• Sqlite + Java: table not updating

  I'm using a Java wrapper for SQLite called SQLiteJDBC - this may have some bearing on any answers... I have a table which I've displayed in a GUI, within that UI I have a button for the fields for an individual row of that table. When I save my changes I do this... Statement stmt = connection.createStatement(); stmt.execute("update 'tableName' set 'fieldName'=1 where userid=1"); int updateCount = stmt.getUpdateCount(); My connection is valid, I get no exceptions thrown and getUpdateCount() returns '1' indicating that one row has been updated. However my table is not updated. I've spent the last few hours trying to work out what's going on but I'm not having any luck. Help!!

  Hi, I have CakePHP app in which I'd like to attach gallery to multiple resources. Let's say I've got artists, each one has own gallery. I've got articles, every article has some images attached to it and so on. Now I set up tables like this: Artists hasMany Artistimages, fields in artistimages table are: id, artist_id, filename, filetype, filesize etc. Articles hasMany Articleimages, fields in articleimages table are: id, article_id, filename, filetype, filesize etc. ...but this is not how it should be, I think. Is there possibility to have one table called for example uploads which will contain all images with foreign key pointing to resource its reffering to? How to tell CakePHP which image is coming from which resource?

What I want is a small form above the table. How would I that?

  I am adding a new GUID/Uniqueidentifier column to my table. ALTER TABLE table_name ADD VersionNumber UNIQUEIDENTIFIER UNIQUE NOT NULL DEFAULT NEWSEQUENTIALID() GO And when ever a record is updated in the table, I would want to update this column "VersionNumber". So I create a new trigger CREATE TRIGGER [DBO].[TR_TABLE_NAMWE] ON [DBO].[TABLE_NAME] AFTER UPDATE AS BEGIN UPDATE TABLE_NAME SET VERSIONNUMBER=NEWSEQUENTIALID() FROM TABLE_NAME D JOIN INSERTED I ON D.ID=I.ID/* some ID which is used to join*/ END GO But just realized that NEWSEQUENTIALID() can only be used with CREATE TABLE or ALTER TABLE. I got this error The newsequentialid() built-in function can only be used in a DEFAULT expression for a column of type 'uniqueidentifier' in a CREATE TABLE or ALTER TABLE statement. It cannot be combined with other operators to form a complex scalar expression. Is there a workaround for this ? Edit1: Changing NEWSEQUENTIALID() to NEWID() in the trigger solves this, but I am indexing this column and using NEWID() would be sub-optimal

  I have a MySQL table like this: +--------+-------+ + Server + Port + +--------+-------+ + 1 + 27001 + +--------+-------+ + 2 + 27002 + +--------+-------+ + 4 + 27004 + +--------+-------+ How you can see - here was 27003 port - but it was deleted some time ago (just for example). Is there some way to know the minimum value that is not used (higher than 27000 for example) in mysql table? Or there is no way and I need to make an separate table with all ports and column with "used" or "not used" ? Situation explanation: I am creating game hosting website, and I can use auto-increment for ports, but I will have a lot of deleted/unused ports after some time, and I want to use all of them before increasing port range.   Can anyone please tell me why does the following statement inside a given stored procedure returns repeated results even with locks on the rows used by the first SELECT statement? BEGIN TRANSACTION DECLARE @Temp TABLE ( ID INT ) INSERT INTO @Temp SELECT ID FROM SomeTable WITH (ROWLOCK, UPDLOCK, READPAST) WHERE SomeValue <= 10 INSERT INTO @Temp SELECT ID FROM SomeTable WITH (ROWLOCK, UPDLOCK, READPAST) WHERE SomeValue >= 5 SELECT * FROM @Temp COMMIT TRANSACTION Any values in SomeTable for which SomeValue is between 5 and 10 will be returned twice, even though they were locked in the first SELECT. I thought that locks were in place for the whole transaction, and so I wasn't expecting the query to return repeated results. Why is this happening?

  i'm writing a greasemonkey user.js for a page with a table in it. (table is 100 rows by 18 columns.) now what i want to do is to make it sortable on column. and also have it run in both chrome and firefox. all searches for answers sofar resulted in suggestions to use jquery/dojo or something alike. can i be done without any external code? after all it's just a matter of replacing the row's in a different order, right? or is that a silly thing to say? the thing is that i'm already using dojo for some query needs but since i want it to run in both firefox and chrome, i just copy paste the whole dojo thing in my script.. also, most of the solutions i found sofar seem to be more for use when building a table. not for altering an existing one. any help is appreciated.

  On Windows XP, I have a disconnected Wireless connection which shows up in the System Tray. I have gone into Network Connections dialog box and elected not to show an icon when it is disconnected, yet it remains visible. I have gone into the Task bar properties and elected to always hide this icon, but that doesn't remove it from the system tray. How do I remove it? Thanks

I know that I can run DoScan.exe to manually run a scan, and this works fine using a regular user account. Unfortunately, when I try to run DoScan as SYSTEM, the application exits immediately without running a scan. Is there a way that I can get this to work, or another application besides DoScan.exe that I should be using?

• System files not hidden Win XP

  I recently copied my win xp install from one hard to another(via ubuntu live cd) Everything went well, except that all the hidden system files(boot.ini, ntdlr, io.sys) are no longer hidden. I tried this: attrib +s c:/IO.sys No effect. The files are still visible even though the setting to hide system files is checked. Any solutions? Thanks.

  Is there any way to map the A000????.??? filenames in the System Volume Information to their original names, without restoring them? The reason I ask is that several files in one user's System Volume Information RP1 were infected by a rootkit. Although they've been removed, I'd like to be able to figure out what they were originally. A0001253.sys and A0001211.sys are not very helpful names. :) It happened on two systems, one XP SP2, the other XP SP3.

  On Windows 7, the 'system' process is taking up 100% CPU (well 50% on a duel core) for a rather long time. Its CPU usage doesn't seem to drop at all. How can I diagnose this problem? What could be the cause? I don't see any other problems with the system and am using an up-to-date AVG, so I don't yet suspect a maelware.

I thought about union: select * from table where itemId = 196 union select * from table where itemId = 150 but that doesn't cover the ID2 requirement. How should I do that?
