• nvidia driver problems after upgrading to 3.2.0-26 on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit

  After installing latest updates I can't set screen resolution higher than 1024x768; every time after the boot I get a message Could not apply the stored configuration for the monitors (Note: removing ~/.config/monitors.xml stopped the message, but not the problem) I can boot with 3.2.0-25 and the graphics look normal. • Randomely loosing wireless connexion with Cubuntu 12.04

  I am presently experiencing random disconnections from my wireless network. It looks like it is more and more frequent (however I have not seen any clear pattern). This is killing me... • No Wireless Networks, BCM4313 [duplicate]

  This question already has an answer here: How to Install Broadcom Wireless Drivers (BCM43xx) 38 answers Just bought this little Asus 10 inch laptop that came with Ubuntu 12.04. Everything at my home was fine: Wireless identified and connected. As soon as I went to my girlfriend's house the trouble started. I couldn't connect to wireless (authentication... times out and asks for authentication) I started doing internet searching, tried a few solutions posted on line using terminal commands. No solutions. I decided to upgraded to 12.10-13.04 and that left me with a worse problem: I can no longer see ANY networks what so ever. Wireless card is ON, with out a doubt. Wired connection works. • Connecting debian and windows via IPsec VPN with Racoon and ipsec-tools

  I've some trouble with the IPsec configuration on my debian server (6 squeeze). This server should connect via IPsec VPN to an windows server, which is protected by an firewall. I've used racoon and ipsec-tools and this tutorial http://wiki.debian.org/IPsec. However, I am not quite sure, if this tutorial fits to my purpose, because of some differences: my Host and my gateway are the same server. So I don't have two different ip addresses. I guess, that's not a problem the other server is an windows system behind a firewall. Hopefully, not a problem the subnet of the windows system is /32 not /24. So I change it to /32. I worked through the tutorial step by step, but I wasn't able to route the ip. The following command didn't work for me: ip route add to 172.16.128.100/32 via XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX src XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX So I tried the following instead: ip route add to 172.16.128.100 .., which obviously not solved the problem. The next problem is the compression. The windows doesn't use a compression, but 'compression_algorithm none;' doesn't work with my racoon. So the current value is 'compression_algorithm deflate;' So my current result looks like this: When I am trying to ping the windows host (ping 172.16.128.100), I receive the following error message from ping: ping: sendmsg: Operation not permitted And racoon logs: racoon: ERROR: failed to get sainfo. After googling for a while I came to no conclusion, what's the solution. Does this error message mean that the first phase of IPsec works? I am thankful for any advice. I guess my configs might be helpful.   I have Debian server with 32 gb memory. And there is apache2, memcached and nginx on this server. Memory load always on maximum. Only 500m free. Most memory leak do MySql. Apache only 70 clients configured, other services small memory usage. When mysql use all memory it stops. And nothing works, need mysql reboot. Mysql configured use maximum 24 gb memory. I have hight weight InnoDB bases. (400000 rows, 30 gb). And on server multithread daemon, that makes many inserts in this tables, thats why InnoDB. There is my mysql config. • Exchange Server 2007 Setup

