  • JPA 2.0 Provider Hibernate 3.6 for DB2 v9.5 type 2 driver is throwing exception in configuration prepration

    - by Deep Saurabh
The JPA 2.0 Provider Hibernate is throwing exception while preparing configuration for entity manager factory, I am using DB2 v9.5 database and DB2 v9.5 JDBC type 2 driver . java.sql.SQLException: [IBM][JDBC Driver] CLI0626E getDatabaseMajorVersion is not supported in this version of DB2 JDBC 2.0 driver. at COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.SQLExceptionGenerator.throwNotSupportedByDB2(Unknown Source) at COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2DatabaseMetaData.getDatabaseMajorVersion(Unknown Source) at org.hibernate.cfg.SettingsFactory.buildSettings(SettingsFactory.java:117) at org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration.buildSettingsInternal(Configuration.java:2833) at org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration.buildSettings(Configuration.java:2829) at org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration.buildSessionFactory(Configuration.java:1840) at org.hibernate.ejb.Ejb3Configuration.buildEntityManagerFactory(Ejb3Configuration.java:902) at org.hibernate.ejb.HibernatePersistence.createEntityManagerFactory(HibernatePersistence.java:57) at javax.persistence.Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory(Persistence.java:48) at javax.persistence.Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory(Persistence.java:32)

  • What .NET UnmanagedType is Unicode (UTF-16)?

    - by Pat
I am packing bytes into a struct, and some of them correspond to a Unicode string. The following works fine for an ASCII string: [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] private struct PacketBytes { [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.ByValTStr, SizeConst = 64)] public string MyString; } I assumed that I could do [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] private struct PacketBytes { [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPWStr, SizeConst = 32)] public string MyString; } to make it Unicode, but that didn't work. (Since this field is part of a struct with other fields, which I've omitted for clarity, I can't simply change the CharSet of the containing struct.) Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

  • Setting enum values to 4-byte strings - why?

    - by psychotik
I saw code similar to this in the Mac OS SDK: enum { kAudioFileStreamProperty_ReadyToProducePackets = 'redy', kAudioFileStreamProperty_FileFormat = 'ffmt', kAudioFileStreamProperty_DataFormat = 'dfmt', kAudioFileStreamProperty_FormatList = 'flst', kAudioFileStreamProperty_MagicCookieData = 'mgic', kAudioFileStreamProperty_AudioDataByteCount = 'bcnt', kAudioFileStreamProperty_AudioDataPacketCount = 'pcnt', kAudioFileStreamProperty_MaximumPacketSize = 'psze', kAudioFileStreamProperty_DataOffset = 'doff', kAudioFileStreamProperty_ChannelLayout = 'cmap', kAudioFileStreamProperty_PacketToFrame = 'pkfr', kAudioFileStreamProperty_FrameToPacket = 'frpk', kAudioFileStreamProperty_PacketToByte = 'pkby', kAudioFileStreamProperty_ByteToPacket = 'bypk', kAudioFileStreamProperty_PacketTableInfo = 'pnfo', kAudioFileStreamProperty_PacketSizeUpperBound = 'pkub', kAudioFileStreamProperty_AverageBytesPerPacket = 'abpp', kAudioFileStreamProperty_BitRate = 'brat' }; It's the first time I've seen this - I assume the compiler assigns the 32-bit integer equivalent of the strings to the enum values. I cannot think of a single good reason why this might be preferred over using simple integers. It looks hideous in a debugger (how do you tell which of these values corresponds to 1919247481?) and makes debugging just hard in general. So, is there any reason where assigning such strings to enum values actually makes sense.

  • JPA GeneratedValue with GenerationType.TABLE does a big jump after jvm restart

    - by joeduardo
    When I start my server and add an entry, the generated id will start with 1, 2, so on and so forth. After a restart, adding an entry would generate an id like 32,xxx. Another restart and adding of entry would generate an id like 65,xxx. I don't know why this is happening. Here's a snippet of the annotation I'm using for my id. I'm using Hibernate. @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.TABLE) private Long id;

  • Size of a class with 'this' pointer

    - by psvaibhav
The size of a class with no data members is returned as 1 byte, even though there is an implicit 'this' pointer declared. Shouldn't the size returned be 4 bytes(on a 32 bit machine)? I came across articles which indicated that 'this' pointer is not counted for calculating the size of the object. But I am unable to understand the reason for this. Also, if any member function is declared virtual, the size of the class is now returned as 4 bytes. This means that the vptr is counted for calculating the size of the object. Why is the vptr considered and 'this' pointer ignored for calculating the size of object?

