery plugin autocomplete as a kind of dataset chooser. If the user chooses a value from the autocomplete lookup, the database is queried for the matching dataset. If the user types in a new value, the user can enter a new dataset. An issue arises when the user types in an existing value rather than choosing it from the autocomplete lookup. When this is done, the autocomplete .result() method is not called and no dataset is retrieved. To fix this I added a .blur(function(){$(this).search();}); to the input element. This fixed the original problem. Now I have the problem that .result() fires on selection from lookup AND on blur. I would like .result() to fire on selection from lookup OR on blur. How do I make that happen?   • Jquery find first visible element after horizontal scroll

    I’m new (only two weeks old) in Jquery, so please bear with me. I know that a very similar question was asked some time ago but I do not know how to adapt the answer to my problem. I have a very wide multicolumn layout something like this: | aaaa | bbbb | cccc | … | | aaaa | b | cc | … | | aaa | cccc | ddd | … | The code looks like: <div id="container"> <p>aaaaaaaaaaa</p> <p>bbbbb</p> <p>ccccccccccc</p> <p>dddddddddd</p> ... <p>xxxxxx</p> </div> There is no vertical scrolling and the container width is set in such a way that only two columns are shown. The user scrolls left or right to see the relevant text. What I want is to get the position currently on display, store it (maybe in a cookie) and retrieve it the next time the user opens the page. I think that I need a way of finding out what paragraph is currently the left-top most, but other suggestions are very welcome. Any ideas? btw: this is an internal project, so Mozilla only :-) Thanks Lolo
