    Hello, In my app I move the table view (in order to make the text fields visible when the keyboard appears). The view is looks following: This is the code I use for resizing the view and moving it up: static const NSUInteger navBarHeight = 44; CGRect appFrame = [[UIScreen mainScreen] applicationFrame]; tableView.frame = CGRectMake(0, navBarHeight, appFrame.size.width, appFrame.size.height-navBarHeight-216); //216 for the keyboard NSIndexPath *indPath = [self getIndexPathForTextField:textField]; //get the field the view should scroll to [tableView scrollToRowAtIndexPath:indPath atScrollPosition:UITableViewScrollPositionMiddle animated:YES]; The problem is that when the view is moved up it also moves 3 pixels into right direction (it is hard to see the difference in the screenshot, but it is visible when the animation is on and I measured the difference with PixelStick tool). Here it is how it looks after the move: My analysis shows that scrolling the table does not influence the move to the right. Any ideas what is wrong in the code above that makes the view move to the right?

  • Elegant solution to retrieve custom date and time?

    I am currently using a date and time picker to retrieve a user-submitted date and time, and then I set a control's text to the date and time selected. I am using the following code: new DatePickerDialog(newlog3.this, d, calDT.get(Calendar.YEAR), calDT.get(Calendar.MONTH), calDT.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH)).show(); new TimePickerDialog(newlog3.this, t, calDT.get(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY), calDT.get(Calendar.MINUTE), true).show(); optCustom.setText(fmtDT.format(calDT.getTime())); Now, while the above code block does bring up the date and time widgets and sets the text, the code block is being executed in full before the user can select the date.. ie: It brings up the date box first, then the time box over that, and then updates the text, all without any user interaction. I would like the date widget to wait to execute the time selector until the date selection is done, and i would like the settext to execute only after the time widget is done. How is this possible? Or is there is a more elegant solution that is escaping me?     I have a memory problem in an iPhone app, giving me a hard time. Here is the error message I get: malloc: * mmap(size=9281536) failed (error code=12) * error: can't allocate region I am using ARC for this app, in case that might be useful information. The code (below) is just using a file in the Bundle in order to load a core data entity. The strange thing is the crash happens only after more than 90 loops; while it seems to mee that since the size of the "contents" in getting smaller and smaller, the memory request should also get smaller and smaller.   • inputAccessoryView not hide the view when -resignFirstResponder?

    I have attached a toolbar with a UITextField and UIButton to the keyboard when it becomes the first responder via the user taping inside the textfield textField.inputAccessoryView = theToolbar; Problem is, the toolbar disappears when the keyboard is dismissed, thus preventing any further input. Any ideas on how to make the toolbar go back to the bottom of the screen rather than off it completely? I'm thinking a delegate method might help but Im really not too sure. It seems once the inputAccessoryView always the inputAccessoryView :( Cheers

  • issue with tab bar view displaying a compound view

    I created a tab bar application, and I make the first tab a table. So I create a tableView controller, and go about setting the class identity of the view controller for the first tab to my tableView controller. This works fine, and I see the contents of the table filling up the whole screen. However, this is not what I actually want in the end goal - I would like a compound window having multiple views: - the aforementioned table - a custom view with data in it So what I do is create a nib for this content (call it contentNib), change the tab's class from the tableView controller to a generic UIViewController, and set the nib of that tab to this new contentNib. In this new contentNib I drag on a tableView and set File's Owner to the TableViewController. I then link the dataSource and delegate to file's owner (which is TableViewController). Surprisingly this does not work and I receive the error: **Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[UIViewController tableView:numberOfRowsInSection:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3b0f910'** This is bewildering to me since the file's owner is the TableViewController, which has been assigned to be both the dataSource and delegate. Does someone have either insight into my confusions, or a link to an example of how to have a compound view include a tableView? *update* I see this in the Apple TableView programming guide: "Note: You should use a UIViewController subclass rather than a subclass of UITableViewController to manage a table view if the view to be managed is composed of multiple subviews, one of which is a table view. The default behavior of the UITableViewController class is to make the table view fill the screen between the navigation bar and the tab bar (if either are present)." <----- I don't really get what this is telling me to do though... if someone can explain or point me to an example I'd be much appreciated!

  • How to do orientation rotation like built-in Calc app?

    I'm trying to make an app that handles orientation/rotation similarly to the way the built-in Calc app does. If you check out that app, in portrait mode there's a normal calculator, and if you rotate to landscape mode there are additional buttons that appear to the left. I can't figure out how to do this by setting the autosize masks. The problem is the "normal" calculator view is 320px wide in portrait mode, but actually shrinks to around 240px in landscape mode to fit the additional controls. I've seen examples like the AlternateViews sample app that have two different view controllers (one for portrait and one for landscape), but they don't seem to animate the transitions between the views nicely like the Calc app does. I've also tried setting the frames for the views manually in willAnimateSecondHalfOfRotationFromInterfaceOrientation, but it doesn't seem to look "quite right" and also I'm not certain how that works with the autoresize mask. Any ideas how this is done? Thanks!