  Hi, I'm working on a upgrade to Exchange 2007 and I wanted to get some advise on hardware choices. We currently have an Exchange 2003 STD server with 400 users split between 6 AD Sites, that is housed on a single server. We need to move to a redundant, fault tolerant system to support our users. I'm planning on installing 2 Dell 1950 servers with W2k8-std to act as CAS and Hub servers, with NLB to allow abstraction of the actual server name to the users. There won't be an edge system since we have a Barracuda box already that will handle in/out spam/virus filtering. Backend I'm planning on 2 mailbox servers which will be Dell 2950s with 16GB RAM, 2 either dual-core or quad-core CPUs and 6 300GB SAS drives in some RAID config. These systems will be clustered using W2k8 Ent clustering and running CCR in Exchange. My questions are as follows: Is 16GB enough RAM for serving that many mailboxes along with the windows clustering and ccr? I'm trying to figure out disk layouts and I'm unsure of whether to use all local disk or some local and some SAN, via an OpenFiler iSCSI server. The SAN would be a Dell 2850 with 6 - 300GB SCSI drives and a PERC controller to slice as I want, with 8GB RAM. Option 1: 2 drives, RAID 1 - OS 2 drives, RAID 1 - Logs 2 drives, RAID 1 - Mail stores Option 2: 2 drives, RAID 1 - OS and logs 4 drives, RAID 5 - Mail Stores and scratch space for eseutil. Option 3: 2 drives, RAID 1 - OS 2 drives, RAID 1 - Logs 2 drives, RAID 0 - scratch space ~300GB iSCSI volume for mail stores Option 4: 2 drives, RAID 1 - OS 4 drives, RAID 5 - scratch space ~300GB iSCSI volume for mail stores ~300GB iSCSI volume for logs I have 2 sockets for CPUs and need to chose between dual and quad cores. The dual core have faster clocks but less cache and I'm thinking older architecture. Am I better off with more cores and cache while sacraficing clock speed? I am planning on adding the new E2K7 cluster to the E2K3 server and then move each mailbox over, all at once, then remove the old server. This seems more complicated than simply getting rid of the 2003 server and then adding the 2007 cluster and restoring the mailboxes using PowerControls or exmerge. The migration option lets me do this on my time, where a cutover means it all needs to work at once. If I go with the cutover method, how can I prebuild the servers and add them to the domain right after removing the 2003 server, or can't I? I think the answer is no and the migration is my only real option if I want to prebuild. I need to also migrate about 30GB of Public Folders. Is there anything special about this, other than specifying in the E2K7 install that I want older Outlook clients and PF's setup? I guess I could even keep the E2K3 server to host just the PFs? Lastly, if I have a mix of Outlook 200, 2003 and 2007 what do I need to do to make sure they all have access to the GAL and OAB? At time of cutover, we'll be at like 90% 2007, but we will have some older stuff around. My plan is to use Outlook Anywhere on laptops that are used outside the physical network. Are there any gotchas involved in that? I'm even thinking about using is for all Outlook clients, does anyone do that? The reason I'm considering it is that our WAN is really VPN tunnels over internet connections, so not a fully messhed, stable WAN.   I am new to Java and I am running into this issue that I can't figure out. From the debug lines I can see that each parameter has a value. Could it be referring to a bad path to one of the images? Any ideas? For some reason my server won't start in debug mode in Eclipse so I am having trouble figuring this out.

• Issues integrating NCover with CC.NET, .NET framework 4.0 and MsTest

  I'm implementing continuous integration with CruiseControl.NET, .NET 4.0, NCover and MsTest. On the build server I'm unable to run code coverage from the Ncover explorer or NCover console. When I run where vstesthost.exe from the Ncover console it returns the Visual Studio 9.0 path and does not seem to pick up .net framework 4.0. I've followed instructions from this MSTest: Measuring Test Quality With NCover post with slight modifications for .net framework 4.0, without any success.   I want to get data from mysql database with the help of DataImportHandler so i can create indexes. Now I've configured my Solr instance so that it works on Tomcat (the example admin page), but if I try to change the sorlconfig.xml file i'll get the error message. I'm working with Solr 3.6 So my configuration is: In solrconfig.xml i added: <dataDir>${solr.data.dir:/usr/share/tomcat7/solr2}</dataDir> to specify my working directory and then <requestHandler name="/dataimport" class="org.apache.solr.handler.dataimport.DataImportHandler"> <lst name="defaults"> <str name="config">/usr/share/tomcat7/solr2/conf/data-config.xml</str> </lst> </requestHandler> to specify new request handler. Theese two are my lib directives for DIH. • How should I distribute a pre-built perl module, and what version of perl do I build for?

  This is probably a multi-part question. Background: we have a native (c++) library that is part of our application and we have managed to use SWIG to generate a perl wrapper for this library. We'd now like to distribute this perl module as part of our application. My first question - how should I distribute this module? Is there a standard way to package pre-built perl modules? I know there is ppm for the ActiveState distro, but I also need to distribute this for linux systems. I'm not even sure what files are required to distribute, but I'm guessing it's the pm and so files, at a minimum. My next question - it looks like I might need to build my module project for each version of perl that I want to support. How do I know which perl versions I should build for? Are there any standard guidelines... or better yet, a way to build a package that will work with multiple versions of perl? Sorry if my questions make no sense - I'm fairly new to the compiled module aspects of perl. CLARIFICATION: the underlying compiled source is proprietary (closed source), so I can't just ship source code and the appropriate make artifacts for the package. Wish I could, but it's not going to happen in this case. Thus, I need a sane scheme for packaging prebuilt binary files for my module.