  • android RegEx external GPS string

    - by user1271363
I have a problem with seperating information in a string i get from the external GPS stream. Heres a example of a string: $GPGSV,3,3,12,22,09,276,31,25,24,247,24,27,54,131,,32,04,359,19*71 $GPGLL,5703.85365,N,00953.88360,E,075510.00,A,A*69 $GPPWR,028a,1,0,1,1 $GPRMC,075511.00,A,5703.85369,N,00953.88430,E,0.335,302.17,070912,,,A*6E $GPVTG,302.17,T,,M,0.335,N,0.621,K,A*3A Want i am trying to do is to get the " $GPGLL,5703.85365,N,00953.88360,E,075510.00,A,A*69 " out so i can grab the longtitude and latitude and then update my textview with it. But keep getting string out of bounch exeption and i start wondering if i am handling this in the wrong way. Anyone that can put me in the right direction in how to solve this?

  • Swap byte 2 and 4 from integer

    - by czar x
I had this interview question - Swap byte 2 and byte4 within an integer sequence. Integer is a 4byte wide i.e. 32 bits My approach was to use char *pointer and a temp char to swap the bytes. For clarity i have broken the steps otherwise an character array can be considered. unsigned char *b2, *b4, tmpc; int n = 0xABCD; b2 = &n; b2++; b4 = &n; b4 +=3; ///swap the values; tmpc = *b2; *b2 = *b4; *b4 = tmpc; Any other methods?

  • Can I run Visual Studio 2008 x86 on Windows Vista x64?

    - by TheCodeJunkie
Hi, Is it possible to run the 32-bit version of Visual Studio 2008 Professional on a Windows Vista 64-bit system? Are there any known caveats that I would need to be aware of? Would have to install the x64 version of the .NET Framework? Would there be any issues on building software targeted for x86? Would there be any (justifiable) arguments for getting the x64 version of VS2008 instead of reusing the current x86 license? Quite tempted on getting a x64 Vista rig to be able to take advantage of more RAM :)

  • What is the most efficient method to find x contiguous values of y in an array?

    - by Alec
Running my app through callgrind revealed that this line dwarfed everything else by a factor of about 10,000. I'm probably going to redesign around it, but it got me wondering; Is there a better way to do it? Here's what I'm doing at the moment: int i = 1; while ( ( (*(buffer++) == 0xffffffff && ++i) || (i = 1) ) && i < desiredLength + 1 && buffer < bufferEnd ); It's looking for the offset of the first chunk of desiredLength 0xffffffff values in a 32 bit unsigned int array. It's significantly faster than any implementations I could come up with involving an inner loop. But it's still too damn slow.

  • Multiple levels of 'collection.defaultdict' in Python

    - by Morlock
Thanks to some great folks on SO, I discovered the possibilities offered by collections.defaultdict, notably in readability and speed. I have put them to use with success. Now I would like to implement three levels of dictionaries, the two top ones being defaultdict and the lowest one being int. I don't find the appropriate way to do this. Here is my attempt: from collections import defaultdict d = defaultdict(defaultdict) a = [("key1", {"a1":22, "a2":33}), ("key2", {"a1":32, "a2":55}), ("key3", {"a1":43, "a2":44})] for i in a: d[i[0]] = i[1] Now this works, but the following, which is the desired behavior, doesn't: d["key4"]["a1"] + 1 I suspect that I should have declared somewhere that the second level defaultdict is of type int, but I didn't find where or how to do so. The reason I am using defaultdict in the first place is to avoid having to initialize the dictionary for each new key. Any more elegant suggestion? Thanks pythoneers!

  • How do you specify a 64 bit unsigned int const 0x8000000000000000 in VS2008?

    - by Mark Franjione
I read about the Microsoft specific suffix "i64" for integer constants. I want to do an UNsigned shift to a ULONGLONG. ULONGLONG bigNum64 = 0x800000000000000i64 >> myval; In normal C, I would use the suffix "U", e.g. the similar 32 bit operation would be ULONG bigNum32 = 0x80000000U >> myval; I do NOT want the 2's complement sign extension to propogate through the high bits. I want an UNSIGNED shift on a 64 bit const number. I think my first statement is going to do a SIGNED shift right. I tried 0x800000000000000i64U and 0x800000000000000u64 but got compiler errors.

