• Vertical Image Border Changes Alignment when Screen is not maximized

  I have some pretty straightforward HTML code with a few tables to organize various items of text or images. All works fine except that I need to place a vertical border on both the left and right sides of the screen. I am able to do this with a 2x2 pixel image that I stretch out. When the user has their screen maximized, everything looks great. But when the user hits "Restore Down", then the borders stay in place, but the tables get shoved down so that they start below where the borders end, which is off screen. in other words, the relational alignment between the borders and the tables gets all screwed up. Does anybody know how to make this alignment stay consistent on a restore down? I'm pretty much a newbie with html and asp, so speak slowly. If there is a better method to accomplish this, I'm all ears. Thanks. • Text over floated images

  I need to put some text over a series of images in a gallery. I found many tutorials about the text part however the images need to be floated. Whenever I add float:left though the trick no longer works. • Increase width of divs, displayed side by side, using draggable events

  I have two divs of fixed length as of now, which loads external URL by dynamically embedding iframes inside them. Divs are appearing next to each other - one on left and other right. As of now, I have fixed their width to 50% each. But, I want to give user a flexibility to increase the width of any div to view the URL inside easily without scrolling horizontally. Something like dragging the border separating the two divs to either left or right according to his need. Is there a way I could achieve this? Please suggest any library or something. I have gone through a library twentytwenty which is used for images. I don't know how will that work for dynamic iframes. • Mysql 100% CPU + Slow query

  I'm using the RDS database from amazon with a some very big tables, and yesterday I started to face 100% CPU utilisation on the server and a bunch of slow query logs that were not happening before. • Browser relative positioning with jQuery and CutyCapt

  I've been using CutyCapt to take screen shots of several web pages with great success. My challenge now is to paint a few dots on those screen shots that represent where a user clicked. CutyCapt goes through a process of resizing the web page to the scroll width before taking a screen shot. That's extremely useful because you only get content and not much (if any) of the page's background. My challenge is trying to map a user's mouse X coordinates to the screen shot. Obviously users have different screen resolutions and have their browser window open to different sizes. The image below shows 3 examples with the same logo. Assume, for example, that the logo is 10 pixels to the left edge of the content area (in red). In each of these cases, and for any resolution, I need a JavaScript routine that will calculate that the logo's X coordinate is 10. Again, the challenge (I think) is differing resolutions. In the center-aligned examples, the logo's position, as measured from the left edge of the browser (in black), differs with changing browser size. The left-aligned example should be simple as the logo never moves as the screen resizes. Can anyone think of a way to calculate the scrollable width of a page? In other words, I'm looking for a JavaScript solution to calculate the minimum width of the browser window before a horizontal scroll bar shows up. Thanks for your help!

  Hi! I use Borland Pascal 7.0, and I would like to make a slots game (If 3 random numbers are the same, you win). The problem is that when I click on the start (Inditas) button on the menu, the procedure executes many times until I release the mouse button. I was told that I should check if the mouse button is released before executing the procedure once. How can I do that? • ipad tabbar rotation

  hi, please help with this noob questions but really making me go crazy if I create a project from scratch (using windows based app) for the ipad, and add a tabbar , with firstviewController, and secondviewController, it works fine, starts in landscape mode, but in info.plist I set it to Landscape(left home button), but really in simulator starts with the button on the right side! in the FirstViewController.m (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { if (interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeLeft || interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight) return YES; else { return NO; }} so it starts in landscape, and rotates as the simulator rotates, but if I create a template app for iphone tabbar, set the info.plist Initial interface orientation Landscape (left home button) and add the code above, IT DOESNT WORK!!! simulator starts with button at left but tab bar on the side, same problem that I had with an app that Im porting from iphone to ipad, (landscape intended) I get to the landscape start mode, but the tab bar remains on the side! also the only way to make the old ported app to show the simulator on the side was with UIInterfaceOrientation UIIntefaceOrientationLandscapeLeft (didnt work with Initial interface orientation), does not let me choose the value for the key, but it shows the simulator on landscape,, so,, what can I do please to show the tab bar on landscape mode??? the tabbar from scratch was made to see if the code will work , but it didnt?? why does it work in the tab bar made from windows app and not tab bar app? I just want the tab bar to show in landscape ahhh, thanks

• operators computing direction

  Hi all! I enqunterd something that I can't understand. I have this code: cout << "f1 * f1 + f2 * f1 - f1 / f2 is: "<< f1 * f1 + f2 * f1 - f1 / f2 << endl; All the "f"s are objects, and all the operators are overloaded. The weird this is that the first computarion is of the "/" operator, then the second "" and then the first "", after that - the operator "+" and at last - operator "-". So basicly - the "/" and "*" worked from right to left, and the "+" and "-" operators worked from left to right. I made another test... I checked this code: cout << "f1 * f1 / f2 is: " << f1 * f1 / f2 << endl; Now, the first operator was "*" and only then oerator "/". So now, it worked from left to right. Can someone help me underatand why is there diffrence in the directions? 10X!

