  • doctype syntax error

    Do you see any problem with this: I'm in ASP.net and I'm using pikachoose jquery slideshow. It works fine in IE and was working in Firefox. However, somehow it's now stopped working in firefox and firebug is giving the doctype line above out as a syntax error and $ is not defined for the jquery script? Any ideas Thanks Andy

    What is the best way to link to the icons of websites? Meaning, given a hostname, what src should I put in an <img tag to link to the 16x16 icon? I was just doing http://<hostname>/favicon.ico. It seems some .ico files aren't liked by different browsers. Chrome seems to like them all, but Safari, FF and IE all have problems with various icons. Example page: http://paultarjan.com

  • Calling a function in an iframe from a parent in firefox

    I'm trying to call a function, test(), of an iframe from the parent document using the code subframe.test(); subframe refers correctly to the iframe, alert(subframe) returns [object HTMLIFrameElement], and the function runs in both IE7 and opera (9.23), but not firefox (3.0), chrome (3.0) or safari (3.03 beta windows). I assume these browsers support the functionality, so wondering if perhaps I'm using an incorrect call which IE and Opera support anyway, which wouldn't surprise me.

    My application requires the user to enter their business name, which the application will automatically create into a unique identifier to be used in URLs, ie "Bob's Cafe" will become "bobs-cafe" But if there are duplicate names I would like the application to add a number so if there is already a "bobs-cafe" we will use "bobs-cafe-1" and likewise if there is already a "bobs-cafe-1" we will use "bobs-cafe-2" Ive used explode and also looked at a regular expressions but I dont know the best way to approach this.     "MicroEdition-Profile" can have multiple values separated by space in the JAD file, where as "MicroEdtion-Configuration" can have only one value. According to JTWI specifications, Minimum requirement for MIDP is 2.0, so this gives us only one option (MIDP 2.0) to put in the JAD file Minimum requirement for CLDC is 1.0, so this gives us two options to put in the JAD file ie: CLDC1.0 and CLDC2.0 I can create an application which is compatible with CLDC1.0 and 1.1. Why are multiple values allowed for Profile attribute but only one value is allowed for Configuration attribute?