  • Moving UITableView cells and maintaining consistent data

    I've enabled editing mode and moving cells around to allow users to position table view content in the order they please. I'm using Core Data as the data source, which sorts the content by the attribute "userOrder". When content is first inserted, userOrder is set to a random value. The idea is that when the user moves a cell around, the userOrder of that cell changes to accomodate its new position. The following are problems I am running into while trying to accomplish this: Successfully saving the the new location of the cell and adjusting all changed locations of influenced cells. Getting the data to be consistent. For example, the TableView handles the movement fine, but when i click on the new location of the cell, it displays data for the old cell that used to be that location. Data of all influenced cells gets messed up as well. I know I have to implement this in: - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView moveRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)sourceIndexPath toIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)destinationIndexPath {} I just don't know how. The apple docs are not particularly helpful if you are using Core Data, as in my situation. Any guidance greatly appreciated!

    I have been writing a desktop application that uses the Google Drive API v2. I have the following code: var credential = GoogleWebAuthorizationBroker.AuthorizeAsync ( new ClientSecrets { ClientId = ClientID, ClientSecret = ClientSecret }, new[] { DriveService.Scope.Drive }, "user", CancellationToken.None ) .Result; this.Service = new DriveService( new BaseClientService.Initializer() { HttpClientInitializer = credential, ApplicationName = "My Test App", } ); var request = this.Service.Files.List(); request.Q = "title = 'foo' and trashed = false"; var result = request.Execute(); The first time I ran this code it opened a browser and asked me to grant permissions to the App, which I did. Everything worked successfully until I realized I was using the wrong Google account. At that point I logged into the wrong Google account and revoked access to my App. Now, whenever I run the same code it throws an exception: Error:"invalid_grant", Description:"", Uri:"" When I examine the service and request objects, it looks like the oauth_token isn't getting created any more. I know what I did to mess things up, but I can't figure out how to correct it so I can use a different Google account for testing. What do I need to do?

  • why does the gingerbread emulator orientation gets stuck in apps?

    At first I thought this was a problem with my app, but it seems to be happening in any app (though interestingly, not the home screen) in the gingerbread emulator. To replicate my issue, open eclipse and fire up the android emulator for gingerbread (I'm using the "Google APIs - API Level 9" as my target) So the procedure to duplicate once the emulator loads is press LCtrl-F11 to shift orientation to landscape, then again to switch to portrait Result: In the homescreen: The view rotates to landscape, and then back to portrait, as expected In any app (i've tried browser, calculator, maps, and the app i'm currently working on): the view rotates to landscape, and then nothing, it stays in landscape even the emulator is displaying the phone in landscape mode (see below) http://i54.tinypic.com/2ake06v.jpg Has anyone else had this issue, or have I installed the emulator in some incorrect way - this hasn't been an issue with any of the previous emulators

    I'm using Page Control example from Apple. I want to be able to scroll horizontally to certain page and get the sound automatically play when viewing that page? And then sound stop when viewing the other page? So, for example. On page 1, i have some texts. When i go to the next page which is on page 2, i want sound to be automatically play and stop when i go to page 3. I'm planning to use If statements (since it's not that many pages) to determine which page will get the sound. My question is simple. How do you get the sound play automatically when viewing certain page? By the way, I'm planning to use System Sound. I know how to play the sound using button. But how do you get it automatically - start when certain page appear and stop when moving to the next page. Thank you in advance!   • Why is my view controllers view not quadratic?

    I created an UIViewController subclass, and figured out that the default implementation of -loadView in UIViewController will ignore my frame size settings in a strange way. To simplify it and to make sure it's really not the fault of my code, I did a clean test with a plain instance of UIViewController directly, rather than making a subclass. The result is the same. I try to make an exactly quadratic view of 320 x 320, but the view appears like 320 x 200. iPhone OS 3.0, please check this out: UIViewController *ts = [[UIViewController alloc] initWithNibName:nil bundle:nil]; ts.view.frame = CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f, 320.0f, 320.0f); ts.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor cyanColor]; [self.view addSubview:ts.view]; like you can see, I do this: 1) Create a UIViewController instance 2) Set the frame of the view to a quadratic dimension of 320 x 320 3) Give it a color, so I can see it 4) Added it as a subview. Now the part, that's even more strange: When I make my own implementation of -loadView, i.e. if I put this code in there like this: - (void)loadView { UIView *v = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f, 320.0f, 320.0f)]; v.backgroundColor = [UIColor cyanColor]; self.view = v; [v release]; } then it looks right. Now lets think about that: In the first example, I do pretty much exactly the same, just that I let UIViewController create the view on it's own, and then take it over in order to change it's frame. Right? So why do I get this strange error? Right now I see no other way of messing around like that to correct this wrong behavior. I did not activate anything like clipsToBounds and there's no other code touching this.