  • C Newbie, ascii control function

    - by user570607
Hey there, I have written a program that works well in C that converts non-readable ASCII to their character values. I would appreciate if a C master? would show me a better way of doing it that I have currently done, mainly this section: if (isascii(ch)) { switch (ch) { case 0: printControl("NUL"); break; case 1: printControl("SOH"); break; .. etc (32 in total) case default: putchar(ch); break; } } Is it normal to make a switch that big? Or should I be using some other method (input from an ascii table?)

  • C program giving incorrect output for simple math!

    - by DuffDuff
(all are declared as ints, none are initialized to anything beforehand. I have included math.h and am compiling with -lm) cachesize = atoi(argv[1]); blocksize = atoi(argv[3]); setnumber = (cachesize/blocksize); printf("setnumber: %d\n", setnumber); setbits = (log(setnumber))/(log(2)); printf("sbits: %d\n", setbits); when given cachesize as 1024 and blocksize as 16 the output is as follows: setnumber: 64 sbits: 5 but log(64)/log(2) = 6 ! It works correctly when given cachesize 512 and blocksize 32. I can't seem to win. I'm really hoping that it's a stupid mistake on my part, and I'd be grateful if anyone could point out what it is! Thank you! PS: I posted this in Yahoo Answers first but that was probably silly. Won't be doing that again.

  • Has anyone ever had OpenCV to work with Python on MacOS?

    - by ?????
I've been trying on and off for the past 6 months to get OpenCV to work with Python on MacOS. Every time there's a new release, I try again and fail. I've tried both 64-bit and 32-bit, and both the xcode gcc and gcc installed via macports. I just spend the past two days on it, hopeful that the latest OpenCV release, that appears to include Python support directly would work. It doesn't. I've also tried and failed to use this: http://code.google.com/p/pyopencv/ I've been using OpenCV with C++ or Microsoft C++/CLI for the past few years, but I'd love to use it with Python on a Mac because that is my primary development environment. I'd love to hear from anyone who's actually done this.

  • mysql++ compile error

    - by rizzo0917
when i complie code that includes mysql headers i get the following errors: c:\qt\2010.03\mingw\bin../lib/gcc/mingw32/4.4.0/../../../../include/stdint.h:27: error: 'int8_t' has a previous declaration as 'typedef signed char int8_t' c:\qt\2010.03\mingw\bin../lib/gcc/mingw32/4.4.0/../../../../include/stdint.h:31: error: 'int32_t' has a previous declaration as 'typedef int int32_t' c:\qt\2010.03\mingw\bin../lib/gcc/mingw32/4.4.0/../../../../include/stdint.h:32: error: 'uint32_t' has a previous declaration as 'typedef unsigned int uint32_t' Literally all I do is this. include cppconn/driver.h include cppconn/exception.h include cppconn/resultset.h include cppconn/statement.h include Now I can go into the file and comment the lines out that give me errors //typedef signed char int8_t; //typedef int int32_t; //typedef unsigned uint32_t; It compiles, but when I try to run the mysql code: sql::Driver *driver; driver = get_driver_instance(); I get this output test.exe exited with code -1073741515 Any Ideas?

  • Select rows where column LIKE dictionary word

    - by Gerve
I have 2 tables: Dictionary - Contains roughly 36,000 words CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `dictionary` ( `word` varchar(255) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`word`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1; Datas - Contains roughly 100,000 rows CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `datas` ( `ID` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `hash` varchar(32) NOT NULL, `data` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `length` int(11) NOT NULL, `time` int(11) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`ID`), UNIQUE KEY `hash` (`hash`), KEY `data` (`data`), KEY `length` (`length`), KEY `time` (`time`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=105316 ; I would like to somehow select all the rows from datas where the column data contains 1 or more words. I understand this is a big ask, it would need to match all of these rows together in every combination possible, so it needs the best optimization. I have tried the below query, but it just hangs for ages: SELECT `datas`.*, `dictionary`.`word` FROM `datas`, `dictionary` WHERE `datas`.`data` LIKE CONCAT('%', `dictionary`.`word`, '%') AND LENGTH(`dictionary`.`word`) > 3 ORDER BY `length` ASC LIMIT 15 I have also tried something similar to the above with a left join, and on clause that specified the like statement.

  • Best way to have unique key over 500M varchar(255) records in mysql/innodb?

