  • Internet Explorer and onMouseOver/onMouseOut

    - by Thorbjørn Reimann-Andersen
Hi all, I have tried looking a similar question on here but couldnt find one so here it comes: I have this html (ignore the "+whatever+@", its in a codebehind file so im putting some variables that im getting from there): <div id='ReferenceContainer"+UniqueID+@"' style='background-color:"+BackcolourOFF+@"; width:"+CompWidth+@"; height:"+CompHeight+@";'> <div id='Reference"+UniqueID+@"' style='width:"+CompWidth+@"; height:"+CompHeight+@"; '> <div id='RefTextContainer"+UniqueID+@"' style='float:left; width:"+CompWidth+@"; height:"+CompHeight+@"; ' > <div id='RefTitleCon' style='margin-top:"+RefTitleMargin+@"px; color:"+RefTitleColor+@"; z-index:-1;' ><p><b>"+RefTitle+@"</b></p> </div> <div id='RefTextCon'><p>"+RefText+@"</p></div> </div> <div id='RefPicContainer"+UniqueID+@"' style='float:right;'> <img id='RefImg"+UniqueID+@"first' class='first' name='RefImg"+UniqueID+@"' src=" + StartImg + @" style='position:absolute;' ></img> <img id='RefImg"+UniqueID+@"second' class='second' name='RefImg"+UniqueID+@"' src=" + AltImg + @" style='display:none;' ></img> </div> </div> <div id='ScriptContainer"+UniqueID+@"' style='width:"+CompWidth+@"; height:"+CompHeight+@"; position:relative; top:-"+CompHeight+@"px; left:0px;' onMouseOver='ChangeBackcolourON"+UniqueID+@"()' onMouseOut='ChangeBackcolourOFF"+UniqueID+@"()'></div> </div> Now in firefox, everything works just perfect. The div "ScriptContainer" sits in front of the whole thing and when the mouse enters or leaves the functions work exactly as they should. But IE8 places the text in front of everything and then the functions do not work as i would like them to. "ChangeBackcolourOFF" gets called every time the mouse enters the text, which sits in front of everything and "ChangeBackcolourON" gets called every time the mouse enters the "Scriptcontainer" from the text. So i either need to figure out how to force the text to be placed behind the "Scriptcontainer" or some other solutions. I appreciate you answers

  • What happens in memory when a C++ class is instantiated

    - by Jo Bucher
I'm interested in the nuts and boltw of C++ and I wondered what actually changes when an object is instantiated. I'm particularly interested if the functions are then added to memory, if they are there from runtime or if they are never stored in memory at all. If anyone could direct me to a good site on some of the core bolts of C and C++, I'd love that too. Thanks, Jo

  • How to properly read 16 byte unsigned integer with BinaryReader

    - by Brent
I need to parse a binary stream in .NET to convert a 16 byte unsigned integer. I would like to use the BinaryReader.ReadUIntXX() functions but there isn't a BinaryReader.ReadUInt128() function available. I assume I will have to roll my own function using the ReadByte function and build an array but I don't know if this is the most efficient method? Thanks!

  • Operator Overloading in C

    - by Leif Andersen
In C++, I can change the operator on a specific class by doing something like this: MyClass::operator==/*Or some other operator such as =, >, etc.*/(Const MyClass rhs) { /* Do Stuff*/; } But with there being no classes (built in by default) in C. So, how could I do operator overloading for just general functions? For example, if I remember correctly, importing stdlib.h gives you the - operator, which is just syntactic sugar for (*strcut_name).struct_element. So how can I do this in C? Thank you.

  • What are the differences and similarities between the .NET languages?

    - by froadie
I'm trying to figure out how much overlap there is between the different languages of the .NET framework, and what the real differences are. Is there an overlap of libraries/methods/functions...? If I'm googling a question for, say, VB .NET, and C# answers come up, what can I take from the C#-relevant info and what differences/incompatibilities should I look out for?

