• Upgrading PEAR in command prompt: "Error:Failed to mkdir C:\..."

  I've just installed PEAR into WAMP attempting to follow this article. It all seems to have gone okay but when I type "pear upgrade" into the command prompt I get this error: ERROR: failed to mkdir c:\php\pear\docs\Archive_Tar\docs It is looking on the wrong drive (and missing a subdirectory in that path by the looks of it). It should be looking for D:\php\php5.3.13\pear\docs\Archive_Tar\docs When specifying installation directories I chose ones on the D:\ and thats where the folder structure is, the include_path in both php.ini locations have also been updated. I've also reset the WAMP server after making the changes. How do I set it to look / install the package in the right place?

  Lets say I have a 7 by 7 neighborhood around a pixel that looks like this 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 and I wanna filter the above by replacing the pixel p by the average of those pixels whose value lie in the range -10<=p_value <=10. I am new to image processing and I think in this case p_value is 25 and around 25 that are many pixel values in that range but don't exactly know to construct a convolution filter out of it.

  I am having this unexplained NoMethodError with undefined method `events' for #. I don't know why since my model association are well defined and the event table has the foreign keys for the user table. • How do I use an enum with custom values for a Sharepoint Web part?

  I'm trying to design a Web Part that has a drop-down list for the user to choose from. Eventually, these values will be automatically generated based on some kind of outside data source, so they're going to have somewhat arbitrary numeric values associated with them. This is the code I have now: public enum filterChoice { All=0, BOCC=12, Sustainability=15, Clerk=4, DA=13, Emergency=7, Highlights=3, POS=6, PR=1, PH=5, SHPR=2, Test=8, Transportation=14, Volunteer=16 }; These are different categories I want the user to choose from. When I choose one and save the settings for my Web Part, Sharepoint is only saving the values in numeric order; that is, All=0, BOCC=1, Sustainability=3 [...] so my Web Part then thinks the user chose the value with the corresponding number (PR when they chose BOCC, Highlights when they chose Sustainability, etc.) How can I make Sharepoint honor my custom values?

• Help with a cryptic error message with KGDB - Bogus trace status reply from target: E22

  Hi, I'm using gdb to connect to a 2.6.31.13 linux kernel patched with KGDB over Ethernet, and when I try to detach the debugger I get this: (gdb) quit A debugging session is active. Inferior 1 [Remote target] will be killed. Quit anyway? (y or n) y Bogus trace status reply from target: E22 after that the session is still open, I can keep going on and on with ctrl+d, and the debugger doesn't exit. I've searched for that message in google and there are just 5 results (and none of them are useful :-/ ). Any idea of what could it be and how to fix it?

Any recommendations for getting bootstrapped? To clarify -- I don't need an "into to programming" book.   Hello, I have a file with lines having some fields delimited by "|". I have to extract the lines that are identical based on some of the fileds (i.e. find lines which contain the same values for fields 1,2,3 12,and 13) Other fields contents have no importance for searching but the whole extracted lines have to be complete. Can anyone tell me how I can do that in KSH scripting (By exemple a script with some arguments (order dependent) that define the fileds separator and the fields which have to be compared to find duplicates lines in input file ) Thanks in advance and kind regards Oli

  We have seen a strange issue on some Windows XP machines involving the "Co-ordinated Universal Time" time zone. Not all Windows XP machines seem to have it, but on those that do, the following simple Java program public class TimeTest { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println(java.util.TimeZone.getDefault()); System.out.println(new java.util.Date()); } } on JDK 1.6.0_06 prints: sun.util.calendar.ZoneInfo[id="America/Caracas",offset=-16200000,dstSavings=0,useDaylight=false,transitions=5,lastRule=null] Fri Nov 13 05:34:14 VET 2009 (i.e. 4 and a half hours behind GMT). I should add that I am based in London, and have never been to South America. :-) My questions are: Where does Java get this time zone from? I thought Co-ordinated Universal Time was supposed to be the new name for GMT. Why do some Windows machines have this time zone but not others?

  Im sure if the title is exactly what I am trying to describe so sorry if it isnt. Ok here is what i am trying to do: What i want to do is create a function that you can enter unlimited ammount of coordinates ( the blue dots) and then it will create a shape like so and then return all coordinates the shape covers. Because this is for working with pixels, there will be no decimal coordinates. Here is some sample code... 0 1 a 1 2 b 2 c 3 1 10 begin 11 . load a, subtract b and offset by -1 for jump+ 11 load M(0) 12 sub M(1) 13 sub M(3) 14 halt Using c++, I need to be able to read these lines and store them in a "memory register" class that I already have constructed... For example, the first line would need to store "1 a" in register zero. How can I parse out the number at the line beginning and then store the rest as a string? I have setup storage using a class that is called using mem.set(int, string);. int is the memory location at the beginning of the line and string is the stored instruction.

  I'm having trouble with mysql. I can read and write, but now I want to add some fields to a table. I run this command: ALTER TABLE Pubs ADD COLUMN issue tinyint AFTER volume; but get this error message: ERROR 7 (HY000): Error on rename of './user_acct/Pubs.MYI' to './user_acct/#sql2-cb0-76f2.MYI' (Errcode: 13) I created this table a few months ago, modified it a little bit, so it worked then. I can still update and insert items, but I just can't modify the table anymore. Any help would be appreciated. --Dave

• What did they program this toy with?

  A rather strange question: I'm often asking myself with what programming languages things were created. I recently found this toy mini computer I played with when I was 13 or so at home. (Note: It is not one of those toy "notebooks", it's really small and came as an extra with a magazine) "Features": Hadware: LCD with a small field of pixels where the games were going on, besides that some stats such as score, highscore etc. Sounds and horrible music when started A really small "keyboard" with a wire Software: At least 14 or so games, from Snake over Tetris and Breakdown to some abomination of a car racing game A calculator Game selecting menu An alarm clock Inside there is a really small circuit board, I don't want to open the thing up now, though. Can you imagine if the games and "Operating System" of this thing where actually programmed using a language? If yes, what language could it be? If not with a programming language, how else was it created?

  I've got a script that is a notify_url from paypal that is supposed to update multiple tables in my database using the following code: //update first table $this-db-where('someid', $somid); $this-db-update('table', $data); ///update second table $this-db-where('somesecondid', $somesecondid) $this-db-update('anothertable', $data2); Then I get the following error: Unknown column 'somesecondid' in 'where clause' UPDATE anothertable SET avail = 0 WHERE someid = '13' AND somesecondid = '199' So codeigniter is combining those where clauses into a single query. Is there a way to unset the first one so it only has "UPDATE anothertable SET avail=0 WHERE somesecondid = 199" ? Thanks!

  Hi, I'm currently adding verbose tooltips to our site, and I'd like (without having to resort to a whizz-bang jQuery plugin, I klnow there are many!) to use carriage returns to format the tooltip. To add the tip I'm using the 'title' attribute. I've looked around the usual sites and using the basic template of: <a title='Tool?Tip?On?New?Line' >link with tip</a> I've tried replacing the '?' with: <br /> &013; / &#13; \r\n Environment.NewLine (I'm using C#) Neither work.