    - by taw
I have url column with unique key over it - but its performance on updates is absolutely atrocious. I suspect that's because the index doesn't all fit in memory. So I was thinking, how about adding a column of md5(url) with 16 bytes of binary data and unique-keying that instead. What would be the best datatype for that? I'd love to be able to just see 32-character hex hash, while mysql would convert it to/from 16 binary bytes and index that, as programs using the database might have some troubles with arbitrary binary data that I'd rather avoid if possible (also I'm a bit afraid that mysql might get some strange ideas about character sets and for example overalocating storage for that by 3:1 because it thinks it might need utf8, how do I avoid that for cure?).

  • Handle CSliderCtl messages placed on a CDialogBar

    - by user173438
VS2008, 32 Bit Win XP In a class derived from CFrameWnd, I have an object of CDialogBar that needs to have certain controls on it. Among these controls would be 2 sliders, whose event handling is to be done in CFrameWnd derived class. How shall I go about this? class CFrameWndCustom : public CFrameWnd { CDialogBar m_wndDialogBar; // the CDialogBar object. } In CFrameWnd derived class's OnCreateClient, I have created the DialogBar using the above object like: //Create the DialogBar if (!m_wndDialogBar.Create(this, IDD_DIALOGBAR_CONTROL, CBRS_BOTTOM, IDD_DIALOGBAR_CONTROL)) { TRACE("Warning: Couldn't create DialogBar Control!\n"); return FALSE; } Here, IDD_DIALOGBAR_CONTROL is a dialog resource with Style as Child. After this, I drag-dropped a CSliderCtrl on the IDD_DIALOGBAR_CONTROL in Resource View. Now, how/where should I handle the CSliderCtrl's events? There would be 2 such slider controls. I finally need the values of the sliders in CFrameWndCustom class. best regards, Divya

  • Find all possible partitions of n elements with k-sized subsets, where two elements share same set o

    - by ypnos
I have n=32 elements that need to be partitioned into 8 sets, each set has to hold exactly k=4 elements. I need to find all possible partitions with the constraint that each pair of elements only shares the same set once. So if I start with [1 2 3 4] [5 6 7 8] [...], all consecutive partitions cannot hold e.g. [1 2 X X] or [X X 1 3]. sets are unordered. Close to this problem are the stirling numbers of the second kind. However, they only solve the problem for arbitrarily sized sets.

  • JBoss 4.0.5 startup takes 15 minutes deploying a single war file

    - by dkblinux98
This instance of JBoss deploys several war files. The rest of the JBoss startup takes about 5 minutes or less. But when it gets to one particular war file, startup just hangs with no further output to the jboss log. It waits there for about 15 minutes and then suddenly the war starts deploying. The rest of the JBoss startup is then fine. What I want to know is what steps do you recommend I take to diagnose the cause of this condition? It is not possible to upgrade this site to a newer version of JBoss nor java (currently 1.5.0.7). It is running on 32-bit CentOS 5.3 Linux on 3 xen-based virtual servers in a load balanced configuration. The code is common to all three servers via an nfs share. This same issue was seen, however, when the 3 servers were physical and the code was local to each server. The servers are each 2 cpu, 4GB RAM servers.

  • 16 millisecond quantization when sending/receivingtcp packets

    - by MKZ
Hi, I have a C++ application running on windows xp 32 system sending and receiving short tcp/ip packets. Measuring (accurately) the arrival time I see a quantization of the arrival time to 16 millisecond time units. (Meaning all packets arriving are at (16 )xN milliseconds separated from each other) To avoid packet aggregation I tried to disable the NAGLE algorithm by setting the IPPROTO_TCP option to TCP_NODELAY in the socket variables but it did not help I suspect that the problem is related to the windows schedular which also have a 16 millisecond clock.. Any idea of a solution to this problem ? Thanks

  • Permission error while trying to access an (server) program started by a Java program.

    - by Zardoz
I am starting a server application (normally to be started from the Unix command line) by using Runtime.getRuntime().exec("path/mmserver"). My problem is now that as long as my Java program, which started that server runs, the server is correctly accessible (from command line and other programs). But when my Java program exits the sever is not accessible anymore (the process of the server is still running). I just get such a error message when trying to access the server: "Error: permission_error(flush_output(user_output),write,stream,user_output,errno(32))". The server is a blackbox for me. I am just looking for other ways to start a new process. And maybe someone has a hint why I get that permission error (even if one doesn't know what that server exactly is ... you rather won't know it).