• Android: How to keep onItemSelected from firing off on a newly instantiated Spinner

  I've thought of some less than elegant ways to solve this, but I know I must be missing something. My onItemSelected fires off immediately without any interaction with the user, and this is undesired behavior. I wish for the UI to wait until the user selects something before it does anything. I even tried setting up the listener in the onResume, hoping that would help, but it doesn't. How can I stop this from firing off before the user can touch the control?   I can't seem to get JSON.pretty_generate() to actually generate pretty output in Rails. I'm using Rails 2.3.5 and it seems to automatically load the JSON gem. Awesome. While using script/console this does indeed produce JSON: some_data = {'foo' => 1, 'bar' => 20, 'cow' => [1, 2, 3, 4], 'moo' => {'dog' => 'woof', 'cat' => 'meow'}} some_data.to_json => "{\"cow\":[1,2,3,4],\"moo\":{\"cat\":\"meow\",\"dog\":\"woof\"},\"foo\":1,\"bar\":20}" But this doesn't produce pretty output: JSON.pretty_generate(some_data) => "{\"cow\":[1,2,3,4],\"moo\":{\"cat\":\"meow\",\"dog\":\"woof\"},\"foo\":1,\"bar\":20}" The only way I've found to generate it is to use irb and to load the Pure version: require 'rubygems' require 'json/pure' some_data = {'foo' => 1, 'bar' => 20, 'cow' => [1, 2, 3, 4], 'moo' => {'dog' => 'woof', 'cat' => 'meow'}} JSON.pretty_generate(some_data) => "{\n \"cow\": [\n 1,\n 2,\n 3,\n 4\n ],\n \"moo\": {\n \"cat\": \"meow\",\n \"dog\": \"woof\"\n },\n \"foo\": 1,\n \"bar\": 20\n}" BUT, what I really want is Rails to produce this. • findViewById undefined

  Eclipse is marking findViewById(int) as undefined; it was doing the same thing for getResources(), but I was able to get around that by calling context.getResources() instead (as seen below) and can't seem to find a similar workaround for findViewById.   QUESTION: I'm drawing a legend on an axes object in matplotlib but the default positioning which claims to place it in a smart place doesn't seem to work. Ideally, I'd like to have the legend be draggable by the user. How can this be done? SOLUTION: Well, I found bits and pieces of the solution scattered among mailing lists. • How do I use VS2010 One-Click Publish (MsDeploy) to deploy remotely from the command line?

  On the remote web server I have installed the remote service http://x.x.x.x/MsDeployAgentService. If I use the Web Application Project's Publish command in VS2010 I can successfully publish to this remote web server and update a specific IIS website. What I want to do now is execute this capability from the command line. I am guessing it is two steps. First build the web application project using the relevant build configuration: msbuild "C:\MyApplication\MyWebApplication.csproj" /T:Package /P:Configuration=Release Then issue the MsDeploy command to have it publish/sync with the remove IIS server: msdeploy -verb:sync -source:package="C:\MyApplication\obj\Release\Package\MyWebApplication.zip" -dest:contentPath="My Production Website", computerName=http://x.x.x.x/MsDeployAgentService, username=adminuser,password=adminpassword Unfortunately I get an the error: Error: (10/05/2010 3:52:02 PM) An error occurred when the request was processed on the remote computer. Error: Source (sitemanifest) and destination (contentPath) are not compatible for the given operation. Error count: 1. I have tried a number of different combinations for destination provider but no joy :( Has anyone managed to replicate VS2010 Web Application Project "One Click" Publish from the command line?

• how to run pentaho bi-server on CentOS 6.2 and PostgreSQL 8.4.x?

  I'm trying to run an instance of Pentaho's bi-server-ce on a freshly installed CentOS 6.2 using PostgreSQL 8.4.x. I've installed a JDK 1.6 instance and it is working. Also I've a tomcat 6.0.35 instance where I run a few apps. I'd like bi-server to be one of many apps I run on this tomcat. Regarding Pentaho's Bi-Server installation I'm following the guide from https://docs.google.com/document/edit?id=1OnvHYsa-nYgwP8bjqRqjP5Vy-gLI5xomOHZtOvA00Ns#bookmark=id.2d95068df264 I've adapted the steps to my local installation, but still I can't start the server. I do believe it's something related to the postgre user hibuser, but all settings on all files seem to be OK. Also I've a copy of the postgresql jar driver on tomcat's /lib folder. I've run out of ideas, can anyone throw me light here?
