Hi,
If I use jquery media plugin WITH swfobject 2.2 I get an 'unknown runtime error' in IE.
It works fine in FF and other browsers.
If i remove swfobject.js then the media works fine as it loads using simple object/embed tags.
But I need to use swfobject as well (for other things).
Has anybody come across this or a fix?
A.
I am developing a c# web application with VS 2008 where I am trying to capture the physical path of the selected file. Using IE, I am finally able to retrieve this now in text variable. But I want to capture this information in string. How do I do this?
Currently I am using:
lb3.Text = Page.Request.PhysicalPath;
And it gives me:
Text = "C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\AddFileToSQL\AddFileToSQL\Default.aspx"
So I got this code
Javascript:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function(){
$('.ajax') .click(function(e){
e.preventDefault()
$('#content').load( 'file.htm' )
})
})
</script>
html:
<a href="file.htm" class="ajax">Link</a>
it works perfectly in firefox, but nothing happens when I click the link in chrome and IE simply opens a new window with the file. any advice?
I did a system test on a new ASP.NET app. I encountered several exceptions when using the BACK button in my browser (IE 7).
I stated in a review-record that the web-app must support the use of a BACK button (or at least handle it gracefully with for example session-time out warnings). The teamlead did not agree with me as he stated that a web-app should not support working with the back-button by default.
Do you agree?
When using Carbon Emacs (v22) from an external application (ex. Unity 3D) files sent to Carbon Emacs would jump to the line number requested by the external application (ie. double click on an error message editor selected in preferences is started with file at error line number). For some reason the new Cocoa Emacs (v23) no longer does this. Instead it simply opens the file, but does not jump to the line number requested by the external application.
hi there
I have an entity and it seems like using DateTime as the Id would be a good suit, however I there is this strange feeling that that it might be a terrible idea ( tho i cant come up with any logical reason as to why),
This is an immutable object ( ie once the value is recorded it shouldn't really change )
So DateTime as id field in NHibernate yay or Nay?
I would appreciate your comments on this

I read about NSLocaleCurrencySymbol, but where would I find the variable used to determine the "number of decimal places" used in a country's currency?
I.E. In the USA, it's common to see dollar amounts written with 2 decimal places: $1.23
What about many other countries?
Thanks.
When using the .NET WebBrowser control how do you open a link in a new window using the the same session (ie.. do not start a new ASP.NET session on the server), or how do you capture the new window event to open the URL in the same WebBrowser control?
Incredably annoyed at the Java Keytool. So much so that I have created a new tag: "SunSuck".
The keytool does not resolve impartial directories. Ie this works:
keytool -keystore "/users/me/Desktop" ...
This doesn't:
keytool -keystore "~/Desktop" ...
Is there something that I could call like this:
keytool -keystore "$(<cmd> ~/Desktop)" ...
Hey All

are there any alternatives to Xpath ? need to locate and extract specific element's texts for web scraping project.
xpath seem pretty limited against layout changes on web pages. slight shuffle, and xpath no longer works. also different browsers have different Xpaths as i discovered. Firefox automatically adds tbody after table, while IE doesn't and so on.
Is it possible to use Javascript to emulate the Add to Home Screen option in Mobile Safari's bookmark menu?
Something similar to IE's window.external.AddFavorite(location.href, document.title); possibly?
I have a billboard.js script running on a simple php file and for some reason it works fine in FF and IE but not Safari. I checked source code it and is pulling the content but the scrolling feature does not work when you click. Can someone please help me. Here is the link to try: www.luc.edu/test/cabplan/soc/test.php
how do you make your software aware of database records changes that was not modifed by your application? (ie it was modified externally, in MS SQL Server Management Studio or other).
Do you do a checksum? and store it somewhere? or what do you do?
I just downloaded the Bing API 2.0 SDK. There are several html files in Bing API 2.0 SDK\Samples\JSON directory. I replaced the AppId in the JavaScript with my new AppId. These pages run fine in IE but I got 'syntax error' in Firefox, Firebug console. Does anyone have similar issues? What is in the page that is causing the 'syntax error'?
Thank you very much.

Hello,
I have a situation where I'd like to set an onload handler for a script element, but it is possible that the script element has already loaded before I do so. If it's already loaded, I'd like to detect that and run my handler immediately.
What would be a reliable way of checking a script element's onload state after the fact?
BTW I know that IE uses readyState instead of an onload event so I don't need help for that.
My application requires the user to enter their business name, which the application will automatically create into a unique identifier to be used in URLs, ie
"Bob's Cafe" will become "bobs-cafe"
But if there are duplicate names I would like the application to add a number so if there is already a "bobs-cafe" we will use "bobs-cafe-1" and likewise if there is already a "bobs-cafe-1" we will use "bobs-cafe-2"
Ive used explode and also looked at a regular expressions but I dont know the best way to approach this.
Im stuck in being able to grab the number and incrementing it and returning the string
var musicsrc="jyothir2.mp3";
if (navigator.appName=="Microsoft Internet Explorer")
document.write('<bgsound src='+'"'+musicsrc+'"'+' loop="infinite">')
else
document.write('<embed src=\"'+musicsrc+'\" hidden="true" border="0" width="20" height="20" autostart="true" loop="infinite">')
friends my javascript( for background music) codes is producing a continuous music in IE but the music is not continuous in other browsers.. can anybody tell me why is it so?
Is there a way to set focus to the embed HTML element using JavaScript? Test case: embedded YouTube videos on a page.
I have no control over the embedded Flash element. So, is there a way to set focus on it by using only JavaScript?
I read somewhere that calling the element.focus() method works only in IE. I need a browser-independent way that works in Chrome/Firefox.
Thanks!
Hi
i want to use HtmlAgilityPack with WebBrowser control, but i have a problem. DOM is different because ie adds tag element after . Why? How i can disable it?
To try to use a reason SSL/TLS session key timeout on the server-side, I'd like to know how long popular browsers cache session keys on the client.
Microsoft describes this information for Windows/IE here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc776467(WS.10).aspx
But, I haven't been able to find similar information for other popular browsers. Does anyone know? Thanks!