• Rapid calls to fread crashes the application

  I'm writing a function to load a wave file and, in the process, split the data into 2 separate buffers if it's stereo. The program gets to i = 18 and crashes during the left channel fread pass. (You can ignore the couts, they are just there for debugging.) • LI Background Images (.PNG) not appeared in IE6

• Changing the direction of a Combo box dropdown in SWT

  Hi, I'm building an Eclipse plugin in SWT, and I have the following problem: one of my fields is a combo box, and in some cases it may have fairly long items as selection options. My plugin runs on the right side of the screen, so when you go to use the combo-box, the right side of the combo box is cut off. So, my question is: is there any way to change the dropdown's alignment relative to the combo control? It seems to be permanently left-aligned... and I'm pretty sure you can change the direction in Swing (though the only place I've seen it done is in the Substance UI demo. The Combo Box tab has boxes with North, South East, and West flyout directions... for my application, I need something like the West flyout) Note: Setting actual text limits is a last-case-scenario option; it would be quite a bit of guesswork to set the text limit dynamically (since the widget's view can be resized). Here's a picture (sorry, I can only have one link and no images :( ... I need some more rep :p) Left side of the line: Proper width - the view is the wide enough for the combo dropdown to display all the text; you can see the scrollbars on the right side. Right side of the line: Too small - Here, the view has been resized, and the combo dropdown scrollbar (as well as some of the text) is cut off by the right side of the screen. I always have more screen space available to the left (since this is always on the right hand side of the screen), but the combo dropdown always appears to the lower right. Hopefully this is clear enough.

  Hi, I am working on a project, in which I am particularly using the CSS with themes. I am facing a compatibility problem between IE7 and IE8. I have placed a ASP.Net menu on page in <div>. Applying CSS style on the div as follows. .TopMenuPanel {           background-color:#3783a9;           position:relative;           left:597px;           top:0px;           width:573px;           height:24px;           text-align:left center; } When I am seeing the page on IE7, the menu showing in one position whereas in IE8 it is showing in another position. Specific talking, in IE7, on the position of Left:597px Top:0px it is showing in before the half page, and in IE8 it is showing after the half page. Anybody else have any experience of such a problem, then please give me the expert solution on this problem.

  At the moment i have managed to separate the left and right channel of a WAVE file and have included the header in a byte[] array. My next step is to be about to play both channels. How can this be done? Once I obtained the byte arrays, I did the following: System.IO.File.WriteAllBytes("c:\\left.wav", song_left); System.IO.File.WriteAllBytes("c:\\right.wav", song_right); Added a button to play the saved wave file: private void button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { spWave = new SoundPlayer("c:\\left.wav"); spWave.Play(); } Once I hit the play button, this error appers: An unhandled exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in System.dll Additional information: The wave header is corrupt. Any ideas?

  I've run into an issue while using ExtJS 4.0.7. I'm trying to display a chart with two series on a Numeric/Category Chart. The chart displays correctly in Firefox, but while using Chrome (18.0.1025.142) the x axis labels are either all stacked upon each or else (when using rotate) rendered behind the chart in the specified angle. Any ideas would be appreciated. • What is wrong with the JavaScript event handling in this example? (Using click() and hover() jQuery

  I'm working on a sort of proof-of-concept for a project that approximates Firebug's inspector tool. For more details, please see this related question. Here is the example page. I've only tested it in Firefox: http://troy.onespot.com/static/highlight.html The idea is that, when you're mousing over any element that can contain text, it should "highlight" with a light gray background to indicate the boundaries of that element. When you then click on the element, it should alert() a CSS selector that matches it. This is somewhat working in the example linked above. However, there's one fundamental problem. When mousing over from the top of the page to the bottom, it will pick up the paragraphs, <h1> element, etc. But, it doesn't get the <div>s that encompass those paragraphs. However, for example, if you "sneak up" on the <div> that contains the two paragraphs "The area was settled..." and "Austin was selected..." from the left - tracing down the left edge of the page and entering the <div> just between the two paragraphs (see this screenshot) - then it is picked up. I assume this has something to do with the fact that I haven't attached an event handler to the <body> element (where you're entering the <div> from if you enter from the left), but I have attached handlers to the <p>s (where you're entering from if you come from the top or bottom). There are also other issues with mousing in and out elements - background colors that "stick" and the like - that I think are also related. As indicated in the related question posted above, I suspect there is something about event bubbling that I don't understand that is causing unexpected behavior. Can anyone spot what's wrong with my code? Thanks in advance for any help!

• Jquery draggable not working in chrome/safari

  I have created a page that uses ajax calls to load product images. The jquery code for drag, drop and clone would not work when in the index.php page so I moved it to the page that gets called to request the products as each product has drag, drop code created for it. Works fine in FF, even IE but not in Safari or Chrome. • How to call a javascript function from one frame to another in Chrome/Webkit

  I have developped an application that has a list of items in one frame; when one clicks on an item it does something in another frame (loads an image). This used to work fine in all browsers, including Chrome 3; now it still works fine in FF but in recent versions of Chrome (I believe since 4) it throws this error: Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL (...) from frame with URL (...). Domains, protocols and ports must match. This is obviously a security "feature" but is it possible to get around it? • jQuery AJAX Redirection problem

  Hello please consider this: On page A I have a link that takes you to page B when JS is off, but when JS is on, I want to replace content on current page with content from the page B. Pages A and B are in fact the same script that is able to tell AJAX calls from regular ones and serve the content appropriately. Everything works fine, as long as there are no redirects involved. But, sometimes there is a 301 redirect and what seems to be happening is that client browser then makes a second request, which will return with a 200 OK. Only the second request is sent without a X-Requested-With header, therefore I cannot tell within my script wether it came from AJAX or not, and will send a complete page instead of just the content. I have tried checking for 301 status code in my error, success, and complete handlers but none of them worked. It seems to be handling the 301 behind the scenes.