  • Lightweight jQuery ColorPicker bound to input and with popup selector

    - by Scott B
I've found two jQuery colorpickers that I'm considering using in my app. I have a simple input field that I'm asking users to supply a hex color to. I'd like to use jPicker's "Binded" example, however, the overall size of the jPicker is a bit more than I'd like to add to my app. So that sent me searching and I found a very nifty little compact picker called "Farbtastic", which does exactly what I want with one major exception: It appears to be an inline only solution (meaning, I can't call it in the same manner as jPicker's binded example. Can someone tell me how I might convert Farbtastic to mimic jPicker's binded example? More specifically, I'm looking to place a colorpicker widget (the small color frame icon as in the jPicker example) next to my input field so that it displays the currently selected color, and when clicked, it opens up the color palette widget.

  • Image rendering on browser or temporary images?

    - by Muralha
I'm trying to make a statistics page where it will show several data and charts. The charts need to be pictures so that the user can save it/drag-and-drop to his/her personal reports. I'm using Gruff Graphs for Ruby to produce the charts but I don't know the best way to display the results safe and protected. Some of my ideas/tries are: save the chart to a file (jpg, png)? problem: data is available to anyone (don't have access to cron, to delete data from time to time) render in the browser (has to work on IE)? Use javascript (Raphaël—JavaScript Library) or Google API and output a PDF report (need plugin or gem, right)? use send_data? i've tried to output other way than inline, because I needs to show other data, is it possible? Thanks for any help.

  • breakdown c++ code size

    - by Evan Rogers
I'm looking for a nice stackoverflow-style answer to the first question in this old blog post, which I'll repeat below: "I’d really like some tool (ideally, g++ based) that shows me what parts of compiled/linked code are generated from what parts of C++ source code. For instance, to see whether a particular template is being instantiated for hundreds of different types (fixable via a template specialization) or whether code is being inlined excessively, or whether particular functions are larger than expected."

  • http/html/ajax: show result before site is completely processed

    - by chris
hi! I am looking for a way to show in a webapp in front of a task a wait-message and after it hide the message. The task is running a longer time. I dont know if it is possible at all. The problem is, so far I can see, that the site will be returned to the users browser AFTER the task is completed because the task is part of the site as a inline code replaces by the webserver interpreter (no matter if php, perl or whatever). The only solution I can imagine is to parallel the task with threads or processes and requery the state with ajax in the website. Any idea to do it less complex? Thanks for help! regards chris

  • Creating a spam list with a web crawler in python

    - by user313623
Hey guys, I'm not trying to do anything malicious here, I just need to do some homework. I'm a fairly new programmer, I'm using python 3.0, and I having difficulty using recursion for problem-solving. I've been stuck on this question for quite a while. Here's the assignment: Write a recursive method spam(url, n) that takes a url of a web page as input and a non-negative integer n, collects all the email address contained in the web page and adds them to a global dictionary variable spam_dict, and then recursively calls itself on every http hyperlink contained in the web page. You will use a dictionary so only one copy of every email address is save; your dictionary will store (key, value) pairs (email, email). The recursive call should use the parameter n-1 instead of n. If n = 0, you should collect the email addresses but no recursive calls should be made. The parameter n is used to limit the recursion to at most depth n. You will need to use the solutions of the two above problems; you method spam() will call the methods links2() and emails() and possibly other functions as well. Notes: 1. running spam() directly will produce no output on the screen; to find your spam_dict, you will need to read the value of spam_dict, and you will also need to reset it to the empty dictionary before every run of spam. 2. Recall how global variables are used. Usage: spam_dict = {} spam('http://reed.cs.depaul.edu/lperkovic/csc242/test1.html',0) spam_dict.keys() dict_keys([]) spam_dict = {} spam('http://reed.cs.depaul.edu/lperkovic/csc242/test1.html',1) spam_dict.keys() dict_keys(['[email protected]', '[email protected]']) So far, I've written a function that traverses web pages and puts all the links in a nice little list, and what I wanted to do was call that functions. And why would I use recursion on a dictionary? And how? I don't understand how n ties into all of this. def links2(url): content = str(urlopen(url).read()) myparser = MyHTMLParser() myparser.feed(content) lst = myparser.get() mergelst = [] for link in lst: mergelst.append(urljoin(lst[0],link)) print(mergelst) Any input (except why spam is bad) would be greatly appreciated. Also, I realize that the above function could probably look better, if you have a way to do it, I'm all ears. However, all I need is the point is for the program to produce the proper output.

Unfortunately, the openssldump utility is not present on windows platforms. Thank you.

Is there any way to generate an entropy to consistently use for the DPAPI functions with out hardcoding/storing them? Thanks Tony
